  1. The model on the right sort of looks like a monster with long arms and legs! 😄
  2. The problem with mods is that there is no quarantee they'll get updated indefinitely, as it is completely up to the mod maker. Nor that game version X won't break them temporarily or permanently (I know they promised mod support before, but it's not been mentioned again). Therefore, committing to mods can lead to disappointments. I mean yes, there is Time Capsule, but that means compromises as well. I wish someone in the dev team was uber fan of Relentless Night... they should be...
  3. That's the thing we have needed the most since the game launched. Relentless Night mod fixes this (the non static temps among other things) but I would want the base game to do it. In the real world, I have gone to a cabin in the woods that was -25 celcius inside even though it was only -15 in the outside, and it took 2 hours to even heat it up to +10 degrees.
  4. I don't ACTUALLY think there will be any NPCs, surely the Trader thing is something less of consequence. But if so after all, then there must indeed be an option to disable it in the Custom Game options, as that would be immediately immersion breaking as well as game breaking for me. That, or it would have to be disabled via mods. I do not enjoy the NPCs in Story Mode (well, or the Story in the first place) but at least they were isolated to only there. Also, these characters potentially trading something to you sounds like RPG... Some story things incorporated into Survival I don't mind as long as they are truly optional and don't interfere with anything. Sort of like the code doors in Bleak and Blackrock, or the aurora messages on PC screens, that's fine.
  5. Didn't they say in the previous diary (April?) that full mod support is coming up, maybe they just didn't want to repeat themselves. I wish Relentless Night was part of the core game... the rest of the mods I don't really care for but that one, I feel is essential...
  6. I think mentions of stuff like "Trader" may seem scary on paper as they kind of sound like potentially disgusting microtransactions creeping into the game, but I remember when they first talk of "Auto walk" and there was some fear it might mean game ruining fast travel system. But we know Hinterland better than that now, they won't dilute the game with such tactics. Overall the feeling of these news is extremely positive, even if losing of the old saves bites a little bit, not only for myself but for some long running Youtube LPs too. There is also a danger that redoings of loot and wildlife tables will mess up the mechanics of Deadman/NOGOA but at the same time they could also strengthen it's too, so it's all to play for.
  7. Well since we're still getting just sound of hollow wind up here, I have to ask, has Raphael written anything of interest to his socials lately... you used to be able to read twitter feeds without being logged in, but not anymore, not really...
  8. In times like these, I'm just glad there are couple of amazing modded hardcore runs going on Youtube, they keep me going.
  9. I wonder if we get the September Dev Diary in October or November. Probably in October right. October of 2023? And it will be exclusively on Twitter. Maybe we'll be tweeted about the upcoming tweet soon.
  10. Yeah you can live with it but it seems like such easy thing to fix. Well, maybe someday. Hopefully the September Dev Diary announces something for Christmas. And maybe Halloween.
  11. Are buff teas still broken? Or do you still have to do the glitchy dance routine besides fires? Haven't checked yet.
  12. Literally nothing happening. We've had couple of background hotfixes early this year and Dev Diary in April but nothing else and it is August. I mean, I don't mind the lack of game updates, especially since there is a major shift coming up in how the game is handled, for all I care if there's just the regular December big update that is enough. But to again how absolutely no news for months and months on how things are progressing is so misjudged. The PR department really is not up to it's game (some shared fan screenshots on instagram don't count), I mean I must not be alone in thinking general audience interest in the game drops to the bottom when there are long mysterious breaks. Even like a 3 sentence update line somewhere could go a long way. Even if there's nothing to report other than "things are progressing well for the next X, we just started building Y and then..."
  13. Old saves not working by design when new updates roll over. Oh wait.
  14. HRV is the noisiest of all regions with the billion waterfalls, so no hushing there!
  15. I always play Custom with Survival monologue disabled. Gone are all the horrible phrases and gasping sounds. It's insane that this is the only way you can do it, but here we are.
  16. Maybe a mechanic where it automatically saves the game every 3-5 IRL minutes, if no other saving has occurred in between. That would also help with some peoples save scumming tactics?
  17. But on Interloper you only have to eat the bare minimum if you use the old starvation technique?
  18. This is something I've wanted to exist for a while... I wish there was some sort of option to be able to own two Steam copies of TLD, one for regular up-to-date purposes, and another for time capsule adventures... you know, so that you could play the two without having to revert between them manually. Quickly, and without a chance of some sort of bug affecting the game files, whether going to the old versions or to the newest current one. It would also be another nice way of funding the efforts of Hinterland, you know if there was a legitimate, separate "legacy edition" of TLD in the market. Now, I guess you could theoretically do this already if you had more than one Steam account or such but that sort of seems like a violation of Steam user agreement...
  19. I would agree that snares are very useless for Interloper and below, I'm not sure I ever used them in those modes... however for Deadman the snares are very crucial to keep up with the calorie intake. And they are very easy to recycle too. Stones, I used to think they are meaningless as well, but they are actually massively important for wolf scaring / decoying. Can even save you from a moose attack if you're very lucky. So nowadays I always carry few of them wherever I go
  20. This was posted on Hinterland social media handles on 9th of Feb but not here, as separate thing... weird... anyway, some fixes to be expected in v2.00 Survivors, we are working on a number of known issues in Survival Mode for the next hotfix (date TBD): - Missing key in Paradise Meadows (Certain circumstances) - Drowning near water below Blackrock power plant - Carcasses decay rates (Ongoing) - Save issues on PS4/XBox Thanks!
  21. I once thought of the same thing, but then I came to realize that (other than a very brief feeling of some sort of accomplishment) the Feats are completely useless for me anyway. Why would I want to make the game easier on purpose? Even if I for some reason wanted to do that I could just tweak Custom more...
  22. I almost never make fires "just to make water", as I said for me water production merely functions as simultaneous byproduct of having fires for other reasons. And no I won't use water purs "as I find them", because why would I carry or store non-boiled water with me just in case I happen to find those tablets somewhere... Birch bark tea isn't on my list since it doesn't even exist on Deadman so why put it there... just as is the case with guns, they don't exist. Now, I did put flashlight on the list even though it's just Stalker loot but that's my bad... it's very useless for other players anyway so I forgive myself As for water production while sleeping... If I'm outdoors while sleeping next to the fire, I usually sleep in one hour intervals. Water in 2x half liter cans, put to boil just before sleeping won't vaporize during that time, there's couple minutes left before it is burned when you wake up. One thing I will say is that if the toilets were to give you unclean water, then I might consider the tablets to be kinda handy because dragging that spoiled water with you for boiling sonewhere would be very annoying. But alas, right now toilet water is just a free bonus (or livesafer before you have matches...) and water tablets are useless. For me anyway
