  1. My thoughts on the travois are simple it is awesome and the reason is simple much better packing your meat back to base. My long run interloper survivor just returned back to camp office and used up my deer hides to patch my clothes after being in ZOC anyway the long story short 3 deer spawn in the meadow near the office drove 2 of them into a wolf so got 2 double kills and then shot the last one. So 3 deer and 2 wolves and then my snares were still there so packed also some rabbits back to my doorstep. Have so much food I could go 40 days almost now when you count the big pile of meat already there.
  2. Tonight I finished the Buried Echoes Tale and sitting in the transition cave to Forsaken Airfield. I really am weighed down with loot so my thought is to skirt along the outside here and make my way to railroad station on Transfer Pass from there I am going to dump a bunch of this stuff as this region has a wealth of items. I could only imagine if they would let you spawn here at the start of the run you would be sitting pretty save for a heavy hammer. I will then just make my way home to Camp Office and this survivor has yet to visit BlackRock so I'm well geared for that considering all the marine flare gas mask and cartridges etc. We'll see maybe start a new run though.....
  3. I'm a little ways into the tale and have fared ok so far due to level 5 archery plus 20 arrows in my pack. I've been picking the wolves off from a crouched position to avoid agroing them. In general it hasn't been too bad except food is still the issue. After using up my bear meat I made it to the failed mine just near the idle camp. Dropped a deer there which was ok. Got the boots in the foremen's office along with the bolt cutters but the boots were ruined unfortunately. I want to finish up the tail right away but may have to return to my cave to restock my backpack with bear meat. Just don't want to waste any of my cannisters though.
  4. I have plenty of bear meat just didn't want to enter the mine area all stinky but I think I will pack the meat with me to the side entrance and that should be good then I will avoid attracting those poisoned wolves. The other issue is being encumbered(picking up excessive coal) is not the best when traveling through the areas with the fumes. I can't move as quickly and subsequently use more canisters.
  5. Well I'm 10 days on this region and went for my exploration of the mine , made the mistake of not bringing some food with me as I did find enough food to keep my well fed but lost it after coming out of the mine and taking the long walk around the pit to the trailer. I still have a lot of looting to do in that area but the food situation was poor and I wanted to save my canisters for completing the tale. So I am going to stay here a bit longer as I need to go explore the rest of the out buildings and the idle camp area. Thinking my next foray into the mine will start from either the pit itself or from the cave system that comes out near my camp at Smokers Cave. Have not found the boots so my deerskin boots have taken some damage in the poison areas.
  6. I have taken my main run interloper survivor to the ZOC and so far I've been on this map a week without visiting the main mine buildings. I started from the transition cave on Forsaken Airfield. One of my mistakes was not bringing enough food as I didn't want to stink crossing the long expanse from the hangar. So when I passed through the caves it was nightfall and I was pretty hungry. So I thought I would press on and found a nice deer to drop and refuel then a blizzard forced me back towards the transition cave but I thought mistakenly I was safe from the wind in that tunnel cave under the waterfall attempted to sleep and had my fire blow out. Needless to say I managed to drag my sorry self back to the transition cave for another day. Then the weather finally broke and I managed to make my way along the outside to smokers cave. I thought a great place to make a base and I was settling in when mr bear started rambling my way. Finding a safe ledge I shot the bear and it disappeared over the hill. So I went back to the cave slept out the night. The next day 2 poisoned wolves spawned by my door step so I used stealth to eliminate them. Noticed that a poisoned wolf would take an arrow in the torso and run a little ways before limping back to it's home. So shot the one wolf with two arrows to kill it. Then I was able to find the dead bear and get all the meat , guts and hide from it but too far to carry at first. After a visit down the mine not far from the cave I managed to sled all that meat back to the cave so I am set up with a decent base I have all my loot from the mine up to the planks(which I broke down). Now I must get my wits and make my way down to the trailer and then to the mine itself get the gas mask and such and finish up the mission. I'm playing very cautious so after exploring everything beforehand on Pilgrem I have a good idea where I all have to go. Just hope I don't make any foolish mistakes.
  7. Finished Signal Void now going to take my 700 day run Interloper into the death trap that is the Zone Of Contamination , not sure if I should do a couple practice rounds in the region just to get a feel for the wolves LOL don't want to lose this run
  8. Well I managed to get the battery to Milton and now am on the way back to Forsaken Airfield just got to get by survivors clothes all patched up and cook some fish to make lamp oil then it's off to finish Signal Void then it's to Zone Of Contamination.....
