  1. Those live wires during the Aurora sparking close to that sweater or wooden crates are just asking for trouble or if you start fire in the fireplace to cook some tuna and get careless by leaving some flammable materials close to fire while going outside to fetch some sticks. Poof!! That would make a few souls angry who left their rifle inside and a bunch of loot:) Edit: fire risk 100 if throwing torch in the house(or a flare)
  2. Drinking and surviving doesn't work. (Well maybe it does?) Don't cross it by dawn's early light. It didn't end well for me. Second attempt was during the day and very carefully. Such beautiful landscape!! It is my desktop photo.
  3. @UpUpAway95, you were probably camping out on pilgrim dificulty 😁
  4. Given that lantern fuel is scarcity, candles make far more sense than dropping torches in the houses (or flares). Candle in itself typically works very long time by design. When there is no electricity and you don't have a flashlight, what do you do? You light a candle!
  5. After hearing all the suggestions, I am kinda leaning towards not having any co op or pets or whatever. It will make the lone survivor game so much different. If I want to meet other players, i can get my fill from wintermute NPCs:)
  6. It would be interesting to have Astrid and Will coop:) imagine hypothermia risk can be healed by sharing body heat. Or empty cabin for the night with king size bed during blizzard! But then we might need contraceptive crafting, or is all this Aurora activity caused humans to be sterile? Hmm...
  7. The chairs!! I didn't realize those have cloth(some of them). Re: magnifying glass, I guess that will limit you to daytime fires unless you keep them long enough.
  8. Counter points: • they will likely weigh a ton if you have to make metal at a forge and then carry it around in case you ever decide to build a fence. • gun is much more effective and/or it would make more sense to hunker down in a car/cave/house vs building a fence if you plan to stay in some place fair amount of time. • if there is a blizzard coming, you'd be better off in a structure vs being outside and protected by fence.
  9. How do you handle: • food • weapons • clothes • medicine ...or other essential survivor items? At some point, ammo will run out, clothes will be all ruined, and canned food will be eaten up. What next? If you plan to go in for the long run, share your strategy! Thank you!
  10. Dedication achievement unlocked Incredible work!
  11. You cannot be serious, comrade. Do you carry heavy hammer around?!
  12. I got rabbit hat, wolf coat, deer pants(o deer) and deer boots. The rest of clothes are regular, but good stuff. My red bar in sprinting tech gauge is like half way!! Actually feels like I'm accelerating like a semi when beginning to sprint!
  13. This is fantastic idea! In fact it is even in visual poem(elegy crossroads) It's so sad when you fire up stove and barely any light:(
  14. My motto: "Astrid hun, if I can do it, so can you!! Git that leg moving!!" I wonder if I'd do the same in real life. I definitely need that gun, and rifle too. Bed may come in handy. And tools. Must have plenty of food, also some cans to heat it up in. Must bring some fuel for the fire. Also a lamp. O deer, soooooo heavy. ..okay, a few more snacks. [Total weight: 140lbs..]
  15. @Valuable Hunting Knife how many wolves did you kill to deserve that?
  16. He jumped into my open arms with great joy;happy to see me!:) #lunchtime
  17. @Lohaan fantastic perspective!! Here's mine I call it, "befriend a wolf"
  18. Eh, not according to game logic. Example: typical FPS shooter *shotgun shell to the face* "taking fire here!!"
  19. Hey now hold on a moment there, those beats and beans are for red borscht I've been cooking on gray mother's stove. Got all wolves lining up at the door from the delicious smell!!
  20. Re:bear, so if they can climb like that, does it mean they may be able to ambush you at some point from the top? Re:rabbit, that begs the question, are they so tasty, not worth to pass up as the last meal before fading into the long dark?
  21. So I guess I should discard these then..
  22. I play custom Voyager. Not sure why make things harder than they are, you're out in the cold and you're all alone, cut yourself some slack!! I disabled cabin fever because in reality, also I disabled sleep as skill, now I can sleep as long as I like!!(just like in real life on saturdays..sometimes) and to make it a little challenging, i started off with low materials and set worldly materials to medium, wolves to medium, bears to i dont remember what and some other stuff to medium. Enjoying life, but still can die I guess I also like trappers place in mystery lake! It's nice, small and cozy. Has little stove and bed, work bench is a bonus. I just wish there was unlimited lantern fuel or more light! I could stay there all my astrid life!! Also, backyard is great!:) really enjoying everything there, but I am at Molly's place right now. Haven't seen a moose yet, have 70x revolver rounds and like 16 Lee enfield haven't hunted yet, because lotsa dog food and chocolate bars!sorry, got carried away..I now fade into the long dark..
  23. In the long dark, that would be..."mouldy chocolate bar"?
