  1. Thank you Hinterland for the fixes to the sinking corpses
  2. I take it this is early game before you get the bow. I always like picking them off from the loft. Really easy once you hit level 5 archery when you can crouch.
  3. Going to guess a bear mauling , she shot at the bear near the bridge and it turned on her before she could get to safety . It scratched her eyes with it's claws.
  4. So any Heavy Hammer spawns on Broken Railroad on Interloper. As it wouldn't be so bad if one could forge there . If starting on Forlorn one could jump there right away and get the improvised knife and hatchet.
  5. I started another interloper run as I reached 100 days and starting to get bored with that one. Started me on Forlorn Muskeg way at the far end of the map near Broken Railroad. Made a quick dash for Spence Homestead spent one night then went to Trappers looted ML and now looting Coastal Highway and heading to Desolation Point next. Have to say that I seem to follow the same looting pattern with the eventual destination the forge on the Riken. I know other Interloper players follow a different pattern so let's here yours.... So mine is Starting Region(Forlorn Muskeg, Timberwolf Mountain , Pleasant Valley) --> Mystery Lake --> Coastal Highway --> Desolation Point Hushed River Valley and Desolation Point starts for me always end up badly as I either die on the way to Coastal Highway or after a short while there , or I die on Hushed River Valley via cave wolf or hypothermia.
  6. Heh they need to add wolf pants / mitts and hats to use up all those hides
  7. I always think to myself yeah I've pretty much done playing The Long Dark then Hinterland does another update and I'm back playing. Sure some little things to iron out but overall game is still very playable but always adding more things to make you rethink how you play the game. Some things you think are huge hurdles and then the gamer in you thinks of ways to adapt to the change.
  8. Great job looks like you are starting to get the hang of it. You are kind of at the cusp at that point in the game where you are just starting on the major crafting / forging always that huge hurdle of getting enough food to get by usually makes or breaks your run.
  9. I generally like to harvest carcasses using the hacksaw usually by a fire. I usually will harvest in 0.5 kg intervals cooking and harvesting at the same time. This reduces smell and also the game sometimes triggers a weather change if you try to harvest everything at once (likely due to time elapsed) I never quarter in Interloper as I'm afraid the weather will suddenly change and I will get hypothermia.
  10. Not sure it needs redoing so much as maybe some tweaks to make it useful for interloper players. I would suggest lots of shell casings around all the maps , a guaranteed pistol at one of the common starting maps in interloper at the same amount of instances as say the heavy hammer. So the interloper player has an option to visit the region and perhaps leave with enough ammo to get by for a while. A few marine flairs here and there. Watching you play on Stalker the area is viable , not sure the respawn rate of the timber wolves but you could live on wolf meat and just keep making bullets from your casings until powder / lead run out.
  11. Good job on the timber wolves , like that little pile you made
  12. Don't like Hunting Lodge that much due to usual wolf spawns at the pond out front making the safest escape route down the rope climb in behind. I guess if you kill the bear you can stay safely in its cave.
  13. So as a "retirement home" for lopers would assume that I had a 500 day run going and perhaps level 5 archery etc. So Camp Office is the likely choice since there is nearby fishing as an alternate food source. BUT in terms of wolf safety going to give a nod to the good ol Carter Hydro Dam and it's fenced in yard. There is a rock ledge on which can be used to deal with the usual wolf spawn by the trailers in safety . Quick access to the Ravine so Birch bark tea and the mentioned deer spawns along with rabbits. Also not far from Bear Creek Campground which can serve as a stop over heading the fish camp to restock on lamp oil if needed.
  14. Playing an interloper run on Coastal Highway things are going pretty good except after shooting a deer on the ice I noticed that the corpses are sinking into the ice. I starting cooking one and the next morning got up to finish and seen I was unable to harvest the gut due the corpse being under the ice. Another deer than ran off after being hit by an arrow I was able to locate the body by the crows but unable to harvest anything off the carcass.
  15. One point on the bearskin bedroll is if you are unfortunate enough to be carrying and get attacked by a wolf sometimes the bedroll takes a lot of damage. Leaving you with a warmth bonus not much better than a regular bedroll but weighing 5kg.
  16. Good post I generally play Interloper now so likely not go there until I get a pistol in one of my runs.
  17. I would have to say the wolves are much tougher in this update from what I've seen so far. Hard to get a bead on them when you want to shoot them with arrow . They move too much and scurry away when you pull a weapon.
  18. Ya I made the journey on a Pilgrim run starting at Bleak Inlet then went through Forlorn to Mystery Lake took the rope from above the Camp Office by the rabbit cave and the one near the cave by the lake and then to the ravine and eventually back to Bleak Inlet. It's a doable journey no doubt BUT not so great on Interloper I'm thinking as not being able to pack that extra 5kg of food might be a huge downside.
  19. I guess if you found rifle rounds in interloper they could be harvested for the gunpowder perhaps ????
  20. So have you just tried luring the wolf and not aimed a stone to confirm an attack is imminent. Had a wolf come to get me by a fire on my interloper run and stopped right near the fire growling but I was stood up to shoot in the face with my bow and in turned tail and ran. Thinking the wolf is waiting for the fire to go out before it makes it's move.
  21. Wow that is a game changer for the new region for sure. Awesome stuff
  22. Thanks I'm blind as a bat LOL
  23. Ok I'm at the cannery and I would like to make bullets using lead and when I click the workbench it says it requires an active fire. So is bullets something I make at the forge or what am I missing here????
  24. So there is no pistol in Interloper I take it so need to visit the milling machine then??
