  1. The Game is made so you WILL die one day. increasing or decreasing the difficulty will break that part of the gameplay.
  2. Firepits indors: already exists. If you mean campfire indors than No. there are plenty of places where we can make fire inside. Sleeping indors No again. it would make the game easy again. Do you know you can sleep in cars and sometimes in caves there are beds?
  3. I am not shure it would be a great idea.
  4. This is an iteresting idea. however i would include animations or new items that are not in the game for a challenge. I dont know if you played all of the challenges, a few, or none but the challenges only uses games mechanics that already exist. The cahllenge are only new "context" to the game. So I wouldnt like it to be too complicated. Beside this point i think the idea is more than interesting, it would be for shure a hard hard challenge and would be a lot of fun.
  5. what you suggest is the same thing than cabin fever but less punishing. I dont think it is necessairy. This would be extremely annoying. 50 wolves is like the number of wolves you kill in a 150-200 days run. No thanks again. this would literally take liek 100 days to achieve if you look everywhere on the map. and i am not talking about moose. moose can take from 1 to 30 days to spawn in a region. No thanks again. I think that it would be so annoying. having to clean a gun every two hours wich is exactly every 12 mins in real time. just a waste of resource and it has no use in survival. i dont know how it could be emplemented but it would be for shure annoying. Now I think that is a great idea however there are too much variables for the illness to happend and the treatment is too boring and long to achieve. what i would suggest is that in order to get the illness you have to be well fed for over than x days, and being most of the times in positive temperatures. the idea of looting for a long time dead body is also great. also the treatment should involve reading, mending and those type of task instead of making you unable to read or do things. now I think that the problem with all the other illnesses you shown is that the way to get em is always decided by the health and i dont think it is the way to go. For the wolf fear. i have an idea: with the new darkwalker event two new afflictions are introduced: Anxiety and fear. now when a wolf or a bear is tracking you you have the anxiety affliction. if it last more than x time you get the fear affliction. if you experience fear more than x time in x days you will get the wolf fear. wich will give you first auditive halluciantions and if it continues you get visual hallicinations. To heal this affliction you would need to craft and wear a wolfskin coat for x time. And if you have a bear fear, you will have to craft and wear a bearskin coat. I would like the visual hallucinations (if you already have em since a lot of time) to stay longer. like the imaginary wolf would have the time to jump on you and then he will disapear. then you would slowly get up like when the bear attacks you but without any wounds (physical wounds at least) if you get attacked by your hallucinations (of any type) more than x time in a save the hallucinations may never disappear whatever you do. No you are not wrong. but on another side, I wouldnt want this mechanic to disappear. In the long dark you choose how you play and if you choose to lead a more risky life it is your choice. the mountain goat method is risky and brings its lot of dangers and inconvenience. i died multiple time by "mountain goating" and it is fine beacause I chosen to do so. now I would want it to be more risky it is already enough.
  6. if we can still open up doors with prybars i am not against. It would reward us after if we use the lockpick when our skil will be high enough we will no longer need to carry a heavy prybar
  7. For once, I agree with you
  8. All right but it is still the same problem. The wolf destroys your backpack and then you are overweighted as hell you still have to drop almost all your gear and we end up with the same problem.
  9. It would be a useless thing to do. you dont take a 20kg backpack to go fishing and a 50kg one to go hiking. if you have a 50kg pack you will use it for everything. It doesent even makes sense. if we carry 50kg in our backpack as @Mroz4k said, we will still be slowed down by a 50kg backpack (as we already do in the game if we carry 50kg of items. So where is the point? Besides of that if you get charged by a bear or a wolf the chances that your backpack will be riped of it pretty high... imagine fignting a wolf in the middle of Hushed river valley and then you win, but you have blood loos, you have 30% left and your pack is ripped off, 40kg of stuff just got dropped on the ground and you are unlucky, you dont have bandages in your 10kg pockets you have to find quickly a bandage in your 40kg pile of stuff that lays on the ground. Your matches, your wood, your rifle. everything valuable got dropped and you cannot make a move quicly to secure youself and heal that wound. Beacause you are in the middle of nowhere you cannot find a new backpacl to pick up your gear again. okay i choosed the worst situation but this mechanic will for shure lead to pretty ridiculous situations I dont think it would be a nice mechanic. it will just lead to unfunny situations and make the game easy as hell. imagine being able to carry your house on your back (in the long dark thats pretty much what yo ucan do with 50kg of space)? I would highly preffer new accessory items that helps with the weigh than a whole new revamped weigh system. We discussed about skiis in a recent topic and I this the idea is much much more interesting go check it out !
  10. @Mroz4k What you are suggesting is already the same thing that what is in the game right now but without backpacks. You can carry 30kg before overweight and 40 to 50 after overweight. If you have the well fed bonus and the hide sachel it is going to boost that to 40 kg before overweight and 50 to 60 after oveweight. I dont think this is a great idea beacause now the packs would have a durrability wich I would hate I am pretty shure. The only thing I like is that you start with less weight capacity than right now but there is too much cons.
