  1. I finally decided to craft the travois and it's been priceless so far. I killed a moose up by the cabin in Broken Railroad and came back the next morning to pick up the whole moose in one shot. In mystery lake I went to go check up on a few tip ups, and after killing a wolf and scaring 2 deer into more wolves, I was able to carry the fish, the 2 deer, and the wolf back to the cabin in 1 trip.
  2. Yeah, right now I just eat the carrots and potatoes because I think they are only used in certain rare recipes. A few can recipes would be nice.
  3. Bannock just never seemed worth it. It takes some prep time, a half hour to cook, and isn't it like only 300 calories? Isn't the acorn bannock like 425 calories? Maybe some of these recipes can have a buff that slows the rate of calorie drain for a few hours. I guess that's another option.
  4. 1. When breaking down certain objects like clothing, for example, a pair of gloves will 10 take minutes for 1 piece of cloth while a hoodie will take 30 minutes for 1 piece of cloth. Considering that the hoodie is much larger and takes 3x as long as the gloves, why are the yields the same? This is just one example. 2. If we look at the Lily's pancake recipe, it takes acorn grounds, peaches, syrup, oil, and maybe something else. I forget. If 4 acorns are 320 calories, peaches are 500 calories, and regular pancakes are 625 calories, Lily's pancakes are only 1250 calories. This means that you are probably better off just eating the acorns and the peaches on their own, and then just making regular pancakes. On top of that, you need a hammer and a skillet. You need fuel. You need water. You need to cook 4 acorns. You need to make the acorn grounds. You need to prep it and you need to cook it. None of these things are a major issue but might need a little tweak here and there. Maybe the hoodie can give you 2 pieces of cloth. Maybe Lily's pancakes only need s half a can of peaches. Maybe bannock's calories should be buffed a little bit. (I will never make bannock. I would rather cook pancakes or just save the ingredients) Or, maybe prepping can be done without needing a fire burning.
  5. There just isn't enough leather.
  6. I will never make acorn grounds because they require the heavy hammer. A few more options would be great.
  7. I will rarely use the rifle holder or tool belt if we don't get at least one or more additional accessory slots. The crampons, insulation, and satchel are priceless.
  8. 1. Wolves reacting differently to decoys. If I remember correctly, if you dropped a decoy the wolf would eat it on the spot. Now the wolf will just pick it up and run away. Plus, when putting a carcass, meat, or guts on the ground, is there a chance that a wolf will just come take it if they were close enough. 2. Snares no longer break. I started a stalker run recently and I have not had any snares break. Not a single one. Definitely NOT complaining. 3. More maple saplings BUT less birch saplings. I understand that HL added more maple because of the travois, but I've stumbled on one lonely birch sapling several times now. Are there less birch saplings in the game? 4. Scent. If I'm carrying 1 piece of cooked meat wolves will come barreling right towards me. In the past, I know that this was an issue with bear meat, but now it seems to be happening with all cooked meat.
  9. This is probably the #1 thing that I hope is added to the game before it's completed.
  10. I like the idea of a shotgun, especially if the cougar is still coming to the game. It can have 2 types of ammo. Buckshot and birdshot. If people are worried about it being too powerful, just make buckshot scarce. This way you will save buckshot for encounters with timberwolves, cougars, and bears. And then you can use birdshot to hunt ptarmigan and rabbits, or to scare away wolves. Killing ptarmigan as they fly away would be great.
  11. I haven't crafted it yet, but I'm not surprised that it can be a little annoying to maneuver. Walking over the slightest bump can be a problem sometimes.
  12. Absolutely! I swear I came across 1 pickup truck that actually allows this and I believe it was in Blackrock.
  13. I agree. If I forget to bring cans to an ammunition bench, I will NEVER go back to my main base and then all the way back to an ammunition bench just to craft noisemakers. I will always wait till the next time I need ammo and that can be quite a while. Plus, after such a long wait, there is a big chance that I would forget the cans again.
  14. I used 5 on my first survival playthrough and I played on Voyager. 1. I used one at the bottom of the rope by the campsite in Milton. I primarily used it to transfer most of my loot from Milton to the Lake Cabin in Mystery Lake, and it literally took forever. After that I used it to store water, some cattails, a bedroll, and other misc. items. 2. I used one at the Lake Cabin in Mystery Lake for general storage. 3. I used one outside of the cave in Milton that leads to HRV. I used this to store a bunch of charcoal, spray paint, water, cattails, snares, etc. 4. I used 2 outside of my cave base inside HRV for general storage.
  15. Personally, i like the idea. However, that's only if Hinterland ever adds another mode that mixes story elements into survival mode. Things like human enemies, NPC's, missions, scripted events, etc. If they ever did that then I can see 'sanity' being implemented in a way that makes sense.

Still hoping this becomes a thing! 😊

I always thought that Desolation Point should have more ships/buildings/stuff. It is an entire 'whaling industry' after all.
  18. In Desolation Point the connected trailers with all of the broken beds has a bug. If you walk through one of the doors it's the trashy connected trailers like usual, but if you crouch and go through the door it's a completely different and nicer regular trailer.
  19. I know that some people think that the water purification tablets are useless, but I love them. Right now, they spoil surprisingly fast (bug?} so I always use them ASAP. However, if the devs allow us to use the thermos to collect water from a stream, for example, then it might be worth holding onto a few for long trips or emergencies.
  20. I wouldn't mind having the option to hunt the Darkwalker, a Yeti, and/or some kind of creatures from Canadian folk tales.
  21. Hey look, it's Master Zak himself!
  22. The Salt says that it's used for 'preserving', so I wonder if there is going to be a way to preserve food better in the future. If they eventually add a way to preserve meat, then maybe they will also add airtight jars to store ingredients/meals.
  23. I agree. The skill takes FOREVER to upgrade, and the books do little to nothing.
  24. I will buy ANY and ALL content created for this game.
