  1. Lol! I just think tagging Admin right now, during the last push for getting Episode 3 out, might not be such a nice thing to do. Especially if the info is there, for those of us nosy enough to go looking for it.
  2. If you look at the Privacy Policy, you'll find the answer.
  3. I am replaying again, the 3rd or 4th time now. On Episode 2 now. And enjoying the freedom of trying new things, since I know the maps well, and know where I need to go, and what I need to do. I can now really let the dialogue and narrative sink in, and take the time to see all of the little details I missed before. Not just the lore notes, but environmental story-telling details as well. And I won't make any predictions about "you-know'who" or why he is there. I'll let the devs tell the story, and take from it what I can, or wish to.
  4. Eh, in Stalker I am happy for the abundant revolver ammo. I don't use it to hunt with, but it does a dang fine job of scaring wolves off if fired in their general direction (no intentional play on my Steam user name, none at all, lol!) in Stalker Mode. And I'll never complain if it hits one of them and makes them run off bleeding.
  5. Dangit! I knew it looked familiar! But couldn't place where I had seen the screenshot before. I remember that now, I had wondered if the mag lens was not working because you were behind the fire, and the light would have been coming through the lens at the character, not reflected back at the fire. Now I know where this is, and will not give the location, but let others try to guess, or find it and screenshot it.
  6. Nah, you did fine. Just throwing my 3¢ in, because I have always wanted cougars in the game, since they were first mentioned. The idea of walking between the rock formations at the Southern River Access, unsuspecting, not looking up, because I am looking ahead for wolves on the ground, and having Grumpy Cat jump down and land on my head... lol. Terrifying, yet appealing to me. I often feel like I don't have much reason to look up in the game, unless I hear crows, making their "circling a carcass/corpse" sounds. Or to look at a beautiful Aurora, which won't happen during the day, like a hungry cougar might. But, yeah, I would not be heartbroken if cougars were never added. Timber wolves seems like it is going to change my playstyle, if they have good pack behavior, and don't line up in a nice, polite queue, the way the wolves do right now, it should make Voyageur on up much more interesting. Not sure what to expect from them in Pilgrim, if/when they are added to Survival mode. I mean, the Moose will still stomp the heck out of you in Pilgrim, which caught me off guard the first time it happened. Wondering if Timbers will be easily provoked like Bullwinkle is.
  7. Eh, I kind of want them, lol. A new predator, who may make my Stalker stealth game a whole lot different, since they seem to be stealth hunters as well, and may use the same elevated trails and goatpaths I tend to use to avoid wolves and bears (and Moosen). I think rather than ground based predators, they should take the high grounds, more likely to attack from above, from ledges, fallen trees and rock formations. Stealthy ambush predator attacks. The sounds of their big tails swishing through snow, paws crunching on the snow and ice pack, claws scraping on ice and stone. And the unique sounds (including cougar purrs!) that they make... Not a terribly common animal, numbers similar to the Moose. People have asked for more interaction between animals... a cougar being run off by a bear, a face off between a moose and a cougar, a pack of wolves circling a cougar and its kill. Lots of interesting possibilities. And the pelt... lots of requests for a craftable blanket over the years. A soft, heavy cougar pelt or two would make a mighty fine blanket. Will I be broken-hearted if they never add the cougar? Nope. Would I be thrilled (and a bit scared) if they did? Yep. But, then again, we still have to wait and see how we feel once we meet Timber Wolves. I am half excited for it, half terrified. They may or may not be enough to satisfy my need for more craziness in Stalker Mode, lol.
