  1. Here is the wiki page about decay, it might help answer some questions:
  2. Correction, some locations that are outdoors still count as "indoors". These include the back half of caves, fishing huts, and the mountneeiers hut. Similar locations can be identified by character walking speed. If your character walks slower than normal, that area counts as indoor. Clothing decays slower in container, regardless if they are indoors or not. Decay rate of items in the inventory does not change when indoors or outdoors, unless it is worn clothing. Locations like the PV porch DOES count as indoors despise not having a loading screen, and is treated the same as actual indoors.
  3. I saw another thread elsewhere on the forums that described this issue, but with no picture. It took that thread like 20 comments to find the solution so... I wanted to make sure that didn't happen again
  4. 2 things: you should be able to see current afflictions with TAB, the snowshelter UI should be updated to include pictures, not just words
  5. You see all the optimal locations to place a campfire so the wind won't blow it out.
  6. Quick question, can you harvest a Car Battery during an aurora? If so, that would kind of be unsafe. By extension, can you harvest a flashlight during an aurora (that's probably safer though)
  7. Thats very unfortunate. I don't think anything can be done, and you'll need to restart the whole episode. I wish I could tell you something better, but assuming you have absolutely no prior saves, then that's what you're going to have to.
  8. You're confused as to why the car doors are locked as well as the trunk
  9. Honestly, I think this feat would be perfect for this game, I agree, in no-light level environments, it shouldn't work (an enterable cave away from a light source for example) but indoors during the night, it would be helpful. The hardest part is finding the right amount of brightness award the player, and there isn't an easy solution without testing different options first (if this such feat is even possible in the game). In so many occasions, you would find yourself stumbling around in the dark, unable to do anything because you don't have a light source or are not willing sacrifice a match or use some lamp oil. Because of the helpfulness of this feat, I'd say 25-50 days of not sleeping in darkness would be a good amount.
  10. You make sure to drop all your meat outside, so it degrades slower
  11. This is a good idea, but is should be more general: Night Vision. You've been in darkness (not sleeping) for over xx hours, you can now see better in the dark
  12. You know no wolves spawn nearby so you don't have to crouch
  13. I'd actually want to remove some voice lines, a lot of them are kinda stupid, especially when they complain about a problem I was literally about to solve.
  14. Currently a bug, you need simple or quality tools to fix crampons, not a sewing kit
  15. 2 arguments for the other side: first: timberwolves are extremely easy to stop from attacking you. All you need is a lit flare or torch, and you can literally ignore them. Second, black rock also has a Milling Machine, which is useful on late game interloper. CH is one of the best regions to survive long term, and blackrock might be a closer alternative to BI for it. I do agree that the vest is kinda bad for late game players with the flare gun, and noisemakers are also pointless, but the extra region to loot might be helpful
  16. Here is a map of mystery lake that includes the possible prepper cache locations. If you want to explore on your own DO NOT look at this map, as it will spoil everything.
  17. Look at the bottom of your screenshot. See how the ammunition workbench is highlighted? that's because you're filtering only items that can be made at the ammunition workbench. To fix it, select the A-Z icon
  18. In the recent 1.98 update, several important clothing items received nerfs to their protection values. This change is not mentioned in teh patch notes, so I will show you the changes here, some of them are pretty significant: Bearskin Coat: 18% -> 15% Moose-Hide Cloak: 25% -> 20% Crampons: 10% -> 3% Rabbit skin Mitts: 5% -> 3% Wolfskin Coat: 15% -> 12% Hope this info helps you! -SpanishMoss
  19. In this video, I will show you how you can affect the movement of any animal! This is likely due to an oversite or bug, so make sure you use it while you can!
  20. Found this stumbling through a blizzard, it's located in a cave at the bottom of the Keepers Pass North, down a rope. This make 5 possible flare gun spawns (in boxes) +2 in HRV near corpses that don't always spawn. If you forgot were all 5 are, they are located in: Summit of Timberwolf Mountain Bottom of the Ravine Lighthouse in Bleak Inlet Next to corpse by Pillars Footrest in Ash Canyon New: Down a rope in a cave in Keepers Pass North (btw this is the PV->Blackrock transition zone) +2 in HRV that are not guaranteed
  21. I wonder if the vest stops moose attacks from giving broken ribs...
  22. Hinterland doesn't talk with the community very much, and they aren't going to change. Your best bet for devolpmemt leaks are from Raph's twitter.
  23. I haven't tested it, but I don't know why it would be...
  24. Looks like you're probably right @Leeanda! Raph posted this on twitter recently, so there aren't any big changes left to make. Raphael van Lierop (He/Him) on Twitter: "Just recorded my narration for December's Survival Mode update, I drank warm water to help my voice just like the pros do, and it made me think of @jhaletweets @Mark_Meer @DavidBHayter and @EliasToufexis and holy hell how do you not have to go to the bathroom constantly." / Twitter
