  1. Cattails could easily be nerfed if there was separate slider in the Custom options for them. Perhaps even to turn them off completely. Currently, there is slider for "harvestable plants", which decreases the amount of overall plants (cattails, reishi, rose hip etc). So you can have that set as "low", instead of the ridiculously overpowered "high" that even Interloper has for some bizarre reason as default. However, even the "low" setting gives you millions of cattails and those other plants, particularly now that the game world is so massive. Coal amount should be another "low/medium/high" setting too. And as I've said before, beachcombing, bunkers and some other game-easing luxury assets should have "on/off" buttons as well. I doubt this would be that hard to implement. Agree on the water/liquids freezing. As for the interiors being colder, yes they were 10 degrees colder in that "Winter's Embrace" oneoff event back in 2020, but otherwise that was very easy Voyager-based event that you could offset by any clothes you found in the first 2 minutes. Besides, AFAIK the temperatures didn't really change per outside, they were just generally slightly colder. But yes generally speaking, interiors should definitely be colder, in real life these cottages and whatnot are in fact often much colder than the outside if not preheated for hours and hours. There should definitely be an option in the Custom options to enable cold interiors and temperature drop in accordance to outdoor temperatures. Currently, you can only do it in the Relentless Nights -mod.
  2. Yeah, you can treat them as 'sick wolves', kind of like foxes with mange or something
  3. Yeah and the problems with mods is you never know when they stop working with future updates
  4. There will eventually probably be option in the Custom options to disable it anyway. That being said, I'm still waiting for options to turn off bunkers, beachcombing, glimmer fog etc...
  5. They're synonyms https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protein_poisoning
  6. How so? Final Region (Mountain Pass) Cougar Global Wildlife refresh Safehouse customization High-end Graphics Trader Camera mode Hunted Part 3 First five things above are the ones I've waited for most since this DLC thing was first announced. If I had to guess what happens: Part 5 (late Spring...) Probably another Tale thing Global Wildlife refresh Trader Camera mode Hunted Part 3 Console performance fixes Some other minor things Part 6 (next Christmas...) Mountain Pass Cougar Safehouse customization High end graphics Switch version Final touches to the Survival mode as it's officially finished
  7. This is definitely a good change if implemented properly. The old one was too easy and unrealistic, and as said only encouraged in camping (or glamping).
  8. The scurvy thing is the one I'm actually most excited about this update (well other than the flask + the new region, even though those poison uber-wolves seem bit fantastical) as it finally brings some sort of emphasis on issues with long term survival using mainly meat based diet. It will be interesting to see how that stacks up in the end-game phase. Next up, I wish they'd also look at the "rabbit starvation" / protein poisoning issue (as Les explains here at 32:52) As for the flask, it seems like a great tool for NOGOA/Deadman since it should help in reducing setting up new warming-up fires & new tea-buffs after every 3 minutes. I mean in a sense that makes NOGOA bit easier, which is something I usually don't want the game to do, but constantly making new fires was also bit unrealistic aspect of that game mode, so it's ok. Of course, we will actually still have to see how much liquid those flasks can actually hold, and how much more time they keep warm versus the old buffs.
  9. Hate everything about it. Also, just like the new beachcombing it will surely be overpowered.
  10. Sadly, that is correct, weather maxes out circa day 50, it never gets any colder than that. And by max values it's still pretty mild even with all Custom settings put to max. The only way to make it colder is to run the great Relentless Night mod, where you can max it out -120 celcius and have interiors affected, make the end game truly special.
  11. I find it like any other region really, not much more difficult or easier. Of course, unless you spawn there or are bored there's not really that much reason to visit any of it. It's just general loot. Anyway, it has nice atmosphere.
  12. While waiting for something to happen, here are the past release dates for the "December region updates" since those became a permanent thing post-HRV. (Yes, I'm basically now treating this next DLC patch as another region update too) Bleak Inlet - December 9, 2019 Ash Canyon - December 7, 2020 Blackrock (Survival version) - December 7, 2021 Forsaken Airfield - December 5, 2022 It's probably a safe bet that we'll get something in 4 weeks time then.
  13. Still almost full day left...!
  14. Maybe there will be a Halloween Miracle. Gift from the Great Pumpkin. We only have to believe.
  15. And even in the age before Elon Musk, this twitter feed in question was also filled with personal posts that had nothing to do with TLD, so you had to scroll through to find the "updates"
  16. No, they haven't done Halloween updates for number of years now and they don't have time anyway.
  17. For very brief second, when I opened the forums I thought someone had replied to "October dev diary" thread, but alas, too good to be true, and it's still the September one Crickets
  18. Less items, craftables, recipes please and more environmental and gameplay changes (/fixes) instead
  19. Hey look! It's the Ghost of Great Bear Past. Flying outside of my window. She's telling me - I think - that it's not Christmas yet. "Have you forgot the spirit of past Christmas updates" she says in a voice that echoes. Tiny Tim will have to wait his meal and fix to the leg for little while longer. The hospital down the street has been renowating for a while now, too. But it's alright. I have these cream crackers. The expiration date has been scratched off and I think they've added too much salt to the new recipe but you know, that's life. Snow will fall eventually.
  20. Yes, I imagine two rabbit belts and three tinder plugs
  21. Once attempted with pad and it was terrible, as are all first person games. I don't think you could do Nogoa/Deadman without the fast precision of mouse
