  1. About to climb Timberwolf Mountain for the second time. Barely made it the first time as I almost died in a blizzard because I was lost(Should've stayed in that damn cave but noooo, I just had to go out because the weather looked okay ) When I arrived today. as soon as I got into the region, it threw a blizzard at me and I was like "Wow, Is that how you treat new visitors to your region, by spitting in their face? Rude!" I had to research a book before I got the clear weather. I could've gone out earlier in the day but it was snowing and I don't trust the game not to slap me in the face by throwing another blizzard at me lol.
  2. This has probably been brought up several times but I'd like to see the ability to stack items like books, both the static books(ones that you can't read) and skill books instead of strewing them around on the floor or on shelves. I have seen mods for this but I don't like using them as it could potentially screw up my game or worse, my computer.
  3. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one but the main OCD I have in this game is that if stuff I'm carrying is on the floor or a shelf instead of inside a container then it has to look neat and organized. EG Flares in a single row laying vertically. Also one item category per shelf, EG, if one shelf is food and drinks then nothing else will go on that shelf. Apparently because if I have things unorganized, I'm blind and can't find my stuff then panic thinking I left it elsewhere LOL
  4. "Are these bears on steroids?" LOL that's funny! and actually it seems that they are because I was hunting the bear in Mystery Lake by the Trappers Homestead the other day and it took like 4-5 rifle shots to drop him. Must be those darn forest talkers feeding the bears steroids
  5. Do mukluks still exist in the game or have they been removed? .. How's this for rotten luck, I have only found the mukluks only once and that was one of my very first runs which was about 4-ish years ago now, I remember it fondly as I was so happy to find them and I have never found them again after that and I mean deerskin boots are better as I have used those religiously but to find mukluks again would be awesome. Finding them only once makes me think that I was just imagining them and they never really existed LOL
  6. I always go for the satchel because I like to carry everything and by everything, I mean all the things lol
  7. That looks great. This may not be possible but it would be great if they could make it where if the sun is coming through windows then it should be sunny outside. I get all excited every time and then I open the door and it's instant disappointment as it's overcast or snowy. .. If not then I would love to see some kind of new feature where you can actually look out the windows and see what the weather is like or if there are any predators near by.
  8. Walking to the camp office. I had started in the morning in Mountain Town and I wanted to go the other way via the basin as I was carrying a lot of stuff that I couldn't put down and it didn't have any climbing spots(Or I thought it didn't) Got to where I needed to be and the game is like "hehe surprise! You have not one but two climbs, enjoy! " Oh yeah? well take this, game! I dropped half my water(had over a gallon and a half) and most of my firewood as I had more in Mystery Lake. Got through the basin and when it popped me out at Marsh Ridge in Forlorn Muskeg, I kind of knew where that was but I looked at a map and turns out, I'm in the far northwest corner of the map and I realized I could've gone the other way and wouldn't of wasted so much time. Anyway I'm starting to get tired and can't climb the rope down as I just passed my encumbrance limit so I skyrim down the face of the cliff and start walking towards the transition point making this face -__-;; the whole way. .. I get to Mystery Lake and as you can see my survivor is nearly exhausted and I now have to listen to his heavy breathing and complaining about his pack as he's walking. .. "sigh, I wonder if I can drop any of this gear!" Dude just shut up and keep walking before I kick your ass all the way to the camp office.
  9. Sweet!! Congratulations and enjoy that satchel! It has definitely been a godsend for myself
  10. Well damn I was wondering where my arrows had gone when I was hunting deer in Coastal Highway. You sneaky devil you
  11. I have too many to list here but I'd have to say my favorite memory is when I first bought the game back in early to mid 2016, I was brand new to the game, I had no idea how to play and I died over and over but I kept going and learned by trial and error. I never watched any video guides as I wanted to learn on my own in true spirit of "no hand holding"
  12. Huh. I did not know this, that is very interesting, I will keep that in mind and my eyes open. Thank you!
  13. Despite all the rage that I have seen with Pleasant Valley, I have to play devil's advocate and say that I like the region. I still get lost frequently(damn you curious mind lol) and not too long ago I got caught out in a blizzard and me thinking I was screwed, I somehow made it to the Farmstead by complete dumb luck. No matter what the region throws at me, I always come back for more. I guess there's a certain charm to Pleasant Valley that I love.
  14. In my time of playing I have never seen a sleeping bear before. I've had plenty "pop" into the area just a few feet from me and scaring the crap out of me but never sleeping.
