I just discovered an easier shortcut to the High Path. The very first tree after transitioning in, you can get on that and jump from one of the branches.
Just above the bear cave, SE corner of Shoulder Lake, there is a climb where you need to cross 2 fallen trees and eventually reach this "cave" on the top. Nothing was up here (hmm...unless I already looted it...) Kind of unusual for HL to have the player make this effort to find nothing. Not complaining, just unusual - they normally have something at the "end", ya know?
Makes me think this is meant for some future purpose. Could be a future vantage point, quest objective...other ideas?
Love the view from Island Cottage. Put a chair on the porch with some sippin' whiskey... Good view of my rabbit snares below.
Mindful Cabin has an awesome view as well. And I do like the idea of a loft. Bigger porch. Harder to get to.
This is shortly after entering the zone but before you reach the rabbits. Once you're on top (where my video ends), I'll leave the rest to your exploration skills but you should be able to drop down very close to the hangar. There is one other tricky area where you jump back over the road to a slightly higher ledge. Maneuvering will eventually get you over that as well - it can be done.

Decided to come back to this area after my initial exploration. Just found you could crouch and go down this chute and climb up the other side.
Found a bearskin bedroll in the room on the other side!
This obviously looks like some type of transition. I'm guessing once HL opens up the new connecting zone, they will add a rope as well. In the meantime...brief glimpse from the top:

My preferred dark-places exploration lighting source has always been the lantern but lately it seems to put off a horrible hazy halo effect. Anyone else seeing this in their game? Want to make sure it is not some graphics setting I have. I've added a torch as comparison.
Not sure if this is new or not, but does it seem to you that the fire in the fire barrels seems brighter? It's noticeable to me when trying to read the text for my cooking meat as you can see in this screenshot:
I could be wrong, but I seem to recall reading/discussing transition saves. I seem to recall it was to prevent us from re-rolling the loot tables in a location (i.e. without a save point, you could enter, exit, enter, exit a location until a desired/good loot item appeared within based upon RNG).
The bear spear is "kind of" in the game already. All they have to do is make it available in survival mode. I'm guessing it hasn't been released yet due to game balance?
