  1. Not too much at first as I had plenty of drawers to store stuff but then soon I'd forget where I'd put my stuff lol I also recently discovered there was an in game journal that I can write in to make a note of where I put my stuff, it also lets me kind of write my own story of some sorts. Never knew there was such a thing in all my years of playing .. Though I have put things on counters just to get them out of my inventory and to save weight. In one save, I had grey mother's kitchen table and dining table covered with sodas and other canned items and talk about OCD, holy God it is bad with me
  2. Yeah I had heard there was some pretty sweet perks of level 5 Archery skill. I guess I'm a little too impatient as I'm so used to using the rifle lol 😅But thank you so much for the tips. it's much appreciated!
  3. That's interesting and nice shot btw. I'm not sure if building a new bow increases distance or accuracy but I've been having a hell of a time with the bow. I am at level 3 and I have recently shot 2 deer, both in the same area(hindquarters) and both of them took a very long time to bleed out. I get that it takes some time but an arrow creates a bigger wound than a bullet does so the wiki says 40 minutes to bleed out if shot in the hind. Yeah, I don't think so lol. First deer ran starting from Camp Office going all the way to the lake cabins where it stopped and I shot it again and it ran all the way to the Deadfall Area before finally dropping
  4. I personally think story mode is just another mode of gameplay but it does give you a backstory but then again, I'm mainly a survival mode player and I like to create my own story but with The Long Dark as a supporting theme
  5. Good lord, man! I'd probably shit myself. Did it attack you after?
  6. My top favorite shot from my last night in Timberwolf Mountain. It had been quite the adventure from getting lost, almost dying in a blizzard, to finding the crates chock full of stuff. I didn't know there was a screenshot mode in the game so I'm tired and over-encumbered. But that's better than freezing to death right?
  7. I was in Coastal Highway in the Quonset area and I heard footsteps padding around and I thought they were bunny feet so I'm looking around and I actually got so focused my vision and hearing were heightened, I came up over a snow drift and a wolf popped right into my face. Scared the absolute Christ out of me as I jumped back into my chair and almost fell backwards in it
  8. In my experience, I've found that you start slowing down noticeably once you reach 34 pounds over encumbrance. EG at 100lbs current weight when your limit is 66.00lbs if you're a silly American like me who doesn't know squat about the Metric system.
  9. I know how you feel, it kind of took me by surprise as well. At the time, I knew Moose were added in the patch but they were so rare that I didn't find any and thought well maybe it's a glitch in my save file. Nope, come up on a blind hill somewhere and there he was. Actually scared me because i wasn't expecting him to be there.
  10. I can't do it in five words so here we go lol. .. I love the solitude that you get and how everything is randomized for the most part in every playthrough. Plus the atmosphere is truly breathtaking at times, especially with the aurora, they really hit it out of the park with that.
  11. It worked. I had to re-configure my settings but it fixed the issue. Thank you so much for your help!
  12. Awesome! And do I have to uninstall the game first before I do this?
  13. Thank you and yes, I have already submitted an inquiry and just waiting for a reply back. Thank you for your reply, I went into my game and clicked "reset to default" and unfortunately, that method did not work.
  14. Sounds good. I do have a current save but was done with it since I had done everything and was looking to start a new game. If I disable cloud saving then do I delete everything in the "Hinterland" folder? After deleting, will the app automatically make a new folder with the things needed? Also, which cfg file do I delete? Is it the regular file or the one in "TheLongDarkNoSync" folder?
  15. I'm actually running Windows 10 And yes i tried to resetting the key bindings to their original settings and that also didn't work. Thank you both for the responses, i really appreciate the help I can get.
  16. I'm having issues with the time capsule. I followed all the instructions and when I got to the game, I had no keyboard or mouse control and had to ALT-F4 to exit. Reverted back to the current version and even re-installed the game and I still have no control. How can I fix this?
  17. You should write a book pertaining to this genre because with glitching and the game crashing aside, that was epic.
  18. The time capsule is great, it helps me re-live the alpha days of the game but when I converted my game to an earlier version, the character won't move, the mouse won't work either and I can't even use the escape key to exit and have to use ALT-F4 .. How can I fix this? It also does this when I revert back to the current version of the game Thank you
  19. Oh cabin fever, a cruel and heartless mistress. I think it's a great feature to have in the game but it really needs to be re-worked
  20. I have many for sure but I think my worst one was when I was in Coastal Highway near the Quonset in my current save. I heard bear crows and I wanted to get a hide so I could get the bearskin bedroll. After looking around I couldn't see any bear but I heard footsteps, my focus was so intense that my vision and hearing were heightened. I came up over a snow drift and there was a wolf on the other side, I flew back into my chair with my heart leaping into my throat
  21. Ahh yes the phantom bear. Happened to me in the same zone at the unnamed pond location. Was hunting deer from the blind, looked over to my left and nothing was there, not even a few seconds later a bear had appeared. Scared the hell out of me and I decided to book it back to the trappers cabin. Same thing happened in Coastal Highway, I came out of a house near the Quonset and a bear literally popped in about 5 feet from me I know that both locations are where bears usually are but man, didn't expect them to pop out of nowhere.
  22. To be honest and weather aside, I do like Pleasant Valley due to the fact that the farmstead can be a treasure trove and some of the best items can be found up on Signal Hill. In one of my saves, I have found an Expedition Parka plus a rifle with some ammunition just hanging around on the floor. Other than that, Pleasant Valley is a massive zone of unpleasantness lol
  23. To me it absolutely is and when paired with the moose-hide satchel, that's 22 pounds of extra carrying capacity.
  24. Awesome! Even though I'm more of a survival mode player myself, I can't wait for episode 3 of story mode. The Timberwolf looks awesome too, was hoping for a new predator to be added.
  25. I threw a rock at a wolf once out of pure curiosity to see what would happen. Of course I miss, the rock hits the snow and the wolf is like "huh? What was that? *pads over to mystery rock but sees me trying to hide behind a tree* You!! How dare you throw shit at me!!! .. He didn't live for very long after that. hehe I love trolling wolves, especially when they deserve it LOL.
