ThePancakeLady
Just looking at old screenshots from way back when... and I found the one that made me fall in love with Desolation Point, forever. Yeah, it's old, but damn, it is beautiful. My first screenshot ever of the Lighthouse, I think.
ajb1978
My game crashed when capturing a screenshot so I have nothing to share...but the image was kind of sad. A blood trail and bear footprints, leading to a dead bear, just outside the mouth of his cave. All he wanted to do was get home, but even his last wish was denied. Edit: Happy ending though. When I loaded back up and went to re-hunt that bear, he dropped in one shot. Merciful. Edited June 15, 2019 by ajb1978 2

Screenshot Pilgrim
Used to spend days on end at Desolation Point getting screenshots, and camping atop the Lighthouse. Slept in short intervals and inside during storms to be awake for sunrise, sunset, and aurora. There were often hours of fog. Did firewood gathering and hunting during heavy snows. When the time came for a change of scenery, and to fish up more lantern fuel, I'd have many pictures, cured pelts, and broken arrows to take back to Coastal Highway. stratvox
Getting ready to leave this place: I've been on FM for nearly two months, mapping out the region completely. Here is the result: The only two regions I have left that don't look like this are Winding River and Pleasant Valley. This particular guy has been wandering Great Bear now for ~690 days. My current plan (I'm now at the Camp Office) is to continue on up through the dam to Winding River and mapping that region, and then going to PV and mapping all of that region as well. I expect that by the time I'm done I'll have eaten another couple of months, and at that point I'm taking the rest of my saplings and heading up to TWM for a while. 7
Doc Feral
Wait, what's that, Santa's village? And then I remember I still had some grudge against the guy in a Coke costume. We all got the wrong present one time or another.

piddy3825
Hanging around the water cooler at work? I recently loaded up an old save game where I had previously filled the bed of this pickup truck with water bottles. At that time, the bed was devoid of snow. After the last few updates and touch ups this is what the back of the bed looks like now with snow on it. Thru happenstance this view just struck me as feeling very immersive, like that's what you would expect to see if you actually came across it in game. Either that, or wow, this is some good sativa... 8
shade_grey
For a game set in a boreal forest during mid winter, it's actually quite a colourful game.

hozz1235
The clear, cold nights in HRV lend themselves to some great Aurorae! 3
ajb1978
Picnic, anyone? Just my field rations while I tear down the junk at the rural crossroads...but I mean talk about a nice picnic spot. I'd eat there IRL. Watching traffic go by, listen to the birds. 4
shade_grey
Woke up one morning to a world that looks like this: I just had to take snapshots of this. You can see the pictures slowly becoming brighter too as the day emerges. 1

stratvox
Some Winding River randos: This was good mapping weather. Looking up the river towards the dam. This was later when I was ferrying stuff from ML to PV. The weather adds just a touch of melancholy. I was in WR for three days. One of them started with a pea soup fog; a little later on it burned off so I went up to the dam to pick stuff up. As I moved my stuff through the cave to PV, I had occasion to hunker down in the cave and make some water and cook up some venison. It was my last trip through the cave. I stopped to look back at the cooking fire, which would burn down soon: 1

Doc Feral
One-shot bear kill. Judging by the arrow's position the poor bear would have died by starvation, and it probably committed suicide by force of will. 3
