  1. Cooking is a pretty popular nighttime activity. Double-productive then...as your food cooks/water boils, do something else (sleep, mend clothes, break down clothes, read a book, etc.) It's good practice to start seeking shelter as dusk approaches. Don't want to be caught outside at night (for lots of reasons).
  2. There's actually quite a bit of stuff you can do at night. But I think the idea is that you do enough during the day to tire yourself out and need to rest to recover your fatigue meter to full. Course, all this depends on your game settings/difficulty level. Perhaps repair your clothes by a fire at night vs during the daylight hours?
  3. If harvested warm Could have opposite effect for frozen meat! Seems that would be really hard to develop - dynamically calculate temperature of carried meat * weight of each piece of meat (a larger piece would stay warm longer)...yikes.
  4. Just wondering, after killing the 1st bear, why didn't you harvest and transport that one before killing another on the opposite end of the map? You should have enough time to transport the meat before the carcass' disappear. Just empty your inventory, run to one bear, harvest it all, back to base, then same with other bear? Or, don't take the meat ALL the way to your base - find a temporary location you can store it in. Or build yourself some rock caches to store the meat. I don't think HL would add a 3rd "weight-increasing item" when we have the Technical Backpack and the Moose-Hide Satchel now.
  5. You're asking for a "note" posted somewhere in each lootable location listing what is available to loot at that location and to dynamically update as you remove and add items from said location? Yikes...would be very cool, but I think really hard to do developmentally. For now, I just use the in-game Journal or Notepad on my PC to keep track of "stashes". Would be too time-consuming to have a thorough inventory and updating it constantly.
  6. I was thinking this too, but HL specifically says "interior" locations for this.
  7. I'll try to see if I can repeat it when I get off work.
  8. That's odd. Every run I've ever done (and that's a lot!) (that I recall), there has been a den there. I didn't think landscape features changed between runs. I'm going to do some new runs in ML to test this.
  9. Pretty sure there used to a bear cave here? Now, just 2 corpses. TheLongDark 2023-01-18 17-15-47.mp4
  10. Or, allow us to pick up some of those wooden planks and lay them across the small gap on the pier.
  11. It has been proven, time and again, the quickest way to death in this game in impatience. Glad you survived!
  12. I believe (currently) the Glimmer Fog only appears in the airfield. As others have pointed out, sounds like this is an issue that only occurs in Transfer Pass and/or new areas.
  13. Just noticed something else, but maybe related. I was enjoying a nice night out in FM, some bear steaks on the fire, when the aurora fired up. The fire immediately became quite a bit brighter.
  14. That picture was taken outside of the airfield.
  15. Based upon Voy difficulty, I'd go with Cooking then Archery.
  16. I just discovered an easier shortcut to the High Path. The very first tree after transitioning in, you can get on that and jump from one of the branches.
  17. Just above the bear cave, SE corner of Shoulder Lake, there is a climb where you need to cross 2 fallen trees and eventually reach this "cave" on the top. Nothing was up here (hmm...unless I already looted it...) Kind of unusual for HL to have the player make this effort to find nothing. Not complaining, just unusual - they normally have something at the "end", ya know? Makes me think this is meant for some future purpose. Could be a future vantage point, quest objective...other ideas?
  18. Love the view from Island Cottage. Put a chair on the porch with some sippin' whiskey... Good view of my rabbit snares below. Mindful Cabin has an awesome view as well. And I do like the idea of a loft. Bigger porch. Harder to get to.
  19. This is shortly after entering the zone but before you reach the rabbits. Once you're on top (where my video ends), I'll leave the rest to your exploration skills but you should be able to drop down very close to the hangar. There is one other tricky area where you jump back over the road to a slightly higher ledge. Maneuvering will eventually get you over that as well - it can be done. 1287311158_TheLongDark2023-01-1510-58-40.mp4
  20. Decided to come back to this area after my initial exploration. Just found you could crouch and go down this chute and climb up the other side. Found a bearskin bedroll in the room on the other side!
  21. This obviously looks like some type of transition. I'm guessing once HL opens up the new connecting zone, they will add a rope as well. In the meantime...brief glimpse from the top: TheLongDark 2023-01-15 09-13-11.mp4
