Definitely not a bad question, especially because there is a general lack of disctinction between the DLC items and those that are not DLC, just new in survival only since the Wintermute/Survival split. I've learned to always clarify what people mean by 'DLC' because it's not always clear.

I've had an idea for more than a year to have a game of TLD "I Have Never" (aka Never Have I Ever) on the forum, but I put if off because some platforms didn't have access to some of the new things yet so it seemed more polite to wait. This is basically exactly the same idea, great minds think alike! Nice one! I think the 'drop decoy' mechanic was stronger in previous versions. It's a bit of a legacy feature now IMO and I don't think I've ever used it on purpose either. I have never made a snow shelter either, although I've dismantled a lot of them (thanks, snow shelter bug!) I have never had dysentery, an infection or cabin fever.

@Smellyfries Ah, yeah that sounds frustrating. I only used my bow on them, and that worked fine if I aimed through the snow to where I knew the body was.

Not at all. Citric acid occurs "in a variety of fruits and vegetables" Grapes aren't citrus fruit. Maybe you meant grapefruits, which are citrus and very different from grapes.

They're usually at the beginning of a week, a Monday or sometimes Tuesday, rather than the end of a week, but yeah around the Dec 5 - 10 sort of mark historically.

I know right? It's strange and brilliant that there's this area outside of any of the playable regions that we can see but never get to. We know every inch of Great Bear, except for there. What's out there? Presumably someone in wizard mode/dev console could fly up through the hole and see?

As TLD fans we all have a love of spending hours in the wilderness of Great Bear. I know many of us are into outdoor and survival hobbies outside of the game, too, and are kind enough to share stories and photos of beautiful countryside from all around the world. It makes sense that outdoorsy, countryside types would be into TLD. But it also makes sense that people who don't live among nature might play TLD to compensate and experience something different. I can imagine a thing where icons for any afflictions you have flash up on the sleep menu. A bit like how your food and water meters show up when you're eating or drinking. And you still could sleep, but at least you're being shown your afflictions right as you're ready to hit 'sleep'.

I did have something TLD download a few weeks ago, but I was also rearranging my Steam files at the time and redownloading this and that, so I thought it might just have been me. I didn't notice any difference in gameplay, I guess some downloads are just behind-the-scenes things

2.24 was first released in September, it was a single-bug hotfix https://hinterlandforums.com/forums/topic/44075-the-long-dark-updated-to-v224 It arrived for me on Steam in September. What platform are you using?
