  1. There's buttons at the bottom of your inventory, one labeled A-Z, one with the condition icon, and one with the weight icon. Pressing these will sort you inventory from A-Z, by lowest condition, or by heaviest item respectively. By default, it's set to A-Z, and reset every time you relaunch the game. I prefer to play on the weight sorting mode
  2. I don't know why it isn't already like this, but despite clothing giving temp values with decimals, our feels-like temps an our total warmth bonus temps are all given as whole numbers. This should be changed, because it still confuses me. Does the lack of a decimal mean that any decimal value is dropped? Meaning you only need to get enough to reach every whole number? Is it rounded? Is the decimal actually counted but just not displayed? -SpanishMoss
  3. Here is a visual guide to getting through that section (the black door is inaccessible)
  4. You actually do not go through that door, there is another door that allows you to enter from the side ( I think)
  5. So, you're saying that you picked up the satchel, then went back to an autosave because you were cold from the waterfall. Then, you went back in to get the satchel, and when you picked it up, the quest didn't complete? Or, when you went back in, the satchel wasn't there but everything else was? Just clarifying
  6. Since the car interior changes, several people have mentioned this issue of not being able to pick up items in cars
  7. Other antivirus softwares to avoid: McAfee Norton MalwareBytes If you want a better antivirus, look for a payed option, but do your research first. However you should only get a paid option if you go to a lot of sketchy websites or download a lot of files. if you need help getting rid of avast, check out this guide: https://thinkmobiles.com/blog/how-to-uninstall-avast/ (please ignore the websites comments about the quality of avast, windows defender is just as good if not better)
  8. Windows defender is plenty fine. If your using linux or mac, idk what would be a good alternative
  9. Why the heck would you use avast. Avast is hot garbage
  10. Not a bug, just a poor design choice in the devs part. Has confused a lot of people. To make it easier to craft bullets, they made the ammo workbench highlight only things that the ammo workbench can craft automatically , but it doesn't switch back automatically, causing people to have this non-issue
  11. YES press the "A-Z" button to fix the issue (several people have had this "issue" before)
  12. if you didn't know, you can add note to each day, and while it's not as accessible as the general notes, you can always use your day 1 or day 2 notes as general notes overflow
  13. Bears have recently learned how to get on top of roofs. Some recent AI change allowed them to bugg-ily teleport atop roofs, and sometimes into inaccessible areas.
  14. It might be a Linux thing. It works just fine on windows PCs. Make a bug report if you haven't already
  15. I've always wondered why the back end of the Milton post office cannot be accessed. So... I was hoping that someone with some mods could, you know, fly through the wall and send us a screenshot of what they are hiding back there. The post office is one of the few buildings in the long dark that have rooms that cannot be explored, despite seeming accessible. The other ones are Carter Hydro Dam (one of the floors has a door that you cannot open) Blackrock Power Plant (the lower area below the catwalk is inaccessible [I think]) and Blackrock Prison (several doors that cannot be opened, including the infirmary) While we're at it, it would be cool to see what is in these "inaccessible areas" I am most curious about carter and the power plant, because I suspect the doors in Blackrock have nothing behind them.
  16. If you haven't already, make a support ticket. I assume you don't have any screenshot, so try to be very specific when you describe the issue.
  17. There isn't a way to move while lighting the lantern, but there is a way to move while extinguishing it. If you holster the lantern instead of pressing the extinguish button, you can move at look around while putting the lantern away. I have implemented this in my play-style,and it is so much faster
  18. Yeah, there's a lot of buggy behavior when you play on runs from old versions.
  19. The brightness settings are kinda wonky. When I set brightness to max, anything that was dark appeared green, even when lit, things looked very green. This feat should just be a general brightness increase, but rather something more akin to a (very) low strength but high range storm lantern.
  20. I don't know about that. On interloper especially, this would've a wonderful feat. This would also replace the kinda-cheesy method of using the placement outline of your bedroll to navigate. An intentional game mechanic like this would be welcome. As for balance, you really can't be sure how balanced it would be until you see if for yourself, I'm sure the devs could balance it so it's not OP.
  21. For those who haven't seen it, Raphael did an interview with shock news such includes some insights into the future of the game : http://dlvr.it/SDzx8L (this link was acquired from hinterland Twitter if you don't trust it [which is smart of you])
