  1. MISERY is great. Did you do any work on the mod yourself?
  2. That looks like a great link manic, thank you for sharing I will have to check it out more when I get home.
  3. I would love to hear some dimension X or jack benny or any of the other radio shows that used to be popular. They may be old enough to be out of copyright too.
  4. autohotkey saved me from the sticks. I just hold down a button and those 70 sticks I dropped pick up easily. Also the mod was made by someone. To use that code for a commercial product would be a pretty bad thing to do without permission and/or pay. They could make their own though of course.
  5. I am not sure if there are differences in how parasites work depending on difficulty but there is a parasite setting in custom already?
  6. You should download STALKER:CoP and install the MISERY mod. That sounds a lot closer to what you would like. Personally I would like for them to make predators less common and the weather and starvation more of a threat.
  7. I think they want control as well. That's why they stopped selling on gog, got angry when people started playing their already purchased game on non-local hardware, and possibly why they got rid of mods. I've found Hinterland sometimes stays silent on topics or deletes discussions when it doesn't suit them to be open about what's happening.
  8. Posting the obligatory alcohol actually makes you freeze faster post.
  9. I don't think we think the same at all. Nothing you wrote convinced me in the least and I don't think you understand the issues I have with linking health and calories the way the game has. We will never convince eachother.
  10. It is true. If you for example make it to a cabin after being in a blizzard but you're really low on health the starvation could kick in and you will die from it. You could argue the blizzard did most of the damage, but the starvation still finished you off. It shouldn't be that way.
  11. Linking calories to health in the way TLD has is a design flaw imo. Any of these solutions is like trying to glue together a poorly made foundation. The most health should be linked to calories it's lowering Regen when you're starving. Starvation should do things like increase how quickly you get tired and reduce your maximum carry weight. If you haven't eaten for a week and a half you should have a carry weight of like 5kg. Eventually you should just collapse and die. Also eating shouldn't just make everything better is seconds. You should have to eat properly and slowly work up your carry weight again just like it slowly decreased with starvation. The way it currently is is you can eat 15 deer over the course of a month but then not eat for like 8 hrs and then die of starvation.
  12. Astrid has a line saying something like "I'm so tired I could sleep right here" and every time I hear that all I can think of is how much of a lie that is. She can't, she doesn't have a bedroll. She would rather die than sleep without one. What a stubborn princess.
  13. I found the indoor temp drop to not really do anything beyond the very start of the game. If I had to change that I would make the indoor temperature be effected by the outdoor temperate + indoor fires. Pretty much I would like this.... each in game hour: indoor temp = indoor temp - ((indoor temp - outdoor temp)/10) + (fire temperature(s) / 5) The numbers/equation would have to be played with of course, I am just making them up. But the idea is to have it so the the house will always be chasing the outside temperature but can be warmed up by a fire. The larger the temperature difference the faster it will change, though a house should stay warm for a significant amount of time. Having to actually heat a house could make for some more interesting gameplay I feel. If you guys are concerned it would be too difficult then each house could have a little stash of wood to help players heat buildings for a time. Plus a difficulty option....perhaps just add it as an option for custom games in addition to the event.
  14. I am not sure if it happens anymore, but people were saying timberwolves were running around at full speed snarling and barking for days in the middle of a blizzard. Those are some pretty freakin' determined wolves. Anyways I like the idea of a tracking skill. I would love to see animal tracks be a part of it too, as well as an increase in the roaming range of animals. Currently they have a tiny little circle where they can be which means you reliably know where to find food and you don't need to pay much attention to what's happening around you.....which is a shame.
  15. As a canadian also I wouldn't even consider not shredding them
  16. It still may be the same, you could easily adjust the odds to keep it the same, or have an extra roll to add the spray cans. Without more information it is hard to know.
  17. Cool, always good to know how the game works. I like these sorts of tests.
  18. That sleep issue is something I've disliked since the beginning. As I played more it because less of an issue but just because I can work around it doesn't mean I think it's fine. I mean the very idea that you couldn't sleep on the floor is ridiculous. I really think that especially for new players this should be in the game. Dragging a carcass would be good too, especially wolf ones. In TLD even a full sized buck is what, 20kg at most? You should be able to just pick it up and carry it without much issue and barely slow down. *this was a half joke pointing out how little meat deer actually give compared to real life* I really do think dragging a carcass should be in the game though, it makes sense.
  19. You can get attacked through the wall, but if you can get them to stick their head in you can also kill them through the wall.
  20. I play custom with animals set to minimum and animal reduction set to maximum. I have however been playing with low food requirement because eating an entire deer in a couple days is just too much. I want it to last that extra day(still ridiculous). But I also can't use starvation on my custom games so I wouldn't be surprised if my food requirements are actually pretty close. Anyways I am just waiting for mods. Cut that animal population down by 90%. Maybe have intestinal parasites for lvl 1 cooking only. Yeah...
  21. Why meat decays at all in TLD is a mystery to me. I would just change it so it only decays if say it's in a warm house. That being said, I would totally be behind making meat harder to get in the first place. I want starvation to be a threat.
  22. Something I can do is wrap ice packs in a towel. Which I did last night. With like 5-6 layers it's pretty effective, though I am not sure how well it would hold up to wind......yet Plus I don't know how it compares to a jacket
  23. Yeah it adds a lot of inventory clutter. I think until the new system is added that they should all be at 100% condition to at least reduce clutter. It could be just like water is now.
  24. Next winter I will check how warm a towel is. I doubt it's very warm really compared to one of the hats I have laying around. But I've never tried it so.
  25. I've not noticed them decaying but I haven't tested them properly.
