  1. It would be nice if the spay paint would remain equipped after being used, sometimes I want to make a chain of arrows for blizzard/fog navigation and it's very clunky needing to reselect the spray can each time. Some additional symbols would be nice too; exit, mine, cave, gas, shelter, snare, tip-up, thin ice, symbols for each of the animals ect. Long shot no.1 Allowing the spaypaint or light source to be carried in the left hand for smoother cave/mine path marking. Long shot no.2 Rare variant: Radium paint. Increases chemical poisoning risk when applying but is slightly luminous allowing for torchless navigation in caves/mines.
  2. It would be nice if the new ingredients could be made renewable though beachcombing and having the occasional boat wash up with crates of produce onboard, once intended for the few residents of great bear before being lost at sea. Water from ice fishing holes has been a long requested feature, with the addition of salt perhaps fresh water sources could provide unsafe water and the coastal regions could provide seawater which could be boiled dry to make salt.
  3. I'm hoping with the base customisation they will add candles or crude oil lamps using recycled cans, cloth and lamp oil or rendered fat. I'm fond of crafting at night and sleeping in the fishing huts during the day to reduce cabin fever risk. An ambient light source and long burning fire keeper would be a nice addition to the game.
  4. Looking to buy another copy of the game as I suspect the dlc won't come to switch until 2024. But I'm hoping I can pick up the game on sale, any idea how long I may need to wait?
  5. Why isn't the official soundtrack avaliable on spottify and other music steaming platforms? It's such a nice soundtrack and I'd love to be able to listen to it without sailing the seven seas.
  6. I'm on switch but haven't seen anything about a release window for the dlc on consoles yet.
  7. I've been thinking about some of the possibilities for the upcoming overhaul to the cooking system, here's what I'm hoping to see: Water from fishing holes, sea water could be boiled dry to create salt. Water from lakes and ponds would still need to be boiled to make it safe to drink. Salt uses: Drying and smoking meat and fish. Meat/fish + salt, hung indoors for several days or over a fire for several hours. Cooking skill would determine condition. Creating a brine to preserve food. Combining portable water with a lot of salt to make saline solution for use as an antiseptic. Animal fat uses: Collected from hunted animals, bears would be the best source and rabbits would provide little to no fat. Needs to be rendered over a fire before it can be used in cooking/crafting. Used in cooking to up the calorie count in food, make Pemmican and for making confit or potted meat/fish (cooking and storing in fat is a early method of preserving food) Candles: recycled can + rendered animal fat + cloth, provides a small amount of warmth and burns for a long time (8-12 hours) provides less light than a torch or lantern but can be used to craft by. Can can be recovered by harvesting. Other things I hope to see: Cooking spits, for cooking in bulk. Instead of cooking meat 1-2 kilos at a time over a fire you could add a few kilos of meat to the spit. Wooden spit (craftable, low durability) 1-3kg, metal spit (found item) 1-8kg. Drying rack, used by a fire for smoking or indoors for drying meat. Stock pot, for bulk cooking. Bulk preparation of rose hips, reshi mushrooms, birch bark ect. Pine needle tea. Improvised ice box Camping stove. Fueled by lantern oil, allows cooking indoors in locations without a stove/fire.
  8. I'm wondering if the addition of a new hardwood tree will open the possibility for some new tools. I'm hoping we will get a spear possibly with fire hardened and metal tipped varients. Ideally spears would be thowable and usable in struggles, with the fire tipped able to bring down medium sized wildlife (deer and wolves) and the metal tipped ones being necessary to take down a moose or bear.
  9. Id love to be able to build a tent or lean-to out of wood and animal hides as a semi perminent shelter. Some of the larger regions are difficult/dangerous to explore due to lack of shelter and high blizzard chances.
