  1. Fixed an issue where wolf howls would repeat unintentionally. Added the option to skip the initial Photosensitivity Warning screen upon subsequent launches of the title. Added an option to consume Water directly from the vessel used to boil it. Appreciate these ones the most (other than the game-breaking fixes)
  2. Judging by the success of first DLC, the apparent focus on multiple new projects, and words about finalizing TLD, the answer seems No.
  3. They're apparently working on numerous other new projects/games simultaneously. RVL even promoted his second-in-command to take charge of TLD while he concentrated on these new efforts. I feel that's the primary mistake they're making and why everything keeps getting delayed all the time, too many eggs in one basket. Well, this and continuous bug fixes that still keep piling up + unrealistic promised timeframes on top of that. Consoles also need million years of optimization and they still haven't managed to pull out the Switch port. Splitting the survival mode and story mode as separate technical entities was given as explanation why we were supposedly gonna get new updates faster, but obviously that didn't really happen. They should just concentrate on 1) Finishing the DLC 2) After that finishing EP5 3) Then final optimizations, bug fixes and touches to the game + console ports = official finalization of TLD 4) Only then think of the next project(s).
  4. They are now two completely different platforms so I don't think they're gonna bother (Until Episode 5 comes out in few years, then I assume they'll carry over some of the features such as those arm asthetics)
  5. Yes, on the Steam store page for TFTFT it still claims a 12 month campaign https://store.steampowered.com/app/2091330/The_Long_Dark_Tales_from_the_Far_Territory/ The same reads on official TLD expansion page https://www.thelongdark.com/expansion/ And FAQ page + it also still claims there's update roughly every 8-10 weeks (lol) https://www.thelongdark.com/expansion/faq/ It's no wonder people are confused when it's just mentioned on a random blog post posted a long time ago
  6. Likely it's more indoor hazards if it's more of a indoor map (which I assume it is)... so akin to the toxic gas of Blackrock, pollution or whatever. But I hope not, avalanches or something would be better
  7. Well, obviously the new region was going to come with this update, considering it should've already come out months ago. In fact if we were still with with the original promised 12 month DLC plan we would most likely now already be looking at the Mountain Pass conceptual arts instead. Now I think we will be lucky if we get that next Summer...
  8. Agree, I'd rather take making the late game finally harder & more meaningful any day over any of these other features. The biggest issue in the game has always been that you can easily survive forever, in any official or custom difficulty (excluding mods) if you just make it past the first 40-50 days in proper fashion.
  9. TBH while this thing might be realistic in terms of real world survival (for once), I don't understand the need for it at all now that you can get 15 kilograms (moose hide, well fed, technical backback) of extra weight gifts on top of your regular 30kg carry weight. In fact you can also add on top of that 5-10kgs of weight while still moving relatively smoothly...
  10. Well, 6 month gap between updates is only slightly more than the originally promised 8-10 weeks, right? Right? Don't forget there's now aim to finish Part 5, Part 6, AND Episode 5 all in 2024 (while simultaneously working on new projects). I'm sure that'll all work out in scheduled time.
  11. Almost certainly... late November at earliest...
  12. Thank you for the bug fixes. As for the schedule. Somehow I have hard time believing 2024 is going to "finish" TLD. That is, finish both the remaining portions of the DLC (with the final new region and seemingly still all of the most complex promises like custom safehouses, cougar, better graphics) AND Episode 5 (including likely another new region and costly animations/voiceovers), PLUS simultaneously designing these new title(s??!).. I mean, even right now we have half a year wait between DLC part 3 and DLC part 4, even though we haven't had new region since last year. We of course also have the historic context of EP4 pushbacks. Just saying, I'm keeping the timeframe realistic. It's safer to just aim for 2025... or even 2026... then the new projects. In fact, the new projects should only become the focus after we have the launch for final portions of TLD. At least we seem to have the "traditional December package" again.
  13. Some general info? Sounds like late October or early November for next update then... Will this original 12-month update period be closer to 24 months than 18 months, I wonder.
  14. Once again I came to conclusion how ridiculously overpowered beachcombing now is. Playing low recovery harsh settings + max bleak weather and spawning in DP, there was blizzard every day, and seemingly every morning you were able to just walk out to the edge of the ice and, among other gifts, get very high calories fish for free from these _loot crates_. There was no particular need to bother with other food sources when you just know the next free package is about to spawn. It's ludicrously easy. If we cannot have beachcombing (and the new luxury bunkers) disabled in the Custom settings, I'm just have to ignore them then. But pretending they don't exist isn't very thrilling so I still wish for disable option. Would the Custom disable slider be hard to implement @Admin? (Btw we also still need Custom slider for Ptarmigan spawns)
  15. The core problem of the game, even in the harder difficulties has always been that it gets easier the longer you play and everything gets maxed our circa day 50 or so. After that the challenge is merely to keep yourself motivated to keep playing. Reaching interloper day 1000 is no harder than reaching day 60, other than the grind and time it takes to get there. Something artificial like Darkwalker or "Demon wolves" or whatever ain't the answer to that IMO, the actual mechanics have needed overhaul for longest time.
  16. Yes, they've done this for couple of years now (in the fire lookout towers)
  17. Speaking of which, has Raphael said anything on Twitter recently... X... X-Twitter via Elon Musk... it's hard to view nowadays so can't check myself... and as we've discussed before not the greatest of locations to drop hints of things to come. But you know, in the absensence of other communication, you take what you can
  18. Cities Skylines 2 is doing amazing stuff in this regard, with weekly video updates and staff discussions, all planned ahead for weeks and weeks... Crickets are unfortunate
  19. Yeah, there are simply too many of them (too)
  20. The last region was in December and it's almost September so yes, they can't really delay it much longer. Well, they can, but...
  21. The most simplest of recipes like porridges and some breads are alright as they are easy-to-carry, fairly realistic preserved foods for NOGOA / other low recovery runs which you can make while warming-up by the fire. They are like cat tail preserves. But the rest seem like luxury camping hobbies. Haven't even tried most of them. I don't feel like pies and pancakes etc are what anyone would be doing in survival situation. More like ski trip or preparing for weekend's family gathering. And it also seems like excess work for not that much. Rather than making these recipes I'd rather have had them improve the core cooking+water+warming-up mechanics.
  22. That might be true for larger, better insulated and more modern buildings, but for smaller simple cottages (majority of indoor locations in TLD) or buildings made out of stone etc it will be colder. Our place in the winter was usually -15 to -20 celcius inside, even if it was only -10 outside, and it took hours and hours to heat up properly with fire on. Also, no building in the world will have constant static temperature on it's own without heating (or cooling), as in TLD, it will change with the outside.
