Without any tools, I would try to scrape/break off bits of bark and kindling and essentially try to break up the wood as much as possible to help lighting and burning.

I had that happen to me twice there as well!

As @SpanishMoss pointed out, only HL can do that. Saves are located at: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Hinterland\TheLongDark\Survival

Have you tried to replicate the issue with a new run? That may help answer if your save game file is corrupt.

12gb should be plenty to play the game. Have you tried a repair and/or uninstall/install?

Well, I guess the moral of the story is, if hunting bear with a revolver works for you, do it! I'll continue to hunt with either a bow or rifle, so I can have more reaction time when the bear chooses to charge.

From my understanding, anything which causes the bear to bleed, does technically "kill" it with one shot. When I hear of a "one-shot kill", I think you shoot it the first time and it drops over dead on the spot. Are you saying the revolver is causing more "bleed" shots?

Just slightly: The Spelunker's Lantern is 40% more efficient than the Storm Lantern, burning Lantern Fuel at a slower rate than the normal variant. As a minor downside, the Spelunker Lantern's light radius is somewhat smaller than the standard storm lantern.

I've picked up The Forest - not a bad survival game. Really similar to Green Hell.

The DLC is different than the episodes. Just because something has been in the past, you can guarantee it will happen in the future? Try to be more optimistic - you'll be happier.
