  1. If that was on the road by the credit union then that's a bug. I've heard it there too multiple times. There's a deer carcass there in wintemute that a wolf eats.
  2. I have max settings and am even running at 4k on a 1080p monitor to try an alleviate the lack of it to little or no effect. I've tried to use the nvidia control panel to force fxaa but It doesnt seem to make a difference either (although I could be using it wrong). Does anyone know any solutions I could try to get smoother edges?
  3. I love the sound effect, scares me every time, and you too it seems, haha. Congrats.
  4. That was my favourite comic in that book. And that was one of my favourite books. In fact it's right next to me, haha.
  5. Love your new profile picture reflecting how you've been "removed?" lol I was worried about the saves too, I wish I could participate but my internet is super slow.
  6. I never spend much time in the lodge, but it was a base of operations for several people who had guns and the like, maybe some are still alive and raiding your stuff muahaha. In all seriousness though, occasionally I'd stop and look around when wandering because I swear I'd hear footsteps that weren't my own stalking me. Mostly around Timber wolf Mountain, Unnamed Pond (this place has had a history of bears walking underground though), and Skeeter's Ridge. But the footsteps seem to really just be ice/snow settling or falling things from nearby trees.
  7. Thanks for the recap, Im assuming the man we see won't leave the confines of the shelter due to his people needing him but the smoking woman definitely looks freely mobile. She also is seen sitting in Pleasent Valley Homestead and holding a bow in the poster. There are arrow targets behind the barn, do you think she'll be teaching Astrid archery there?
  8. I like your analysis. I'm inclined to believe its based loosely on multiple planes. However, it reminds me of a Douglas DC-8, the windows and nose shape. Do you think Timberwolf Mountain will have its plane parts rearranged to account for the plane parts we find in the story mode?
  9. I still don't like that theory, its just so far away and I like to call the one in the cave Frosty. There used to be only one wolf in winding river, but sometimes there's two now so I just assume she joined the ranks just outside the dam.
  10. This Topic is for for anyone who would like to discuss speculation on the upcoming story mode update. Lets get this hype train going! Feel free to post whatever comes to your mind. !POSSIBLE SPOILERS! Take a look at this BEAUTIFUL poster. Three things I'd like to point out. 1. The Plane: This is very similar to the plane we see at the top of Timber-wolf Mountain, could this be the missing front half of the same plane? All the way in Pleasant Valley?! What a crash! 2. The Flare: Look behind Astrid, there's a flare that we also see in the trailer. Do we have to save someone with a limited amount of time after we see it fired? Or do they keep re-firing it if we ignore it the first time? That might be interesting to see how that works. 3. ?!: Look behind Astrid, no, not the same Astrid, the little one at the center. There's what looks to be a teenager. Interesting to see a character so young in this harsh and unforgiving world. I wonder what significance they have in the story.
  11. Great announcement! I'm very proud to have been along for this journey since 2014 and even more proud to see more people picking up this title in more recent times! You have created a game, -no-. crafted an experience AND a community around it that has resonated with countless people.
  12. Nice work! What is the song included in it?
  13. @hozz1235, @Ice Hole, I did some messing around on another survival run and it won't let any other non-food items snap to a stove, strange. Why the battery then? If you put a cattail fluff on the stove temporarily it turns red and looks like a hotdog though haha.
  14. Hello, I noticed new sounds of various fauna keep making their way into the game, does your audio team record these themselves? If so, are there any species/sounds they captured that they are particularly proud of?
  15. Most memorable are the crates in the Spence homestead by the forge and the crates in the middle of the maintenance shed. Desolation point hibernia processing has some areas inaccessible without breaking stuff down as well (I think it was one of the first maps to include this).
  16. The tinder plugs your character starts with could be replaced with cash to better reflect them being unprepared for their situation.
  17. @LowSpeedHighDrag, Oh, I had no idea that you may be new to the regions themselves! This should be fun. I dont really want to spoil stuff for you since it's a wonderful map and certain techniques within the game are borderline fun-spoiling so Ill only answer what's important. Resources are scarce in timberwolf, yes, but certain things across the map can be opened with a hacksaw for loot. The Hut is hard to miss, it's by the lake you'll most likely walk by on your way to the chasm cave. Use your map. The cave will be in this ravine thingy and is arguably warmer than the Mountaineering hut. Do NOT freeze in your sleep. Your Aurora could take as long as 5+ days to appear so don't run out of before then in this desolate region. Bring the rifle if you have to but the bow is far better for this situation due to its weight. The bunker in pleasant valley by the entrance to the mountain region has not been removed, idk about any other.
  18. @LowSpeedHighDrag, I didn't get near as much crafted and I left my rifle in Pleasent Valley so I could bring more food to Timberwolf. Be aware you can't climb the ropes overencumbered. Youll have to craft arrowheads at the forge in desolation point if you want more, but 4 arrows can last you a decent amount of time if you dont hit rocks, ice, or trees. Also, the map actually shows where the buffer memories are! Be sure to check that. I recommend going the starving route for food once you get to the cave. I didnt stay in the Hut since theres a bear between the cave and it. You don't want to be attacked by an aurora bear. Flares won't work and theyll almost be on top of you again before you can bandage.
  19. Good luck waiting for the aurora in chasm cave. Auroras seemed evey other night for me until then. In some regions you can get both buffer memories in the time of 1 aurora if you pack light, saves time. Bring a hacksaw with you at timberwolf. I also noticed you dont get parasites risk in archivist.
  20. Did the car battery Snap to a cooking slot?
  21. I just imagine the bushes have lots of thorns and would injure you and tear up your clothes.
  22. That's a good theory @UTC-10. I didnt consider that.
  23. I think it's just right when encumbered, but needs a tiny bit lowered when not. Or maybe I've just been unlucky and my limited perception is inflating the problem.
  24. Wolves dont seem to be running away far enough when startled, probably a pathfinding issue. I used to love that reigon until up to 3 wolves started "puppy-guarding" my exit daily. They used to just mind their business out on the ice. I think they could smell me from there or something and were always stuck investigating just outside the door.
  25. I usually leave it out of respect for anyone who managed to hold onto their faith after such a disaster and might need it. However, books make great firestarters and I wont hesitate to burn it If I really need to.
