  1. My video card is Intel and also I noticed about the 'shadows vibrations', which is quite annoying. I thought it was a problem of my Intel graphics (integrated GPU's are weak compared with video cards with dedicated memory) but now, reading this post, I see it happens with other operative systems or stronger video cards like nvidia... so yes, looks like is not a fault of the video card. And now that this was mentioned and this thread is under the "technical discussion" forum, I don't know if it is possible to have some 'feedback' about this.
  2. No "official" mods, at least.
  3. Open Steam, right-click on The Long Dark > Properties > Local Files (Tab) > Verify integrity of game files.

    Hi

It is already in the wishlist section.
  5. I've always thought it is more "contemporary", maybe between 2020 - 2030. Lily's argument is really good to speculate a date. In her grave is written: 1969 - 1985. I'd say Grey Mother born around 1940 and she gave birth in her 30's. That means Grey Mother has around 80 years old (she seems an old woman, at least that's my perception). Assuming this as true, the date of TLD could be perfectly, let's say, 2022. About the computers with the floppy discs, that's probably because Great Bear Island is stuck in the 90's, as was said in a previous post. Don't forget all the mentions about the recession and how the island was affected.
  6. I was just highlighting that the narrative could explain why the map... anyway WINTERMUTE acts like a tutorial for beginners players, moving around the regions without any previous knowledge would be really heard (I can't imagine how they'll find the Spear crossing two regions). But I agree map shouldn't be discovered in "hard" difficulty, for veteran players with experience in the game that wants to play WINTERMUTE as well it's too easy and doesn't offer an additional challenge.
  7. Mackenzie holds a map of Great Bear Island while he is in the hangar, it could explain this... besides I think that having the environment already discovered helps new players in the Story Mode.
  8. That sounds like a second "Carter Hydro Dam" in the game but more creepy... and not sure if I'd like to explore it after the "lights" in the sky.

    Hi

Hey, welcome! Just like there are cat tail plants, berries would be good as harvestable resource too. Oh yes, more wildlife! This is one of the things more requested. Variety is good. I think this will never happen...
  10. Wow, now I'm excited to see these projects! Thanks for the reply.
  11. @Looper I agree with you and I'd like to see all those "experiences" introduced in the midgame too. Make it different doesn't mean make it harder. So, if "challenging" means that wolves are more aggressive and they''ll smell you for kilometers that's what I mean isn't enjoyable (at least for me); keep a fire because of a deep blizzard or balance the diet because you ate too much meat (and maybe you even have parasites) or intercept broken messages during auroras makes the game different (and challenging) with new elements without "struggling" all time and even be stressful.
  12. Nice suggestions, I agree with you about your point of view of the game.
  13. Nice! Is this Coastal Highway?
  14. Yes, I read the thread and I understand what the autor says . Maybe I haven't expressed myself well. I'm not going to talk about what has already been said. I just wanted to highlight something you commented in your previous post: I can speak for myself, but also I know other players (including youtubers) with more than 100 hours, or 200 hours, playing between Voyageur and Stalker because Interloper ("very hard") can be frustrating. Even knowing "everything", play in a constant challenge may not be the point of many players. And again, for those who want a "real" survivor game, it should be done through customizable mechanics IMO. So, I don't think it's matter of hours played.
  15. I have to disagree. I have played TLD more than 100 hours (probably you have more hours played than me) and I don't feel it is "too easy" playing in some difficulties. Yes, for new players it can be a hardcore survival game, for veterans this game doesn't have 'secrets' (they know all the places, how to do this... etc.). Usually I've always played in Voyageur, now I'm starting to play more in Stalker (which are 'normal' and 'hard' difficulties) and personally I don't feel is "too easy", in fact, I played once Interloper and didn't enjoy it. Some people want a (extreme) challenge but others, instead, want to play 'coexisting' with the Nature, after hours and hours played. This doesn't mean that they (developers) shouldn't care about the "small percentage" of players that want an extreme survival experience, maybe introducing more custom settings in custom games if Interloper isn't enough for them. In the end what I want to say is that not everyone enjoy a hard, difficult, tough survival game, regardless if they are new to the game or have spent many hours playing TLD.
  16. This was requested a lot (and I would also like to see this in the game) but it seems that is difficult to do and isn't a priority right now. I hope they can do in a future though.
  17. Same here: hunting rabbits always was a 'hard' task... not anymore (and I appreciate it).
  18. There's already a challenge for that. Personally I wouldn't like it in sandbox, I prefer to move freely around the world, that's my opinion.
  19. I played 5 hours since the update was released and, although I had several times the "sprain risk" warning, I still didn't have any sprains...so I don't know how "broken" it is, honestly.
  20. Multiplayer: I don't see it. DLC: yes!
  21. You said several times that you would like to make other games and that Hinterland doesn't become "The Long Dark Studio". What kind of video game (or genre) would you like to make in the future as Hinterland's second game?
  22. This would be a good question for the Milton Mailbag .
  23. From what I've read, they don't have plans to add more firearms to the game, but who knows in the future... personally I'd like to see Spence's Spear in survival mode too, as a new weapon.
  24. They are not going to add more guns to the game, the revolver was the last addition (at least for long time).