  9. Heh it will be annoying but I have a pretty good trail of food along the way as I will head to Winding River then stop at the dam refuel on deer meat from the ravine then trappers then from there into Milton through the cave but yes the climbing will be a chore lol
  10. I took your advice Shadox and after finding the bunker on Bleak Inlet made for PV then Keepers Pass where I hit the jackpot and found 2 batteries dragged them back on the new sled and fixed the one on Pleasant Valley and waiting for an another aurorae to go search for the bunker. Then I will have to carry the battery and sled through the winding river transition to Mystery Lake then lug the thing to Mountain Town should be an adventure
  11. After searching through all the cars on Bleak Inlet and the Cannery I went back to Forlorn Muskeg and finished repairing the tower there. Anyway after completing that it unlocked a new task. So I thought well I didn't want to hang around with no food so I decided I would go fix the tower on Milton so I went all the way there and once again searched all the cars without success just have to check the farm. My question does the game want you to complete the previous task before spawning the batteries and I am running all over the countryside for nothing LOL
  12. Thanks for the replies just finished looting Bleak Inlet (no battery yet) so I think I need to go to The Point of Disagreement and also check the car heading to Blackrock. It's ok though found lots of good loot I left on these maps on previous stays. This run was started after the save wipe last year but has plenty of fuses and wires just unlucky on the batteries so far. Thought for sure the cannery would have one but nothing.....
  13. Finally decided to take my long run Interloper to play the Signal Void mission. So managed to repair the Forsaken Airfield tower to start off then managed to almost get the Forlorn one fixed but just need one wire and a couple scrap metal. So I went back to my base at Camp Office and decided I would go to the Hydra Dam then head to Signal Hill on PV. Managed to get everything done except the battery. So now I have searched the entire Coastal Highway and PV with no luck. Likely going to check Desolation Point next. Just wondering if I'm the only Interloper running around looking for a battery.
  14. Ok I gave this challenge a try spawning on Coastal Highway with Interloper settings. It is brutal as you are fully dependent on 2 factors --> Getting matches or flare etc so you are not going to survive TLD without water and moving about beach combing you need hydration and you are dependent on getting lucky so you can build a fire. If you can a long enough fire going you might get lucky to boil a couple liters of water but without that you are dead in no time. Not falling through the ice. Getting hypothermia drains your energy then you need to stay warm for 24 hours pretty tough to do when starving and dehydrated already So surviving long term on beachcombing is likely impossible with Interloper settings as loot is not as good and with a lack of matches..... tldss.mp4
  15. Maybe I'm cheesy but I use crouch a lot on interloper simply to avoid wolves. If I know I'm entering anywhere with a likely wolf patrol I crouch and crawl if I know I'm getting too close to them. It's served me well in early game interloper using stones to send them on a path away. I know I take cold damage but I trade that for not losing my run.
  16. Almost got wolfed by forgetting 4 ruined fish bait in my inventory. Got up in the morning opened the door at the fish camp on Coastal with a wolf heading straight for me. No scent indication either.
  17. I've been seeing burdock plant in my travels in all regions so far
  18. Seeing them fairly often as I was running all over Great Bear with my charcoal. Marsh Ridge on Forlorn Muskeg I killed 4 of them and made myself a batch of broth. Then I seen them at the Camp Office and the Overlook cave on Mystery Lake. Hushed River they were by the Peak Cave. Mountain Town I seen them near the transition cave going to Hushed River. Also seen them by the Broken Railroad transition from Forlorn up on the hill.
  19. I think it had to do with icons I didn't have a Spence Farmhouse Icon so I went back there and mapped it again but still no icon.
  20. My main run completed mapping everything and yet no achievement ???? Do I need to map Blackrock to get the achievement???
  21. Managed to kill Fluffy and find the heavy hammer in the work shop so now at least I can break down pallets. Also noticed a lack of stones and feathers as well. Must be some kind of a glitch.
  22. It's been a long time since I've been to ol Bleak Inlet and I took my long time survivor there for a looting / mapping adventure and I couldn't get over how few sticks or branches there were by the Washed Up Trailers on the hill. Shot the moose there and could barely scrounge up enough reclaimed wood to cook even a third of it. Made the mistake of not bringing my hatchet to break down palettes.
  23. Most peaceful?.... Going with Fishing Camp at Coastal Highway, once the bear is dispatched one has to only worry about the occasional wolf spawn . But once you have your level 5 archery it's just more meat to cook while you fish.
  24. So I'm butchering the bear near Crystal Lake by the bear cave and along comes a wolf chasing a deer right by where I'm working so I do the easy thing while he is chomping on the deer I creep up behind him and kill him. There is so much bear meat so I left the deer and wolf just there. The next day I skip the task and go loot the cargo boxes by the wing then sleep in the Forest Cave. On the way back I hear this growling but don't see any wolf like a ghost. Freaked out I go to the bear cave and wait for it. But the wolf never appears then this....... tldBUG.mp4
  25. Well my interloper run is still going at day 340. One of the things I did wrong was not bringing a heavy hammer to Forsaken Airfield and with the new update I needed to get off the map and return to Broken Railroad. On the way back I picked acorns by the Junkers Trailer before picking them all on the way back through the Railway Pass transition region. I'm currently back at the maintenance shop. The plan is to go to Ash Canyon to get the technical backpack and try to visit and loot all the other regions before making the journey back to Forsaken Airfield. I made all the acorns into the ground coffee. I'm not sure there is a thought to just play some of the tales just to change it up as well.
