  1. That image from "industrial mine" is soooo old! I remember when trees were green instead of blue!
  2. Attempting As the Dead Sleeps. Will i get achievements if i complete it offline? The next time i have internet I mean. I made it all the way from cannery to carter hydro while in death throes. (food poisoing from a 33 percent sardine can) No stims were in any of the med lockers/cabinets.
  3. Could be a journal you can place down on a table along with your maps and costs charcoal to use to save.
  4. I was terrified by the noises too. I thought they were a cougar or something. But I think they're new deer noises? I also enjoy these "outdoor interiors" They make the place more cozy while also showing you how thin the walls are between you and certain death.
  5. yeah that one flew over my head! Although the sap is best collected when it's moving thru the tree. It goes to the roots in winter. Although lore wise it might be as early as september in-game.
  6. Sugar beets? Pleasant Valley Orchards? Idk if there's a wild sugar source. Otherwise it keeps forever so it might just be a non renewable item only found in kitchens.
  7. @xanna @hozz1235 That was the OG rare item. It's always been a stat If I remember correctly. ^^ It's a staus of luxury!
  8. I like all the new sounds (except the deer) but i feel like the levels can be off. Also the sound frequency feels much higher? Like I feel like some sounds trigger way too much or the larger library of sounds is causing more to play at any given moment. I dont like it. Theres no moments of relative silence. I remeber hanging out inside the maintenance shed and hearing an occasional squeak, but now its a cacophony of noise like the ghosts of the place are moving furniture or something.
  9. Maybe they should make it so the sleep condition recovery is impacted even more but Im fine with it being relatively pain free. Or maybe they make it so the first 2 hours of sleep gain no recovery so you have to sleep in larger chunks of time and hope you dont wake up
  10. If "base customization" allows for moving plastic/metal containers then things will get really nice at the hub station.
  11. Thanks! Nah my memory is fuzzy after being on a hiatus from the game for a couple years.
  12. I hate to give spoilers about it but I enjoyed its use fo what it was. Unfortunately you can only have one rock cache in a region I believe but yee I did consider that.
  13. One of my favorite things about this update is actually the sheer amount of buildings in the new Airfield region that are still connected to outside and don't need a loading screen! Reminds me of the vibes from Mountaineer's cabin and the church in desolation point. Some of my favorite places to hole up in TLD are ones like these. Community Hall is still my favorite but the train station hub is really neat. Kinda wish it had more storage tho.
  14. Thank you! I'm sure it was a painstaking process to split apart story and survival mode. But Im excited for what it means for the future of TLD! (and maybe a second game? :3) The patchnotes are highly appreciated, hopefully we get them sooner for Part 2. ^^ New environmental storytelling? Also it probably seemed like a good time to with the addition of Does into the game. It added a new corpse variant essentially. Plus they had a lot of new human ones to use after Part 3 of wintermute.
  15. This ^^. I dont want promises. I just want clarity of what youre getting the moment you buy/update it
  16. I undersdtood the dlc structure was an experiment and is tailored for the unique case of how this game was released and the community's need for more survival content. I actually really like that you guys are trying to bring back that early access bizz feeling with the regular updates! You all revealed just enough of whats to come on future updates. You all should still celebrate! I just think that knowing what's in this particular release to explore with should be more clear. The roadmap doesnt really let you know what is already able to be played with now vs whats coming in future.
  17. Are acorns in the game? I passed under several of the oak looking trees in the Forsaken Airfield and found none.
  18. I very mych enjoy this idea! Somewhere in the late game the quest for loot becomes more of a chore and less engaging. rewards/tasks I can think of: Unique items (+ interloper treats), an advantageous view, intel and storytelling, a feat unlocked through... well a feat! Safehouse customization options would be neat too, i.e. catching a large fish in a certain pond might unlock a mount for it in your home, permanantly or per survival run is fine by me. I'm already stoked for these mini quests that are promised to weave into survival mode. Operating an old steam system to cross a barrier is right up my alley!
  19. Y'know, another exciting thought about this is that we're one step closer to seeing this studio's new project. Itd be built with the foresight and experience the devs have acquired making this one. They have the opportunity to work with a game from the ground up instead of dealing with decisions made in half a decade old code! In other words they can potentially pursue a vision no holds barred! Along with a new IP the community is potentially in for a treat in discovering a game much like the old early days when updates were frequent and we knew nothing about what the future held!
  20. Damn, Im so hyped! Im ready to uncover the secrets of this new region and those survival mode narratives sound really interesting. If they're anything like story mode's side quests then I'm sure theyll be a hit! Im sure base customization will be an absolute must that may also spark a bit of community creative outlet! Also a use for car visors finally is exciting! ^^
  21. aiming a throwing rock can work too, they're light and plentiful.
  22. Thank you Raph, I think you are ready to take on another groundbreaking project for the good of your team and the community. This game has helped make me who I am today, get me to today, and for that I can't be grateful enough. This "Second Early Access" excites me really! Combined with mod support I think this is an excellent way to solidify The Long Dark's legacy on the gaming medium. It's time to begin a new run armed with what's been learned from the previous.
