  1. Oh, nice idea. You can just use the ones you find in that house too
  2. I do think something should be done. Personally I would like to see a fat system added but it probably seems too complicated to the devs. The devs may also be happy with how it is now considering how long it has been this way.
  3. Many items have weight problems. The whole thing needs a pass for it to make sense.
  4. I meant MISERY. Yeah I have anomaly already but I've been waiting for the game to get patched up as much as it will. I need to modify the weapons and ammo so I can feel good playing it but I don't want to put in the effort if things will change. I really dislike the 7.92x57 rounds barely scratching people with a leather jacket on.
  5. Black outline over white text solves this and is commonly used.
  6. No, no it wouldn't. Unless it was really drunk or on drugs.
  7. That's not an exploit at all. I was just talking to someone who hunts yesterday who spent a number of hours up in a tree and he watched some wolves that came and hang out at the tree for a few hours. He could have started killing them all and there would be nothing they could have done about it. I simply see it as having a good spot.
  8. Ah okay. Just to be clear I wish to say I meant for hinterland to use them, not any of us. Taking someone's work without compensation or permission and selling it as your own doesn't sit well with me.

    Firestarter

Firestarting with a hand or bow drill comes up all the time. I hope they add it and add it in a way that is different than the other fire starting methods.
  10. In real life? Not unless you have the cooking skills of a two year old. You would have to leave parts of the meat raw and below the max temperature the parasites could handle. Then you would have to not be able to tell that the meat is raw. Personally if intestinal parasites are to stay in the game I would like to see raw meat be safer to eat so that you are at least tempted to eat it raw. If it has to be in cooked meat at least have it at cooking skill 1 only. You would have to be incredibly incompetent to not tell that the meat you've "cooked" barely got warm. edit---------- There are no dumb questions BTW. Nobody can know everything. I may know that time slows down in gravity or with speed, and what antimatter is, but there are plenty of things I don't know that others would assume is common knowledge.
  11. MISERY is great. Did you do any work on the mod yourself?
  12. That looks like a great link manic, thank you for sharing I will have to check it out more when I get home.
  13. I would love to hear some dimension X or jack benny or any of the other radio shows that used to be popular. They may be old enough to be out of copyright too.
  14. autohotkey saved me from the sticks. I just hold down a button and those 70 sticks I dropped pick up easily. Also the mod was made by someone. To use that code for a commercial product would be a pretty bad thing to do without permission and/or pay. They could make their own though of course.
  15. I am not sure if there are differences in how parasites work depending on difficulty but there is a parasite setting in custom already?
  16. You should download STALKER:CoP and install the MISERY mod. That sounds a lot closer to what you would like. Personally I would like for them to make predators less common and the weather and starvation more of a threat.
  17. I think they want control as well. That's why they stopped selling on gog, got angry when people started playing their already purchased game on non-local hardware, and possibly why they got rid of mods. I've found Hinterland sometimes stays silent on topics or deletes discussions when it doesn't suit them to be open about what's happening.
  18. Posting the obligatory alcohol actually makes you freeze faster post.
  19. I don't think we think the same at all. Nothing you wrote convinced me in the least and I don't think you understand the issues I have with linking health and calories the way the game has. We will never convince eachother.
  20. It is true. If you for example make it to a cabin after being in a blizzard but you're really low on health the starvation could kick in and you will die from it. You could argue the blizzard did most of the damage, but the starvation still finished you off. It shouldn't be that way.
  21. Linking calories to health in the way TLD has is a design flaw imo. Any of these solutions is like trying to glue together a poorly made foundation. The most health should be linked to calories it's lowering Regen when you're starving. Starvation should do things like increase how quickly you get tired and reduce your maximum carry weight. If you haven't eaten for a week and a half you should have a carry weight of like 5kg. Eventually you should just collapse and die. Also eating shouldn't just make everything better is seconds. You should have to eat properly and slowly work up your carry weight again just like it slowly decreased with starvation. The way it currently is is you can eat 15 deer over the course of a month but then not eat for like 8 hrs and then die of starvation.
  22. Astrid has a line saying something like "I'm so tired I could sleep right here" and every time I hear that all I can think of is how much of a lie that is. She can't, she doesn't have a bedroll. She would rather die than sleep without one. What a stubborn princess.
  23. I found the indoor temp drop to not really do anything beyond the very start of the game. If I had to change that I would make the indoor temperature be effected by the outdoor temperate + indoor fires. Pretty much I would like this.... each in game hour: indoor temp = indoor temp - ((indoor temp - outdoor temp)/10) + (fire temperature(s) / 5) The numbers/equation would have to be played with of course, I am just making them up. But the idea is to have it so the the house will always be chasing the outside temperature but can be warmed up by a fire. The larger the temperature difference the faster it will change, though a house should stay warm for a significant amount of time. Having to actually heat a house could make for some more interesting gameplay I feel. If you guys are concerned it would be too difficult then each house could have a little stash of wood to help players heat buildings for a time. Plus a difficulty option....perhaps just add it as an option for custom games in addition to the event.
  24. I am not sure if it happens anymore, but people were saying timberwolves were running around at full speed snarling and barking for days in the middle of a blizzard. Those are some pretty freakin' determined wolves. Anyways I like the idea of a tracking skill. I would love to see animal tracks be a part of it too, as well as an increase in the roaming range of animals. Currently they have a tiny little circle where they can be which means you reliably know where to find food and you don't need to pay much attention to what's happening around you.....which is a shame.