  8. Probably better for the Milton Mailbag, and I think someone already posted this question there this week?
  9. And? You don't have to read my comments if you think they are too "wordy".
  10. Started replaying Wintermute from the start again, so i can bounce between current Survival mode saves, and Wintermute, until Ep 3 drops. And I forgot... I think this is the first time I see this one smile... (if you have not played Ep 1 yet, the image will be a bit spoilery... don't open the hidden content, unless you are okay with having a scene spoiled for you.):
  11. All I want as an "accessory for sanity" is Pancakes. Pancakes make everything better, in case you didn't know.
  12. They can't add it for consoles. Steam is the only platform that gives them the tools to add old depots like this. Raph made a point of telling us that when Time Capsule came out, and he got asked about other platforms. I would love to be able to play old version on my XBox One as well, but... there is a reason why mods are not common on consoles, or rollbacks to older versions like GoG has (though I think that may only be to the last version before the current one? Not sure, I don't use GoG for anything, even though I own some games there.). I am sure that if it was possible Hinterland would have done this for all platforms. Calling them "lazy" without knowing the facts is a bit shameful on your part, in my opinion. They can only do what they can actually do.
  13. We don't know what is part of Wintermute Ep 3, 4 or 5, other than Timber wolves and blue flares. The stuff Raph has teased in the Dev Diary. And I would guess that the story has already been mostly written, with an ending already in view for the writers and Creative Director. And if they never intended Wendigos or Freya or Santa Claus or hot air balloons to be in the story, they aren't going to add them just because some players say they want them. The time is being put in making map changes, tweaking settings, finding and squishing bugs, optimizing the game as much as they can, creating animations and art, ect. Adding new creature, with their own art and animations, new mechanics, things that they never intended to have in the story and the game... we've waited a long time already. And asking them to add this, so close to the date they have given us for Episode 3? And/or change things completely for Episode 4 & 5? How long do you think we all should wait so Wendigos can be created and made to fit into an already written script? None of us can make a "statement" about it. We can only give our opinions on how we feel about something like this being added. They may surprise us, and have something really unexpected thrown in. We'll find out in 15 days, when Episode 3 ships.
  14. You go to the website page for the Time Capsule, and click on the version you want to play. You enter the Branch Password into the text field for Beta access on Steam. Time Capsule only works on the Steam version of the game. https://www.thelongdark.com/time-capsule/ Follow the instructions at the bottom of the page after selecting the version you want to try, below the Branch Name and branch Password for it. But be advised, some people have reported losing Feats, or having Feat progression stuck, after going back to the current version of the game. I did experience loss of all Feats when I went back, but I had a couple of saves in progress in the current version. Loaded one up, played for a minute, and had all of my Feats pop up again. Others have reported losing kb/m controls when going back to the d current version. I did not experience that, so have no idea why others did have that issue, while I did not. I would advise making sure you have a save in the current version, so you can load it up if you go back and find Feats gone after playing the Time Capsule. And a warning that you are playing at your own risk, until Hinterland has a chance to finish Wintermute Episode 3, and turn their attention to diagnosing the causes of these issues with the Time Capsule and creating a fix for it/them.
  15. Just another lovely day in Mountain Town. Why did I choose to spawn here? Ah, yes. Prepping myself and refreshing my memory of the map, getting ready to stat Wintermute over again, from the start, in prep for Episode 3. Enjoy the snow, It's all Milton gave to me. For days. And days. ❄️ *Walks out of Grey Ma's place* "What a beautiful day! I think I'll go find something to climb, the weather is so nice!" *RNJesus wakes up and looks at me* "Really? You think so?" "Here, have a little of this..." *Looks at RNJ and sticks tongue out* "Alrighty then. Fine. I'm going to the park anyway." 😜 *RNJ seems to be not pleased...* "Here. Have a little of this too, then. Enjoy your day at the park. " 👍
  16. Love how you cherry picked and quoted me out of context there. Very nicely done. My apologies for not agreeing with you, I am sorry if I somehow hurt your feelings by doing so.
