  1. Ok, someone help me out, did the regular wolf behavior change ? Got a torch in my hand, wolf stops, growls at me for 10 seconds, and then attacks. I have never seen that before. Since when do wolves ignore torches ? -t
  2. If you can't leave the region, you can't make arrow heads, so there is no use for birch and maple. I guess there's a small chance that you can find arrow heads. Haven't seen that on IL yet. -t
  3. An interesting challenge would be "How long can you survive in Black Rock on Interloper, starting there and w/o ever leaving." -t
  4. Been trying to get things off the ground in Black Rock on Interloper. This is pretty challenging unless you know guaranteed spawn locations for matches. The wolves are brutal. Few oddities I noticed: Blizzards are NOT a guaranteed wolf-free environment. I have never seen wolves roaming and attacking during blizzards, but had it happen here. Wolves getting into the maintenance yard within the prison - I have never seen this in Stalker Wolves attacking you even with burning torch -t
  5. I'm more wondering about the lack of toilet paper. It's like the Covid apocalypse... -t
  6. No need to confirm, it's a well known fact. It's all EH-xtra large. -t
  7. Auroras can end even before the night is over. Don't assume you always have until sunrise. Bringing *plenty* of food is the safest option when exploring the CH mine. On Stalker, I have had 20+ days between auroras, waiting for CH mine to "open" up. Didn't want to get stuck for 20+ days inside, so I brought at least 20 lbs of meat, plus other foods to be able to survive, just in case. -t
  8. At least in Stalker, the numerous flares and abundance of matches make it easy to use flares and torches to get past the wolves relatively unharmed. That's the strategy in early game w/o proper weapons. Fighting Timberwolves with bow & arrow is very tedious. Best is if you are in a secure spot, and you have time to recognize their pattern sand pick them off. Problem with the arrows is the slow release. You have to anticipate where they are going to be. Much easier with the rifle, because fast. -t
  9. Disappearing because you enter a building with a load screen, or disappearing even if you spend the night at the guard house (no load screen) ? The "disappearing / load screen" bug exists everywhere. -t
  10. Oh, wow. That would be convenient. -t
  11. Wut ??? Spent 70 days in Stalker, most of it in the prison, never seen it. Odd. -t
  12. There's a bear spawn close to the prison ? I have only encountered the bear south of the power plant (Bear's Bend), and the one North of Bricklayer's (Cliff Cave). I never seen a bear in the "middle" section of the map (between the river and the ravine). -t
  13. Nice. The only thing this bunker is missing is a stove. -t
  14. Still a bug, this doesn’t happen in BI or any other workbench. -t
  15. At least in Stalker it’s very wolfy. It’s not necessarily bad, you get constant delivery of fresh meat. Getting to Keepers Pass North (Cave) will let you play with a handful of furballs. I prefer traveling during Blizzards for that reason -t
  16. Ah, sorry, was talking about the REGULAR forge. The bullet crucible doesn't need 150C. -t
  17. I started loving traveling during blizzards in BlackRock, because no wolves. I haven't tried / dared on Interloper, but on Stalker, it's a 24/7 wolf fest. -t
  18. You can get up to 80C with wood. From there, you need coal. Therefore, you need coal to add 70C (150C - 80C). Coal adds 20C per unit, so you need at least 4 coal. -t Edit: sorry, this is for the REGULAR forge. The bullet crucible does not need coal, AFAIR.
  19. WTF ? How to I get the prison symbol to show ? Why are the mapping results so inconsistent ? -t
  20. I get no prison transition symbol. Why ? Do you have to be in a certain spot to map it ?
  21. What is that double arrow right where the prison is ? This does not look like the map I get ?!?! -t
  22. Never tested it against bears, but I have seen videos showing it was safe against Timberwolves. So I assume wolves in general can’t get at you, and I believe the same would go for bears. -t
  23. After spending a long time at BARK (got it right this time), I can confirm that coming from TWM allows a route to the prison that can avoid Timberwolves. However, LEAVING the prison typically does NOT allow that, unless one mountain goats down to the river. The Mine and Power Plant can be done avoiding Timberwolves, so in theory, the important places can be reached w/o run ins with TW. The Substation is fairly difficult to get to w/o crossing paths with TW. -t
