  1. Just add a string to your cane ( now you have no excuse 😛)
  2. ok @TheRealPestilence may be tough on his judgment, but coming at him disrespectfully pretending that the bugs don't exist is just unfair. Yes, there are still a lot of bugs (the teas not providing bonus when used as a treatment, for example). Yes, this game deserves better testings (hopefully to help the coders, definitively to prevent some frustration...). It's still totally playable and will be improved, since it is still a work in progress. Chill, guys.
  3. So, I'm back to Milton within an old save, to do some exploration as a Voyageur. Arriving at Orca at sunset, I find two deers that clearly look like my breakfast. Shoot one, he goes running uphill. Ok, see you later. I take care of the second, one shot it. I can hear the first still stomping around, so I harvest the already dead one. Once finished, I load my back with the meat and all the sticks I can find, drop everything by the parc office, and start looking around. The night has come. I can't see, I'm tired, time to get some sleep. The next morning, I look everywhere. No carcass. I go up and down, nothing. Only thing I hear are crows, I can't see them but they seems to be down the cliff. At first, I thought it was coming from a corpse down there. Now that I've combed all the area, I must go there to be sure. As I'm about to take the rope : "Damn. How, why, but, grmmpppffff, gimme back my arrow at least !" Even the crows bugged, I don't know where they are flying but they are nowhere I can see. Just to be sure, I give it a closer look. Ok, no, definitively not a ledge. Anyway : challenge accepted ! I try to find a path around, maybe there's one leading to that spot on the cliff But there's an invisible wall. No choice, straight down to the point. I'm happy to see my arrow, but really not comfortable. I harvest it, because, hmm, why not ? And then, my biggest stupidest hope : No, you can't take a rope midway (poke @devs @modders) M'kay, so... Nope. That won't do. Let's goat down ! Quite surprised, I make it safely to the ground and go back to the top with the rope. So long deer, thanks for teaching me how to jump off that cliff, could be useful for my next transition to Mystery Lake.
  4. yeah, that made me rethink the whole BR situation, a map that I was avoiding (except for runs like this one when I can't find hammer in FM). But now that I've checked the yard correctly, there are some good places to wait safely for the wolves to come get some iron. So, arrows+fur vest definitively worth the trip, if you have bow and sticks ready. Plus I love the hunting lodge, I can finally see how to make it a regular home without fearing to much to cross the map. My pleasure
  5. ho, anyway, if I see more than 2, I run the other way. So 10 or 11 or 20... especially when you know there can be a bear wishing to join the party...
  6. I went there to make arrows to stop being defenseless :). I arrived too tired to make starting a fire worth it. I was just enjoying the last bit of light, because I haven't heard any bark or howl since the locomotive where I had to pay the gate-keeper (extortion, wolfy mafia style). In fact, I was really lucky to be in this, they came soundless. I went in because I thought I've seen something in it, it was just a strange form of the frame. I went further up for the "fun", stopped to think about the wolves and s****ed my pants seeing 3 actually showing up. Anyway, using a rifle here against 3 wolves might just trigger the charge, I think. I did take out a torch and was about to light it when they started running.
  7. me: "what ? no, that can't be" checking the image, counting 11: "hem, I knew it wasn't 10..."
  8. I was just looking around the maintenance yard trap, when I thought "hu, stupid me, can wolves come in here ? If so, I'll be soon feeling like a rabbit, and end like one..." Turns out they can't, you can see 2 of the three wolves that came seconds later, all of them did the puppy fear dance before leaving the yard.
  9. I've tried it a few in-game days. By reading, your skill levels up quickly. If I remember correctly, at lvl2 you can easily one-shot a wolf. At lvl4, I did kill a bear and a moose with 4 or fewer bullets. To my opinion, for a long run I would use it as travel buddy, and keep the bow for hunting. I would keep the bullets to be safe while exploring a new area, or when I bring back food to a "camp". It's great at scaring wolves, and can be used to clear a path that you really want/need to be onto.
  10. Hi ! Can you talk to us about the birds' sounds ? Did you make it or recorded some ? What species are we listening to ? (Is it an owl in Coastal Highway ?) Thanks for your time.
  11. I've been passing by another area and I thought about your post. Have you consider Milton Basin + [Forlorn]Marsh RIdge ? That's two huge spots for barks, separate by only small climbings. If you have low HP but a bedroll, that seems to be a nice recovery area. My pleasure.

    glowing arrows

Wanna go learn basic logic ?

    glowing arrows

I just explained how. Ok, good, bbye ! No, it's all about making the best use of your environment.

    glowing arrows

Since we often struggle to find arrows, and since we have access to some phosphorescent mushrooms, why not allow to scrub arrows on the mushrooms in order to make them glowing a little ? (could be used for many other things but, as a first step, flashy green arrows would be nice)
  15. confirmed recovery at rest : low recovery awake : none
  16. I think that's not a bug, it's a feature It's like a visual signal of a blizzard roaming. You'll see it from inside the caves too.

    New Maps

yep, I guess that plane was supposed to land somewhere.
  18. FYI, I've killed a moose in 4 shots, I'm skill level 4 on Voyageur. Last shot was in the head, I think.
  19. There's no drawback. After one or two books, you kill. The aiming system makes it really easy and, as I just saw, at higher skill levels there's even an auto-aim help. The revolver makes traveling a piece of cake. You kill the first wolf/bear that shows and all the rest will flee. Also, with the rifle, if you miss the first shot, there's almost no chance to have time to fire again. With the revolver you can fire 3 times before the wolf gets you. I've tried with the bow or the rifle to shot at a fleeing wolf and never succeed. With the revolver I can run after them and shot as soon as they turn. That's a bazooka. And well, I'm happy to have give it a try in my long run Voyageur. I'll be pleased to go back to a custom challenge. I'm not sure of that, are you ? Totally.
  20. yeah, a daily mailbag ! 😛
  21. Revolver can kill rabbits, wolves, deers, bears and so probably moose (but not sure, it has to be a critical shot, I have yet to test it). Your skill level is important, more than the difficulty you play on.
  22. There is. The more obvious may be the new birds, I love the new birds. (please improve testings for the next update 😋. And don't give up on the perf enhancement, playing on a laptop it made a huge difference, for the short time it was on...).
  23. oh, thanks for the input. I play custom with awaken condition regain to none, I thought it could balance a bit, after a struggle for example. Good to know !
