  1. Quonset Garage: two workbench, fire barrel, a bed, fishing huts near, houses around... I think it's a pretty good place.
  2. Being overloaded can increase the risk of sprains, probably to prevent players from carrying too much weight.
  3. Okay, okay... they reworked the sound effects and I'm starting to think you are right... I keep hearing these "wind/wave" sound effects weird for me and a bit annoying but I guess it's a matter of time getting used to. I'll have to pay more attention next time and not confuse sounds again, lol.
  4. No, the headphones that I use are stereo. I'm not playing a custom game, it was in a stalker game. And yes @MarrowStone, I have the same problem with challenge modes. I'm pretty sure (I can be wrong tho) that is not a sound "similar" to waves, is like if the sound of waves that should be reproduced when you are near the sea, instead, happens in all regions of the game.
  5. The sound of the wind is continuous, this comes and goes. And I believe it is the same sound of Coastal Highway, when you are near to the sea.
  6. Although I reported this bug already, I'm going to post this to see if anyone else has heard wave sounds in non-coastal regions like Mountain Town, Mystery Lake or Pleasant Valley. I think this strange bug appeared with the new update or hotfix, not sure which, but before never heard waves while I was walking by the railroad tracks to the Camp Office. And it's kinda annoying hearing "waves" while I'm surrounded by mountains. Hope this can be solved soon. Thanks.
  7. Just yesterday I was watching a streamer attacked by an invisible wolf too in Milton Basin. Looks like this bug appeared with the new update.
  8. Personally I also like those "tedious tasks". Is like a moment of 'relax' after a wolf attack or spot a bear. I enjoy about TLD (besides other things) the quiet times: repair my clothes or clean the rifle after a long walk is great . Lol!
  9. I didn't have much time to play the game myself since the new update but reading comments here and on Steam and watching some streamers play TLD seems that the 'sprains system' is broken (literally), you get one almost doing whatever and looks like Astrid/Will are made of glass. It happens too often and, in the end, the game is less enjoyable.
  10. Oh well, we can always use water purification tablets.
  11. I don't think the water found there is cleaner than that of the toilets in the houses.
  12. I don't see this neither. The point of 'survival mode' is the open world. This would be something more suitable for Challenges or Story Mode. Maybe in 'custom rules' can be something that the player can enable or not (and could be interesting as more challenging experience) but definitely I wouldn't like to see it by default in 'sandbox' mode.
  13. I have never stopped to think about this, but since you say it I like the idea. Would be really useful and it would relieve a lot of weight. Cooking system was pretty 'simple' before the update (I ate many times raw meat) and was clear that it had to be improved. Sounds a good idea seeing the "slots" system implemented for crafting too.
  14. I’d like to see that too. He seems a man that hides something. Also I’m curious how the fight with the old bear started, why the military insignia and know what he knows about the geomagnetic disaster and the message "Wintermute".
  15. Tell me. There's nothing more frightening than seeing the silhouette of a bear appearing through the fog . It happened to me in CH in the upper roads where there is no escape. Made me so nervous that didn't find the trailer with the fog and had to clim the rope. About the new item, looks like some kind of energizer (maybe a boost). By the way, we can also see the revolver in that gif .
  16. I like to read every Milton Mailbag, it's really interesting: it answers many questions that we (the players) have and keeps the community updated with info about the game.
  17. Trying to survive the winter in the Quonset Garage (Coastal Highway).
  18. The Long Dark is a great survival experience but also mixes some elements of 'terror', things that can give you some chills, for example, hear wolves howling. Besides that, I have the same feeling when I visit some places, or I enter in some buildings. I feel like I'm in a horror movie. I'll name the two places that are the most disturbing for me: Carter Hydro Dam and The Riken. The first time I was in the Carter Hydro Dam I had such a bad time, really a bad time expecting to see a wolf jumping towards me. I was certainly 'tense' as I descended to the lower levels of the dam through that hallway. Fortunately Fluffy wasn't there (phew!). Not only because of this, the atmosphere of a big abandoned building, the sound of the iron and metal creaking... and just silence... really disturbing. The Riken is the other place. Yes, is way smaller than the Dam but it has some special effect that makes this old whaling ship really creepy. The sound of the old ship as if it were in motion, the music that sounds when you're inside, the frozen corpse and appearance of this ship in general makes The Riken the second most disturbing place of The Long Dark. I have to say that these two places are probably two of my favorite sites of the game. 😆 So, I would like to know what are the most disturbing and creepy places of TLD for you people, if they are these two or different ones and why and hear some experiences.