  17. I actually prefer the Tools cache first, Clothing second, Food and Weapons about evenly after that, Medical, then firewood last. But that's just my preference, and i stopped actively looking for Prepper's Caches about 1000 hours ago. I only check if I am close to a possible location during my regular travels. Generally, I seem to find them during a harsh blizzard or heavy fog, when the game seems to take pity on my and throw a hatch at my feet. (I run into them... like. literally stub my gal's toes on them in the whiteout, lol!)
  18. I'm with you on that. If they do add "supernatural" creatures, I would be okay with it being a "case of mistaken identity", perhaps. A bear with an old injury, or unusual coat color (like a White Spirit Bear), that might make them look different than the "average run-of-the-mill" bear. But not change their behavior, pathing, or give them fantastical abilities. Same with a wolf, a moose, a deer, a rabbit with white fur and red eyes (run away, run away!). Or, as suggested above, a "special" thing in 4DoN someday, perhaps. But Wendigos as part of the regular Survival and Challenge Mode games? Nupe. Not for me. Perhaps some day when we have full Modding Support, you can create, or ask a modder to create such a thing. So you can play the Mod, if you choose, without expecting everyone to be into the idea.
  19. Because there is a vocal minority, who are more active on the forums here, and on Steam. Look at how many members there are here, and how many people post regularly, either positively or negatively on these forums and Steam, versus the number of copies of the game that have sold. 3.3 million copies sold. A few hundred, or even being generous, a few thousand, people who post regularly, and often redundantly, on both forums. Just because one voice is louder, it does not mean it is the n voice you should always be listening to, or catering to. And after the Vigilant Flame update, there were a good number of threads, on Steam at least, from a very vocal minority, who expressed dislike for the new cooking system. Same for the new UI and radial menu. Making huge changes, again, and reverting things just because a loud minority "screams for it", =/= making more people happy. It could. indeed, have the opposite effect on many players, who are not comfortable posting on forums, or who simply don't care to for whatever reason. Having a discussion about what things we miss or have fond memories of, from older builds is one thing. But turning it into a "The players want it and you should acquiesce to our *demands* because a small number of us who like to make noise about it say so...", is entirely another thing. This. Right here. ^^^ You can chose to play the game the devs have worked their butts off to create for the last 5 years, or you can choose to play something else. My 2¢.
  20. I would rather find a Food Cache over a Firewood Cache any day. Especially a Food Cache with 2 can openers, a whetstone, and several Go Juices. And coffee. The magical, wonderful coffee...
  21. I see the clue, but honestly can't place it. It feels like BR, the climb up to the Rickety Foot Bridge, maybe? But honestly, not sure. Just guessing here, lol.
  22. Started in Pilgrim (June 2016), still play it occasionally, when I want a more chill experience. Maybe the first 100 hours out of over 300 I have played now were mostly Pilgrim. I play mostly Stalker now, some voyageur, Pilgrim when I want to just relax, or go try some silly things out, like climbing everything, everywhere. Interloper never felt good to me, too structured, to rigid, to much min-max for my tastes. Tried some Custom Settings games, never really found any settings I enjoyed as much as vanilla Stalker or Voyageur. Find what works and feels best to you. Singleplayer game. No need to "compete" with anyone else who plays. I know people who have spent thousands of hours playing almost exclusively in Pilgrim Mode, and others who have spent the same number of hours in Voyageur, Stalker or Interloper. And a few who have more hours in Custom Settings games. The game allows each of us to play our own way, at least in Survival mode. Challenge Modes and Wintermute are a bit less varied. Challenge Modes are preset for a curated experience, only one way preset experience mode. Wintemute gives 3 different modes, but again, no custom settings. Find what makes you happiest. Play that. Anyone who tells you to "git gud" needs to "git lost".
  23. Honestly not sure how to take that. Supposed to be funny? Feels a bit creepy to me, and not sure why you quoted me and posted that. But... okay, then.
  24. If I remember correctly, and that is where I think it is, there should be an uprooted tree just past those rocks. But with the fog, it's hard to tell if it is where I am thinking of. That was a good one, took me bit to think of where that might be.
