  1. I felt that👍a handful of times my trip was ruined in a similar manner. Thank you for sharing!
  2. Well, I guess you *could* clean it up by harvesting everything harvest able. I mean it's a start, but I doubt hinterland will go any further than what is there already. Their priority seems at the moment wintermute and with that, perhaps, a new region will open up? They're a little quiet with episode progress updates:)
  3. I got it on 20th, but started playing next weekend I think. After that, it's been on and off. If I started it up during weekdays, it's about an hour after work here and there.
  4. @Old Hermita broom, o deer! 😁when I see one, I see 1x reclaimed wood @ElleJoyI meant in real life. If your plane crashed and you got some supplies ready after surviving so many days, only thing you would think about is finding more people and/or your way back home, not settling down in the wilderness littered with corpses and evil wolves. But in the game, yes I guess.
  5. I'm using it through epic launcher and you need to start epic to be able to start TLD. After the game launched, epic can be closed. Now that I think about it, I am unsure whether or not epic tracks game usage when offline or closed. When I launch the game, I usually turn off internet and sometimes epic launcher too, although it's impotent without internet. Could I maybe have 6,000 hours instead of 137 that epic logged while only being active? I do not know..
  6. I usually hate to take apart tools. Never know if I decide to do 4,000 day tour and might need all those tools.
  7. Too tedious. You are temporary encroaching on an abandoned structure in order to survive and move on shortly in the hopes of finding normal life again. Fixing up cabinet doors or straightening up pictures or making beds would be the last thing on my mind if I were in that situation. When in chapter five Will and Astrid get back together and move back home, they will return to normal routine maintaining their house and making babies.
  8. Where can you harvest it? Looks like plane containers aren't harvest able and absence of metal shelves or locker doors doesn't help either. Where do you get scrap metal for repairs or to make fishing hooks? Does it have to be imported? Thank you.
  9. A little off topic, but not: If they get wet, do they lose effectiveness or give you frostbite easier? It appears they dont dry out very easily..
  10. Here's mine: never underestimate The Great Bear(island). There have been many instances when I thought something would be a quick trip, which turned into days of treacherous journey. @piddy3825 that was funny!
  11. I think micromanaging food will become too cumbersome. Doesn't look like a very good idea. What we have already is good enough. You have too many other things to worry about as is.
  12. Well we don't have a compass! Do you want new players to die without finding way home?
  13. Sorry about previous one, I butchered it. Low poll crafting skill☺️ Anyways, v2.0! How many hours have you spent in real life, traversing the great and desolate world of Great Bear? Poll will not show your name in case you would like to keep your adventure time invisible, but if you'd like to, you can share in a post! My time spent behind the keyboard and mouse is 137 hours. This is total time combined, wintermute and survival. Please vote! Thank you!
  14. I've read on steam or reddit that someone was able to repair them on milling machine in BI. Haven't tried myself though. Maybe Hinterland can confirm if this is true or not?
  15. How much fishing do you have to do to make enough lantern fuel to last reasonable amount of time? Lots and lots of fishing.
  16. @Serenity, In certain regions, yes. I made a base at mountaineers hut and there isn't a lot of cloth there. If you get hurt by spraining your ankle and get bitten by a wolf on the way there, well there go your two bandages. Next abundant spot for bandages is the summit and it is a long and treacherous way there. It is that or you go back to pleasant valley to stock up. I would hate to harvest my own clothes if I was in a pickle bleeding out. I have very good clothes! It is actually part of the reason why I have animal boots, pants(outer), jacket(outer) and hat!
  17. At the moment, bandage is the only way. For that you need clothes or some other cloth material to harvest. To do that, you need to be in the area of man made structures. Beware if you head out into the 'true' wilderness where you may not find bandage materials!
  18. I saw a deer casually walk out of the cave as I was approaching, so I believe wolves may be able to walk in as well. I camped out in a bear cave a fee times because I didn't know, but was lucky enough to walk out of it. Making a bear bedroll keeps bears from attacking you I've read somewhere and they are also warm! Absolutely worth it!
  19. @CatloverI just passed by those last night. It was laying by the tree and it looked like someone peeled one meter long bark off the tree. Piece was huge! Maybe a moose?
  20. @Rose of Madmenwell now I want to back to investigate! I am long ways away though. Sitting at the summit with a tail section of crashed jet.
  21. Hmm, that does sound closer and I have a base there. I will swing by there instead of going back to CH. Thank you! Actually I remember now, yes, there does walk a bear. I remember seeing it in the distance, but was still too rookie to take on bears. Edit: @AdamvR I thought they patched that animal behavior and now they are able to enter if door isn't closed(or absent) ? Maybe I'll test it, because I was fishing there into the evening and heard bear gallop by.
  22. It doesn't create a save as far as I know. If you need to save you would have to get hurt, sleep at least 1 hour or enter a home or area that has loading screen. If you can't do any of those, but need to co ti ue after a short real life errand, leave the game running, and put computer to sleep. I do it all the time.
