  1. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how the next episodes elaborate on it.
  2. Yeah @MueckE. Nice job explaining! Your definition was definitely "In context". Sorry for late reply even though I posted this thread haha. I am definitely familiar with the silence of winter. Last winter in particular I would regularly go out in the woods to take wildlife photos, the atmosphere was very "TLD/wintermute".
  3. Beautiful. Definitely captures the game's tone.
  4. Haha, I meant both in conjunction. The missing "meat" label is probably just an art asset mistake, but it adds a fun ambiguity to it.
  5. Check the description for cans of beans, then read ingredients.
  6. I love how he just starts laughing while poor Astrid in the background screams bloody murder. Funny juxtaposition.
  7. It was sleeping, the pose might not be strong enough to register. Bears dont die randomly. This might still be a bug because I thought they weren't supposed to sleep in occupied caves.
  8. Iowa. Cold winters but no mountains, or bear. Swarms of deer though. I find the Pacific Northwest very charming and that's half of why I play this game.
  9. Amazing encounter. Ive been charged before the bear couldnt quite see me over a ridge before so this is quite exceptional.
  10. @rocknrolllgod, do you have a game controller, or any other input device plugged into your computer? I don't know if TLD is one of these games, but some games will default to a controller if you have one plugged in. Some games also occasionally break and mistake your keyboard as a controller too. Try restarting pc with the controller unplugged if this is the case.
  11. The can only says there's beans and molasses, but the player chatacter sees pork in it. If normal pork was in it then why would a company not just say it? Because its could be long pork! The description says, "Looks" like pork, suggesting it might not actually be it... (Long pork is a term for human flesh) hope that helps
  12. Long Pork has already been in the game... Its all in the discrepancy between the ingredients and the description. "Beans, Water, Sugar, Salt" Vs. "Beans in molasses, with bits of what looks like pork."
  13. I'm all for more passive actions, but idk if eating/drinking is a good canidate. Itd be cool if you could eat certain items like cattails in stacks that way, haha. Having to tap "eat" every time can be dulling and it makes sense that it would take a lot of time to chew through the tough stalks. But I'm fine with the current system due to the fact 1 minute in game is actually much longer than that. One advantage of the current mechanics is that eating partial food items is as simple as pressing escape at the right time and you dont get distracted from something in the process because you dont have to wait too long. I wish writing in your in-game journal would slow time down to a 1:1 scale. I like using my journal while waiting for my food to cook but I sometimes end up burning the stuff 'cause time flies when you're writing.
  14. Does tall grass/cattails affect how well wildlife sees you? Does birch bark tea work while you have an affliction such as food poisoning? Or does it only work alongside the conditions of normal health regen?
  15. 'Go!' Is pretty nice, It is like the inverse of coffee. You use coffee to prepare, and 'Go!' When preperation leads to desperation. Ive yet to know the actual consequences of the headache affliction though.
  16. But it would be nice to correct any campfires that you want to slightly move.
  17. The issue is how will it fit on the current UI, I dont want it to be a square along the rest of the Campfire actions because I would certainly click it accidentally. Also, dismantling shouldnt be an option if any food or cooking utensils are on the fire.
  18. The main issue with not being able to dismantle campfires is that if you place a campfire in one of your favourite spots and you dont get it "just right" you wont be able to replace it with one that is placed in a much better wind resistance spot.
  19. Trying to catch all buffer memories makes a nice quest. Mapping 100 percent is just wayyy too daunting. The first 50 days are filled with clothing and bow crafting. Not much to do after about day 60-80 when thats all done. Except the mapping of course.
  20. Nah, challenge modes have the issue as well. As for the droning sound, I do know that if you have the surround sound enabled on a headset it can cause the game to sound like you have your ears attached to pipes.
  21. Are you using a "surround sound" headset? Im personally having issues with blizzard sounds not playing during them. Not headset related.
  22. But I had just seen it at trappers when I quoted it, was in the hunted part 2 to check out rifle when I found it by the fireplace.
  23. Trappers cabin has one saying "Stand in a cave until the stars" or something so yeah I think ur right. The note is about how getting older directs your focus towards doing things for the future of humanity and not just for yourself or something like that.
  24. You don't need a big bed when you're gonna have to cuddle to prevent frostbite anyways. But let's just settle with @kristaok's theory. 🤣
  25. Yeah, some of us dont have the option to toy with monitor settings every time they open particular games. The ingame brightness slider wont help cause I have the outdoor night time brightness adjusted just the way I want it already. I just shrug it off and use a lantern since fuel is renewable now, but it gets annoying having to turn it off every time I want to perform an action longer than 10 minutes. Perhaps instead of automating it and doing tests in-house, community members that find it particularly obtrusive can volunteer to help somehow? Like with a debug test branch? I honestly have no idea how that would work but Im just throwing it out there.
