  1. Why is it not safe to drink and always needs to be boiled while toilet water is fine? I've done some clean googling and found snow to be safe to consume moderately. It does collect contaminants, such as car exhaust and other pollutants, but given the area TLD takes place in, it should be safely assumed that snow if fairly clean from most contaminants, especially after blizzard. I'd argue that water from the toilets is not very safe because areas we explore are mostly in the neck of woods and if anyone took a trip cross country, have you seen what condition(cleanness) toilets in stores or gas stations are?!??!?? Gross!!!!! One other thing, how do you use water purification tablets? More of a question, how do you gather snow water? Is only possible way to start a fire and immediately remove water can from fire? Thank you.
  2. I've come in contact with bunkers in pleasant valley. (because wintermute!) Haven't seen them in other maps yet, but I only explored moderately lower portions of the global map. As far as i know, bunkers don't 'spawn'.
  3. I just read through the whole thing and have the same question.. And some people take this game way too seriously😁
  4. Epic is required to launch the game. After that. You can disable internet and close up epic. If you don't have wifi at home, you can try using your phone's mobile data as a hotspot and connect through the phone to launch epic; then just disconnect after everything launched.
  5. I wish they both froze to death together in the end
  6. If #2 goes to the city, its most likely to turn into "the last of us" without infected.
  7. Oh? I was camping put in one cave not too long ago and saw dinosaur bones! I thought it was neat and went to sleep! You mean those were human bones and I might have been woken up by 'cave service' with ole smokey tapping at me?!
  8. Well, but here's my dilemma; whenever I get to that point and start thinking I'm too good, I end up accidentally falling off a cliff somewhere and there are wolves nearby howling, so it's red shaft stim injection and it's run run run to nearest car or house.😂after that, humility sets in as I try to survive for a few days because I forgot to pick up my bed roll somewhere..
  9. It will likely be so long ways away that it's even too early to start discussing #2 me thinks. We haven't even seen the ending of the first game yet.
  10. Multiple autosave and checkpoints are only in wintermute(storymode). In survival, there is only one save and it's always autosave whenever you get bruised, poisoned, enter cabin, ect..
  11. I started a new thread for a companion couple days ago upon joining, but I see it was discussed before! Genius minds think alike!!
  12. I think I had it happen to me one time when I added toilet water, it caused all my stored potable water to go bad. I thought It was odd because i got so used to taking a pitcher to the toilet without thinking twice.
  13. I agree. This is, after all, a game and quite arguably, there are plenty of other options in the difficulty setting that also can make the game unrealistic, but yet, they are still present.
  14. Deer @galahan, May your fingers grow back and you once again give hinterland a try:) best wishes and speedy recovery!
  15. Might be a bit late, but there is a "thank you" letter for bringing the artifact back. I also spent a few days camping out in the nearby building when it kept saying to come back tomorrow, but my soul was put to peace when all i had to do was find a letter.
  16. A dog!! I think it would be a great idea if you could save a dog from wolves or whatnot or from starvation or injury. The trips across the wilderness would be so much more enjoyable having a survival buddy! It will be both a challenge, as you now have to feed both mouths, but also the dog can help you hunt rabbits? Not to mention the loneliness no more! Another thing is, you could equip/craft a carrying bag for your dog, to help you carry supplies! Ermm, the other way around..