  11. I read your text yesterday @Mroz4k and i didnt had the time to respond so excuse me if some of the information I will say is wrong i may have forgotten some bits. first I would say that i appreciaet the whole idea but one or two thigs would need to be tweaked for the mechanic to be fun. I think that having some water reservoirs are a good idea and will make houses (if you live in) fell more like home. The best idea is the dirty and dirty risk affliction. I think though that only able to get rid of that affliction with the rag, water and charcoal, is necessairy. as you said maybe some nomadic people would need to get sometime to houses and clean themselves but what do you do about people that want to live in TWM or HRV?. you should be able to get rid of the affliction with the rag BUT cleaning yourself with a real shower would provide : A longer time before the risk show up again and a small condition bonus like the birch bark tea but a little less effective. that way you get a bonus if you do wash yourself with a shower. Second and last thing, I don't think that it is necessairy to full up the tanks with potable water. you are not drinking the water. i suggest it would be the same for the rag mechanic. Although if you have an infection or any external wounds it would wether make the risk bigger, (if there is no risk) add a new risk of infection, or directly give you an infection. (a detail to add: the water tanks should be inside of houses (it would make sense and the water would not freeze) I also like the idea that if we take a cold shower we will have a cold resistance bonus (maybe like 1C every cold shower you take and it can stack up to 3C) but if you take the cold shower you wont get the condition bonus. To heat up the water we could just throw hot stones in the tank (one per L of water) and once you finished the shower you can collect back the cold stones to heat em up again. To heat up the stones you could do something like throwing 5 stones in a pot full of water and wait until the water has boiled. what do you think about those changes?
  12. I dont know if i would like ot have more than 40kg of space. (with the sachel and the well fed bunus). Those bonuses would be useless after that beacause we could always craft bigger backapcks. and after that if we do have a backpack update people will ask to be able to take the backpacks that are used as containers right now... i am not shure how well it would impact the game. i liek the game for its originality and i dont think the backpack idea would be true to the long dark
  13. No stocking in thig game doesent work like that it would require a whole revamp to the storage system. everything that can stock items work with weight.
  14. Maybe the crows could go down to eat the flesh and then if we approach carrefully we could be able to take a shot on one of em. if we scare em (wich should be very easy) they drop their feathers (one or two maximum) and if we can shoot em, the carcas would have between 3 and 5 feathers plus 25kg/500 cal of meat wich would be dangerous to eat even cooked. what do you think?
  15. Well This shows that we are still interested in the hobby idea. I love the game dont starve, you always have something to do until you die. i Think that the mental side of the game is one of the biggest reasons for that. I dont say that The long dark should have a mental health system but sometimes we should have to take care of our character more than drinking water eating and heating up.
  16. I understand what you mean, i usually get bored at the long dark after on or two month of play and then i play again six month later for another two month
  17. Maybe The green fire could only be brighter than the regular fires and it would be activated in the Endless night mode ? PLS DEVS i am dying to play this gamemode haha i hope some of it will stay !
  18. What does it have to do with the long dark? The long dark is extremely cheap for its level of replayability and i will for shure encourage the devs as soon as they release a dlc or anothr game. The only game i played more than that is minecraft and i payed it 30$ i would buy a dlc too from them. the investment is soo worth it
  19. I am not against though i dont know how often it would happen, I always keep my tools as near as possible to 100 except for knife and axe and I dont think i am the only one . maybe a similar mechanic could be aplided to the most used tools like -axe, knife -hacksaw, Heavy Hammer What do you think?
  20. that is true It gave me an idea. maybe ill publish it around tomorrow
  21. I dont think it is a great idea. again It minimize the gameplay and wouldnt be that useful in stalker and higher difficulty. What i mean by minimalizing the gameplay is that it would all be in a menu and i prefer the ol' method that we already have that is the same than what you are suggesting but with better controll on the time and the resources you have

medical stuff do decay but it is quicker outside
  23. They are absolutely giving content for free. Yes they make money but their expansion is limited by the cost of the development wich is big. I have spent 800 hours playing this game... i only paid it 20$ it is NOTHING of a risk . i actually paid the game 0.025$/hour that is nothing (it is free) and yes you buyed it once but the devs still need money to develop their game and i understand them to at least worry about it. After wintermute episode 5 is released they are probably going to release DLC'S wich is fine i dont understand why you hate it it keeps the game you like alive and i am shure if you are here on this forum is beacause you liek the game.
  24. Well first your map doesn't need to be perfet the mpst important is that we understand the idea Your idea is not bad the problem is that there is not that much thing to do there and it looks like mystery lake. a trappers cabin+lot of wildlife. i think this region would be more interesting without buildings like hushed river valley and a few new features. The difference between hushed river and this region could be that is is more flat like a less mountany terrain.
  25. Exactly imagine doing that for EVERY obstacle that is "vaultable" and on every of the 15 existing maps (including transition zones). That only would be an enormous job and that is not all. they are only 30 people in the studion and they are not working 24h all on vaulting. they need to create one or two animation too and test if there is no bug for EVERY obstacle that is "vaultable" and on every of the 15 existing maps............. that would take sooooo long only to be able to vault? maybe but i want wintermute finished before the devs are giving free content for more than 6 years now multiple time a year and they will continue until wintermute is done. wich is in a long time probably 2 or 3 years so i dont think they will be investing that much time on a little mechanics that will not add that much new gameplay or at all... Edit: that would probably even worse with the jump mechanic as they would need to test every cm of the map and besides of that this would not look good in the long dark. i am okay with no jumping. Actually i NEVER tried to jump until they added the quick menu that we can access with the spacebar. I played 2 years without even knowing we could'nt jump in this game it think it would just make the game less realistic and less enjoyable... less nostalgic too.
