  1. I imagined the yackity sax theme playing over that clip.
  2. The big difference between the the moose respawning and every other animal, is that the Moose is a sort of random- wandering spawn. The moose respawned, just maybe not in that region again, or in the spawn spot in that region. As said above, with the moose, it's best to not wait for them to return. Instead continue your journey and maybe you'll cross paths again.
  3. I tried to do Interloper+ Endless Night and barely survived 1 day. It's really hard to loot the interiors of buildings in the dark, without matches....
  4. That super sucks dude. Though, IMO, I wouldn't call either of those cases you mentioned a "glitch"; you were going somewhere the player wasn't designed to be able to to go, and got stuck. Crappy, but eh...
  5. I kinda like this idea. Maybe at the very least make it a custom setting you can change that adjusts your survivor's starting knowledge.
  6. I think right now the option is to use the custom mode to make things much harder. You can even making it nighttime all the time now (very difficult on interloper settings if you don't have a light source. Makes it almost impossible to loot the buildings) I haven't heard of them making a hard standard difficulty though
  7. ....really?! (sits down to think about the decisions she made in life to end up here)
  8. I agree about the Challenges needing a better understanding of where everything is. But there are a few tricks to help you navigate in game while you're learning the regions. Surveying with the maps can really help you visualize the areas. And once your map is filled out, if you're still lost you can use spray paint! Several of the symbols will appear on your charcoal map after you apply them. Remember the sun rises in the East and Sets in the West
  9. I have actually made arrows in real life for the traditional style archery I do in medieval reenactment. I can tell you it is fairly difficult even with specialized tools and supplies for making the shafts and fletching. I've always felt that they made arrow and bow crafting too easy really. Just making a shift that's balances and won't shatter when shot. Same with the bow actually. The distance the in game bow can achieve while still having enough stopping power to kill a moose? That has to be damn near a 100# draw! I could go on, but I know it's a game and I'm happy with TLD as it is. Just thought I'd throw in my 5 cents about arrow crafting.
  10. Same. In some of the regions I don't play in as often I'll whip out the in game map and survey a bit to get my bearings. But I know these areas so well now, it's not often needed.
  11. Man, that'd be kind of cool though. Maybe only with bears, but a special type of wound affliction that requires a sewing kit or fishing tackle to cure. Then a status called "stitches" and if you climb or fall you have a RNG chance of ripping your stitches and having new bleed out and need to re-stitch yourself! It's take a few days to go away.... Just a fun "what if" I by no means think Hinterland needs that, but it would make things challenging
  12. I catch myself collecting more than I need as well. I like to have at least 3 on hand at any given time for emergency rabbit hunting or wolf diversions. It seems if I need rocks and don't already have some, there are none to be found! But I'll occasionally be doing inventory management and realize I have 10 rocks !! way too many hun, drop em!
  13. I agree with @odizzido that the devs likely are happy with nutrition as it is, but some tweaking to how starving affects health would be nice. I personally just don't allow myself to play that way. If my survivor has food and is about to hit 0 calories, they eat. I don't hoard food for sleep time to meta game. Mostly because I know if I was literally starving and had a candy bar, I'd eat it, not save it for bedtime. Green Hell is a fun game if you want more nutrition in your survival! Super brutal game too.
  14. I just repair and hoard hides and cured guts all over the island. Now something I will do is repair and store the really good found clothing in the game as a back up. I mostly do this for gloves and headwear, as those get destroyed more in animal struggles. So I'll keep ski gloves, wool torques, gauntlets, trail boots, ect This way if I do loose something to a bear, I've got a quick backup while I'm crafting a new garment.
  15. @metlman72 A trick I've become fond of for avoid wolves: Throw a rock far away, but close enough that the wolf will detect it. The wolf will trot over to investigate! Do this several times luring him farther and farther out of your path and crouch as you walk around. It's important to crouch AND have no meat on you. This is a great way to lure them out of a bottle neck you need to pass through. You can also throw a rock around blind corners that you think a wolf is behind to draw him out. This technique once perfected is also great for lining wolves and bears up for a good kill shot later on. Hope this helps!
  16. I have a full time job, raise chickens and enjoy lots of hobbies. So I often only get to play TLD for an hour most days (or if I'm out of work sick I can splurge on 3 hours! Yay!) Even so, I don't see an issue with certain areas being harder. Hell, Bleak inlet kicks my butt more often than not. I agree with @hozz1235 if it's giving you anxiety that you can't manage a new region (or new mechanic, whatever) Try a custom mode. If you tweak it right you can all but make yourself a god! Good luck out there @Govner
  17. Just curious about how ya'll play in regards to carrying capacity. I've seen streamers have their survivor so over encumbered that they pick up a pack of card board matches and cannot move another step! I typically stay in the green on weight, if I go over I find a safe spot to look over my goodies to see what I could live without. I very rarely travel over weight. I usually have to be near my destination and what I'm carrying is essential.
  18. Do we know if there are any plans to make a part 3 for the Hunted Challenges? If that's the end of be fine with it, but the " to be continued..." Is a bit misleading if so. Still really enjoyed both challenges. I tried searching the forums for an answer, but the threads that touched on this are years old. I'm interested to know if anyone has some hot new intel.
  19. Also the Ravine zone just next to Mystery lake often has lots of saplings of both kinds AND don't have wolves. It's a great resource gathering/hunting spot. Just past the Dam along the railroad
  20. @mayimbe same! I love forcing my survivor to stay in these more barren areas. It's a nice challenge!
  21. Best birthday present ever! Thanks Hinterland! ❤️
  22. @ManicManiacthanks! I mean, what are the odds!?
  23. I cannot believe that it dropped today because, it's my BIRTHDAY! Thank you for the best present ever Hinterland!
  24. The beauty in the world Hinterland has created sometimes will still strike me so abruptly even after 600+ hours of gameplay under my belt. I got caught with some bad weather rolling in at dusk on Timberwolf Mountain, so instead of risking getting lost in a zero visibility blizzard and gathered some quick firewood and found a cozy nook in some rocks and snuggled into my bearskin bedroll. When I awoke it was just before true dawn and the sky was some breathtaking that I walked out, despite the cold, just to enjoy the slow change of colors as the sun rose. This game is fun and all, but it is also truly beautiful..
