I've scoped out TWM's highest peaks thinking the vantage would be fabulous, but I was disappointed. Seems to make sense, but how would we ever confirm that? You'd need to know the logic and RNG in the code.

Have you considered a Custom run? That way, you can configure your game just how you like.

I'm glad to hear that. That's one thing that pushes me to quickly sweep areas in new playthroughs - thinking I may miss out on something.

Keep in mind, episode 5 will be the final episode that HL promised to release. This doesn't mean it is necessarily the end of the story...

I don't remember much, but one thing I clearly remember is, wayyy back when the Mystery Lake lake had weak ice spots all over and getting really wet!

Yeah, shouldn't be a shortage of them. If you really want to know all known spawn points, I'd utilize some of the great maps out there.

You make some valid points. Yes, you would be more visible at the entrance to the cave, but a fire burning at night (even from the back of the cave) is going to light it up real good. And yes, there is some "sneakiness" in the game but also some very obvious "hints" - take for example how rosehips are used a lot to mark "there is something this way, come take a look".

Maybe sign out and back in? If none of that works, I'd open a support ticket. Don't give up, that is too much invested to do so!

On the contrary, the cave is the only place I have seen them sleep and I've got 1700 steam hours in...nice find!