  15. How did you get up there? Didn't think you could. It would make for some killer screenshots!
  16. Right? hehe that's what I had thought too but unfortunately I have more deer meat than I know what to do with back in Mystery Lake plus all the bear meat from the first bear I got not too long ago
  17. This was down in Milton Basin, I was just walking along when I heard a wolf bark, Deer comes towards me and so does the wolf I take a few steps back in case the wolf comes after me instead. In short: Wolf kills deer, I'm like "how dare you" and Bam! Shot him/her/it right in the head
  18. I recently killed my second bear in Mountain Town and originally I was just going to take the hide so I can make a bearskin bedroll as my first bearskin is in Mystery Lake. I then realized I could get cooking skill from the bear meat. So I go back to where the bear was, quartered it and left most of my stuff there including some clothing items so I can make fewer trips. Ended up making only 2 trips and got back to grey mothers just at the brink of nightfall. I get all the meat cooked and surprisingly it didn't take long at all well, I ate one of the pieces which was at 74 percent condition and I got Food Poisoning.. How? It was cooked fully and 74 percent is still a fairly good condition number(least in my own experience it is) Was it just dumb luck that it made me sick? Thank you!
  19. Well hey there big puppy! I'd love give you head pats and cheek strokes but you'd rip my face off I was down in Winding River, I was headed to Pleasant Valley, I had no intention of killing anything and there's a wolf in the way eating a rabbit. He's in my way so I shoot him and he runs off. I get what's left of the bunny and carry on. Soon here comes the wolf, he's stopped running but he's holding his paw up while he's limping. Me being the kindhearted person that I am feeling sorry for the poor thing went up to it(Don't ask why I thought this would be a good idea lol) Soon as I got up close, the son of a bitch attacked me. Scared the living shit out of me that I actually flew back into my chair almost falling backwards So I fight him off and he just dies like this
  20. Huh. I didn't know there was a moose in Pleasant Valley. I guess I just stuck with the known spawn points in Mystery Lake, Mountain Town and Broken Railroad lol. I am currently looking for a Moose at the moment so I can get the satchel, I'll have to remember to go take a look
  21. Oh man do I have a story for you. I was in Mystery Lake on Day 12 on Voyageur and I had just finished marking the last location on the map for the "Exploration Game" Achievement. I was in the camp office and I had traveled down the tracks to the derailment where I was spotted by a wolf. I was still kind of new to the rifle and didn't have much experience but I crouched, aimed making the the wolf charged and I actually shot and killed him, I was like I had never hit a wolf before and this was after getting attacked twice before so at the same time, it felt invigorating lol. I harvest some of his meat, get his hide and me feeling full of pride thought "Well hell I could do that again" (First mistake) Take it from me, don't ever get cocky with the rifle. I head down the tracks some more and get spotted by another wolf, I did the same thing as last time, but the wolf went around a rock and attacked me, I got a shot off but don't know if I hit him or not. I fight him off and now with a sprained wrist, I pick myself up, take my broken pride and self back to the camp office when here comes another wolf. At this point I'm running away in a panic missing the entrance to the train car, I have a sprain so I can't use the rifle and I can't stop and take painkillers because the wolf is too close, I also have an infection risk from the attack as well. I somehow escape his detection radius and make it back to the camp office where I take pain killers to heal my sprain. I even seen that the infection risk had turned into an actual infection. Still kind of in a panic, I open my First Aid menu and see that I have a emergency stim and for some reason thought that would heal my infection. So I go upstairs to the stove where I start cooking the wolf meat, forgetting that I have an infection.. Ended up dying at the stove while the meat was still cooking My mouse learned to fly that day as I flung it across my room hehe So yes a very dumb death but it was my own stupid fault for getting cocky with the rifle
  22. Ahh the Moose, such an elusive creature(aka a pain in the ass ) In my experience, Moose will be in one area for a little bit then just disappear without a trace. I have even seen rubbed trees but no moose in the area which is really annoying. In Mystery Lake I have seen them by the Trappers Homestead, the river by the dam and over by the cabin on the other side of The Unnamed Pond(Over the Hill but rarely found there in my own experience)
  23. Thank you, I'll have to remember to upload them .. As for my favorite base camps, that's hard to pick as I do have a few. To start, I love the Camp Office in Mystery Lake due to how centralized it is with access to both hunting and fishing and you never have to walk far if you get a deer, wolf or are carrying fish. Plus it's nostalgia too as Mystery Lake was my first region I ever played in the days of early alpha and have learned so much by just playing in that region and a lot of trial and error My next choice would be both Pleasant Valley Farmstead and Signal Hill radio tower as the farmstead has a high number of items even on Stalker difficulty. And Signal Hill because there's a good chance of finding some of the best items in the game (EG) I have found the expedition parka with plenty of food and rifle ammunition. How about you? Do you have a favorite base?
  24. Not too much at first as I had plenty of drawers to store stuff but then soon I'd forget where I'd put my stuff lol I also recently discovered there was an in game journal that I can write in to make a note of where I put my stuff, it also lets me kind of write my own story of some sorts. Never knew there was such a thing in all my years of playing .. Though I have put things on counters just to get them out of my inventory and to save weight. In one save, I had grey mother's kitchen table and dining table covered with sodas and other canned items and talk about OCD, holy God it is bad with me
