  1. oops. I meant level 5.... It makes it so any food you eat except raw meat doesnt give you poisoning or parasites. Even granola bars and sardines
  2. I just write off cooking level 3 as using salt to preserve meats since it effectively eliminates meat spoiling.
  3. The sections cut out reduce weight if I understand this correctly. This would help our survivor because the bow they're using isn't the strongest and you get double the blades for the same weight! A flat cut is much easier to heal than a jagged hole, I could see the arrow produce bleeding much more effectively and at higher rates, maybe also with more definitive blood trails.
  4. And I totally agree, a misfire is still technically correct because the rifle didn't fire correctly in either case. It would be cool to add multiple types of ammunition malfunctions and their consequences but at the end of the day I'm perfectly fine with keeping it simple. But what puzzles me is why didn't they just add the normal misfire? Too similar to a jam? Or maybe they didn't want to let you get the lead back for balance reasons.
  5. I hate to get into the specifics of ammunition malfunctions but in TLD the "misfire" seems to actually be a "squib load". A true misfire is when the primer fails to ignite and the round simply doesnt fire. These are scary because the could also be hangfires where the round goes off seconds later. A squib load is when for whatever reason the round doesn't fire with the correct velocity and intensity as it should. Squib loads sometimes don't even exit the barrel and you've got a real problem on your hands if you dont clear it and fire again... I hope you have a rifle cleaning kit. These seem to fit the TLD 'misfire' a lot closer.
  6. I like the new music better honestly. It's a personal preference.
  7. It Won't Last Shimmer - Firelight Glow softly - Gloves on numb hands Echos - Lament of wolves Just putting one I've already posted here so that it's compiled.
  8. It's bleak inlet. The bridge just isn't present on the map to the central island. One secret I've found is that the pork n' beans is mystery meat, possibly human. It's filled with what "looks like pork" but the ingredients list doesn't even have pork on it.
  9. Thanks, but isn't that already the case with different buildings being destroyed and corpse locations and loot tables?
  10. Whats the reasoning for not having variable starting conditions?
  11. The new tracks play within the caves of the world as well as outside. Could this be a clue?
  12. Just put a sticky note with a zero onto it and it'll work fine.
  13. Charcoal is used for gunpowder. Dismantling really helps when you've placed a fire in a slightly erroneous spot and it blocks a better placement.
  14. Why are the semitruck trailers unable to be opened? There's gotta be food and shelter in them!
  15. Yeah, from an animator's perspective they'll most likely change the note. If they change the keypad then that number has some sort of special importance. Story Mode Spoilers:
  16. Voyageur timberwolves are perfect. Stalker ones need almost two whole revolver cylinders to clear! I love the potential for these timberwolf packs, but i really hope they're not implemented in every single map. I'm thinking TWM, PV, BI, HRV, and FM are the only maps they should be on.
  17. It's not a bug, The purpose is to prevent players from dying from a ruined bedroll and nowhere to sleep. It's been in the game for years. The time to repair is longer as well if I remember correctly.
  18. The code is 1540, but there's no zero on the keypad. How does that work?
  19. I'm thinking you'll be able to craft special arrowheads later with it.
  20. A lot of these are me except waiting for stuff to cure and traveling at lower conditions. One thing I do is survive off of all manmade resources and spawned carcasses and only hunt when I need to, I have a pilgrim game where I've survived roughtly 200 days so far on just MT, BR, ML, FM, CH, and PV food (asides from a couple of stoned rabbits for some gloves) and I probably can hit 400 without looting any more regions. Do you fish by chance? It's something I hardly if ever do.
  21. I'd like to see it spawn broken and requiring repair at the cannery. I'm not all for changing its stats but maybe the metal makes your hands cold, increasing the shivers while aiming by 5 percent but increasing critical chance by 5 as well or something along those lines.
  22. Try not to eat stuff under 75 percent condition if you can help, dog food and soda is pretty safe though.
  23. Oh no, youre right. The easy kills I mentioned involved using bait. The stuff you listed is exactly all the points i thought needed ironed out for this all to work. I'm not denying that there's a problem here. I just have optimism that theres a solution to all this. I think upon dropping bait, the normal wolves should approach it and charge the bait similar to a timberwolf then run away. Fires should cause wolves to run, but only when its fully lit. This encourages players to bring accelerant.
  24. I think the current version is playable on Voyageur difficulty. Stalker and Interloper players have taken the full brunt of this. The wolves hide right outside your doors and living nomadically while hunting is impossible since that requires you to carry meat with you. Cutting up any carcass attracts wolves unless you drop the meat instantly as you cut it up which doesn't make any sense. Aside from PC user interface (please let us use our keyboards to navigate like consoles, wsad for arrow keys and e for enter) and wolves, I think the game is at its peak still. I have faith that wolf behaviour can be ironed out and allow for more consistent defense while simultaneously eliminating easy kills. We cant just go back to before, but currently there's not enough reliability in any action unless you've got a weapon skill at level 5. But you still can't miss your shot with that either.
  25. Idk why but those sprains get me every time. Never fail to scare me unless the autosave freezes the game temporarily first (common occurrence rn).
