  1. It's only available on the PC. Because you use special codes to access different versions of The Long Dark. So for instance you put in the name of the version you want to try....followed by the code for it....and it downloads the older version.
  2. On PC you have to enable it through one of the menus. Not sure which one as I don't intend to use it.
  3. Also let's not forget that these are in random spawn locations. So where one might find one...it might not be there in someone elses sandbox.
  4. Love all of this! Having the maps memorized I'd always put mapping on the backburner. Not anymore. So many hyper awesome features! Also big thanks for fixing the Random Bunker in PV.
  5. I have only found the PV Weapons Cache at the base of the rocks...up from the rope climb by the Bear Cave...on the way up to Signal Hill. Or you follow the ridge down from Signal Hill to the bas of the rocks above the placed rope climb. It was always there for me...when it spawned.
  6. Latest...hopefully last Preview Symbol-
  7. Introduction The Bleak Harbinger Challenge can be attempted on any difficulty level if you so choose. The challenge is designed to have you do around half of it with hand crafted ammo. Random Start. Playing it on Pilgrim would result on it being absurdly easy and playing it on Interloper or Deadman would make it rather more difficult. The idea of the challenge is that you want to make your own bullets because it's the ONLY real way to survive. So on any difficulty below Interloper your main goal is to find casings/ammo for Rifle and/or Revolver, find supplies to make gunpowder, gunsmithing books, batteries to precess for lead and a hacksaw. On Interloper your main goal is to make bow and arrows...but once that's done everyone is heading to the same place. Bleak Inlet No matter what difficulty setting you're on you must go to the Echo One Radio Tower and then access the Cannery Workshop where you must do the following: Pilgrim-Stalker: Use up all of your perfect ammo, collect all your casings, use the ammo crafting table etc to make new ammo. How high your gunsmithing skill is will dertermine how good your ammo is. Once you have crafted all your ammo you're ready to go. Interloper+: Survive. From now on everyone is using crafted ammo. The lower the gunsmithing skill the more likely your ammunition will backfire. Hush River Valley The goal for all survivors is to get to the signal fire, gather the supplies...equip the Moose Hide Satchel- except Interloper Plus (I don't know that it's there) and get back out. After that all survivors begin their final journey to- TWM Summit Your goal to complete this challenge is to make it to the TWM Summit. How long will it take? It also makes a great place to start a long term survival sandbox...by getting your gunsmithing skills raised up early.
  8. I sure hope it's a bug because I was just starting to find the PV Weapons Cache more often.
  9. I have had numerous times of Wolves stealing fresh or day old kills that I've harvested but because of blizzard not been able to return to my base camp with. I have seen them from distance steal single pieces or whole quarter bags.
  10. Another Symbol Looks like a symbol for...possibly...I set up a fire/campsite here.
  11. I think it could be a marker for where you've camped in a region...or perhaps to mark some kind of visual marker. An new one has been released that says to me: "This marks where I set up a campfire." https://twitter.com/HinterlandGames/status/1261703240250466305/photo/1
  12. This may be of intrest to you (from a Twitter AMA Raph did very recently): https://twitter.com/deathflowertea/status/1258891048866254848
  13. Awesome news Hinterland! Cannot wait! Especially cannot wait for all the officially supported modding in the future once the base game is complete!
  14. Yes! I dig this. Would be a good challenge!
  15. Keep waiting. Survive. It can take a while. Also on night when it looks like it will be clear, but there are no immediate aurora...wait a hour at a time. The aurora isn't garunteed to start at dusk and go all night. Sometimes it starts at 2 A.M. or some other random time and lasts for a couple of hours only.
  16. My good friend. I think it's best we don't share the new Goat path to the Summit. I often wonder what would've happened if we hadn't shared the first path. But that is in the past- and we're LDRMG and not LD (Time Travel) Specialists.
  17. Here's my most recent "Aww Crap" moment: On my way to my cabin which is the Tail Section
  18. There are a great many ways to simply avoid the Timberwolves entirely even, once I figured it out I had no Timberwolf attacks on the last 2 survivors at all. For the survivor out near the Farmstead for instance...go via barn...with broken sides near the farmstead. Break moral if you have to and then save. Instead of heading to the outbuildings...head to the right to the main road...and then walk up that all the way to the community center. I wasn't touched at all. On the one down by the river I just took the direct route in and back and never saw a single Timberwolf. It's also about keeping an eye out for the nearest Timberwolf and avoiding it/altering path before it sees you. That way they never get close enough to trigger.
  19. It works once Hinterland realize and change the note or artwork of the keypad. But it really works because the coding is locked to the need of having the note with the code in your inventory and not actually typing it into the keypad.
  20. Let's not forget that The Ravine now connects to Bleak Inlet and from Bleak Inlet to Forlorn Muskeg. Blake Inlet...now there's an end boss.
  21. Timberwolf Mountain on the way up to where the engine is...on the first shelf with the wolves...and the cargo containers just above Crystal Lake. You can see the rope mounting/climb anchor rock in one of the pictures.
  22. Here's the full context of the Cannery Shortcut twitter conversation so there is no more misunderstanding: https://twitter.com/DakotaLDE/status/1205178148985303040 https://twitter.com/DakotaLDE/status/1205178167566065664 https://twitter.com/DakotaLDE/status/1205178895806287872 https://twitter.com/RaphLife/status/1205498007984263168 https://twitter.com/DakotaLDE/status/1205527167959875584 https://twitter.com/DamianMcAnders/status/1206003277285842945 https://twitter.com/DakotaLDE/status/1206063362439729153 https://twitter.com/RaphLife/status/1206138441735507969 https://twitter.com/DamianMcAnders/status/1206240914332508166 Clearly both DakotaLDE and Myself (when I Join) are talking about the Cannery...not the obvious joining of upper and lower Bleak Inlet. It is clear when Raph responds to DakotaLDE that he understands that...he then drops a hint to both of us that there is a hint to the shortcut in the trailer itself. I'm now going to ask for further Clarification from Raph...(either by continuing this Conversation or starting another) that we're really, truly on the same page to make it absolutely 100 percent certain.
  23. Sorry I can't give up because of the added Tweet context in my post above. Context is key.
  24. Me too. But since Raph made it clear to me that it's a shortcut beside the one to connect upper and lower Bleak Inlet- and we were both on the same page of it being a shortcut back to the Workshop...then I'm going to keep looking myself until the cows come home. And since he specifically stated in context that it was about a shortcut in the Cannery to make getting back to the Workshop easier...the only hint is the one I shared the screen grab of- since the rest of the shots in the Cannery are beauty shots...and not ones showing movement of the character towards a specific area of the Cannery that is not related to the regular route to get to the first placed rope leading to the first long route to the Workshop. Also when I responded that i had had a rope spawn in the Workshop itself so that points to there being another use for a rope OTHER than joining Upper and Lower Bleak Inlet...he hearted that response.
