  1. I can confirm that timberwolves are averagely bigger. My biggest baby so far had an impressive 6.9kg of meat.
  2. It's just empirically, but I think that the hammer makes the wolf flee way faster than any other tools

    stubborn bear

I've tried with the bow, the arrow just broke. But the revolver did the trick. Except that the bear didn't bleed out 'cause I had to go back inside to get warmer, and the 2 years old bug that makes bears respawn is still operating...

    Dear Santa,

    thanks for your feedback.
  5. isn't the hammer better to avoid damage ?
  6. Hunting lodge in BR : 2 moose spawns (1 nearby, 1 at your doorstep), 1 bear that you can kill from far and bring back safely (via rope, so it's a tough work, but it's 30kg and there's a nice cave to rest), wolves and rabbits, a cave nearby to enjoy camping (hey there cabin fever!), a workbench, a forge just a few wolves away, tons of resources... When I get there fully geared, I let it behind only because I'm bored... To get rid of the wolves, you can use the front door, if you miss, just go inside. There's also at least 3 timbers to climb on, rabbits to push to them, etc
  7. gg impressive knowledge of the different timings (like a cooking level VI mixed with blizzard master)
  8. Happened to me too, took me some time to understand... It's just that the ammo workbench let the menu to the ammo selection. When moving to the 'normal' workbench, you have to switch the filters (bottom left of the workbench menu)
  9. For the tenth time, I have no fish !

    Dear Santa,

I know you just had a tough period, old Santa, and you maybe want to rest a little. I'm good with that, I'm making my wishes list for the whole year to come, so you'll be ready for the next holidays ! a camera mode : the one they use to make nice promotion videos. It's not for me directly, as I'm not skillful in that domain, but I'm sure the community will do wonders with such a tool firecrackers : I want the packs to be introduce in almost every maps. But interloper and loper-like runs need a tool to deal with them. If I can make gunpowder, can't I create something with it, non-deadly, just to scare them away ? Could be also useful with regular lonely wolves to make them stop following me all around a map. timberwolfs' special hide (and the according craftable item that would make me eager to hunt them) remove or rework the sprain mechanism : I know that won't happen, but I don't like it and that's MY wish list 😛 ski : I often go down the mountains as if I was skiing, I wish I could stop pretending difficulty levels in challenges (and custom challenges) : deadman with no human-made food, nomad with stalker wolves... new animal : my two favorites would be vultures and walrus, but I'm in if you add any other one ! I could go on and on during hours... and that would be hours and hours of hard work for just one wish to become true. So, as always, do as it pleases you, as it suits better your idea of your own creation. I wish you the best for the years to come, dear Santa, take care !
  11. Maybe... When they're used to be left alone with food for days, they learn to deal with it. But maybe throwing up is not really getting sick, sometimes. You can check why the wolves are doing that exact same thing.
  12. the same, they avoid difficult path/area, but if you try to get too close or if it is a straight line, all animals will charge. I've tried some, they can't climb most of them, but the horizontal ones can be used like that (beware that they often try to surround you). The ones they can't climb are still a good spot to shot, yet very tricky (first time I tried, I could kill one but I had to run and come back later to retrieve all my arrows stuck in the snow...). I don't like the hunter blind, I don't know, I'm not good when they are running so close, but to each hunter his style I hope that's true. I'm trying the same. You can also use the Aurora to your advantage. If you are in a safe spot, they'll keep coming at you. I had the 3 packs roaming below me in the cannery (the cannery one, the trailer one and I guess the marsh one), that was fun... kinda... I've tracked one last member like you would do with a highly susceptible deer. Basically : check the path, take a high ground, move forward crouching, take a long shot, wait if you miss, long shot, etc... I think so too. It's like with bears, if you don't want to hunt them, you just avoid their path. Except that their awareness range is huge, and when the wind turns, better be ready to run. Yep, but sometimes arrows don't really reappear where you expect them to (the wind, the slope, maybe the animals can push it) I can confirm that. I pushed a deer to a timberwolf near the tower. I've heard the kill, so I went for a easy-old-school-wolf-hunting, but the timberwolf was just ignoring the deer and growled at me, followed by its two buddies in a matter of seconds. Btw, they can climb stairs........
  13. btw @jeffpeng I've finished the challenge yesterday, slow and steady. I went to the lighthouse in DP to check, the stim was there. And there was nothing else... Here's the safe path if you'd like to give it a try
  14. Ola ! I totally agree with the idea that timberwolves should yield better hides than wolves, as an incentive to hunt them. A new pant would be interesting, since we already have 3 different skin-coats (a timber snow-pants would be nice), or a totally new item like a blanket, a snow-shelter roof-top, a comfy underwear (), an extra scarf to protect the face even if you already have 2 head covers... anything really...
  15. fyi, there's a way to climb to the lighthouse from below the 2nd bridge, so you don't have to cross the wolves path gg guys for your runs !
  16. So, I've just made a try with a (not so) long run in Voyager, making him leave his peaceful retreat from TM. It's a voyage, so easy-peasy. Still, with just bow and arrow, the 3 Timberwolves were just running in circle around a high ground while I was shooting. After 2 dead, the third one went on infinite fly mode. You may avoid the region but, visiting only one 'inside' spot, I've found loot I've never seen before (apart from the one that came from the update), so my guess is that you'll find reward in loper too (btw, the challenge to go there and face the wolves can be a reward by itself). I just wish Hinterland would make the timberwolves' fur special, that could be a great way to make us go play with a pack. Can't wait to see timberwolves around the farm in PV... 6 to 8 of them roaming in an area... 😛
  17. Just my 2 cents: I won't jump on the "yeah revolver" train for interloper, yet. Interloper is the hardest mode, so it's hard, so we die. Remember not so far ago when we were saying that interloper was too easy ? Remember when you started interloper, when you were dying from the cold, from the wolves, from the bears... Now, I die only because I'm stupid when bored, I've learnt to deal with the rest. Let's learn the new map, let's learn the new tricks. Maybe we'll find a way. I, for example, don't see why you don't just kill them with your bow, they also have lacks in their pathways that allow you to shoot safely. But I'm trying to avoid spoilers, so maybe you all figured that out already.
  18. I just wanted to quickly give it a try Now, somebody, anybody, please help me

    Challenges Update

Ok, I got your point (including the side note). But in HR you will still have the in-game timer when you reached the end. The tools would help to have some checkpoints, test strategies, and so and so. GL on your wishes, anyway

    Challenges Update

There's tools for that. Check this for exemple, you'll see the timers on some videos.
  21. ok, nice ! Congrats' again to the winner
  22. I don't know if it's worth doing it. You can fake everything, you can cheat to achieve anything. I guess you just have to trust someone... or not... or just don't care
