  1. It's a long read, but for anyone who is interested in learning how Hinterland develops an episode of Wintermute, it's worth it. https://mobile.twitter.com/RaphLife/status/1505345499913588739
  2. (here's the post about it) The Long Dark on Twitter: "Thank you for your patience as we continue to work on the upcoming Hotfix. We currently estimate the update will be available before the end of the month. Please continue to report all technical issues via our support portal: https://t.co/Y22tJOF07x https://t.co/IMEFsh0ATy" / Twitter (Posted March 7th)
  3. Lucky for you, a hotfix is scheduled to release within the next 2-3 weeks. (Also, please be nice to the dev team, Hinterland is a wonderful company, but they tend to push updates slowly. This ensures there will be less bugs than if it was forced out by a deadline.)
  4. Welcome to the forums! If you are experiencing crashes, make a support ticket through Hinterland Support (zendesk.com) Episode 5 does not have a release date, although updates tend to take a while to come out, so maybe expect it in a year or two. Binoculars have been suggested in the past, consider making your own interpretation in the Wish-List sub-forum. As a new forum user, it's ok that for now, but in the future, please try and post your comments in the correct sub-forum to ensure the right people are helping you. Have fun in The Long Dark! -SpanishMoss
  5. No, there's one in the cave that leads from the bottom up to the top
  6. I had recently walked through a waterfall, and that was why I had some temp loss
  7. We'll, I'm playing on stalker, but I may or may not have maxed clothing...
  8. Make a ticket with this picture(if you can try and take a debug screenshot)
  9. You would need a mod (which is what op is using)
  10. The black rock, or the keepers pass south entrance? At both, there can be a wolf/deer corpse, (respectively) but they are both out of the way
  11. Yeah, timberwolves are easier to deal with than normal wolves, just hold a flare and you can completely ignore them
  12. Each instance of frostbite reduces you maximum condition by 10% permanently (in a normal run, the max amount of frostbite afflictions is 5, one for each hand, one for each foot, and one for you head)
  13. Ok, I'll try and get a video and make a formal ticket.
  14. I believe the requirement for unlocking it is 20 days spent in the wind of blizzards
  15. People don't like the wind, which is why there is a feat which makes you 20% faster in wind
  16. Yes it's in ash canyon, right behind the anglers den actually
  17. Why game... just why.... (Unreachable, requires extreme detour to recover) P.S. I managed to goat up to get it
  18. I assume humans mean yourself, which is what killed me before... my own bad decisions!
  19. 2. Every cave has this happen, try it! Walk to the back half of a cave, and your character will slow down in real time. This is because the back half of the cave counts as "indoors" thus allowing you to cure stuff, and be warmer
  20. Thought of a few other puzzles: Finishing the Job **** You've been hunting a bear for some time now, but you've run out of ammo! Can you break into and steal everything from every car in Mountain Town? Conditions: You start outside the gas station You do not start with a prybar The prybar spawns in the farmhouse You must collect all the loot in every car in the region, open every glove box, and open every trunk (and take what's inside) Every trunk is locked You have 1 real-life hour to complete the challenge Items found in cars can be consumed, but must be picked up and kept, not just held or dropped Pilgrim Difficulty Librarian ** Knowledge, you quest for it, you must obtain it. 21. I think that setting refers to your fire going out while sleeping, not when you start dying. Also, how would you be woken up from freezing if you are already freezing in the first place? Then it would just prevent you from sleeping...
  22. I have a 170+ day stalker run, and I've been seeing a weird issue. Whenever i load into the game, the first searched container I open will cause the game to freeze for several seconds. This only happens once however, every other time for the duration of the current play session, opening a searched container will not lag the game. It even lags if the container is empty, so it's not about there being too many items. I'm also pretty sure it's not a hardware issue, as the game has not had any other stutters or low fps. If the devs want a video or other info I'll make a ticket
  23. Yeah, this issue is difficultly based, if you don't want to have this happen, just enable the setting in the custom game options. The point of this addition is to make the game harder, and punish the player for sleeping when they shouldn't
  24. Yes, the game does get harder. In the sense that the world gets colder, and wildlife slowly disappears. The back half of a cave counts at "indoors" in the sense that you can cure hides/guts, and is warmer than the front half
