Failed hunt

Saw that view just the other day. Got completely pwned by Mr. Moose.

Situation was heavy fog in the area around the fishing hut in AC. Damned moose kept finding me as I attempted to crawl away. Somehow I didn't die.

Region: Forlorn Muskeg

Area: Poacher's Camp

The revolver may not be a long-range weapon, but… This is a one-shot bear kill, with the revolver, at a distance I would be more comfortable shooting with a rifle (if I had one). I was crouching behind the wagons, saw the bear come down from that little hill, and shot. To my amazement, the bear moaned and fell down right away on the spot (Fig.1). Maybe I was lucky and the RNG gods were (for once) benevolent. In Fig. 2 you can see where I was posted. The subsequent bearbecue at Poacher's Camp was a success. :D

Fig. 1 - No more than a small dark stain in the distance.

Boom!!!

i missed....

I'm very sorry. If it's any consolation, I once shot a moose eleven times at that distance and the only thing I managed was to scare it into despawning (because I never saw it in the same spot afterwards). My survivor then kept having this recurring dream of satchels running away from him…

Speaking of bears, look where this fool went to die. Now I have to get its meat before it falls down… ;)

(Region: Ash Canyon. Area: the cliff near Foreman's Retreat)

At least it was a fat one: almost 40 kilos' worth of meat.

Oh yeah. Heh, coincidentally enough my moose rib guy is down in the valley below you. I have max cold and max blizzard set so good weather down there is rare. Got this just a few short moments ago, though. Nice view of the rope bridges.

Sharing screenshots?
*hmmm*
I'll start with a few wallpaper-worthy ones.

There wil b e few to almost no aurora related screenshots from my end, as *everyone* seem to take those. There  might be an exception every now and then if the shot in question is something I find particularly share-worthy.

Instead I aim for the other less common ones I find being worthy of a wallpaper. Enjoy.

I like that one too. I tried to get one even closer, but the deer bounced off. Camera-shy critters.
Hopefully I'll get one with a moose on similar pose. That one might take a few bandages though.

Well I've heard the expression 'dying for your art' but I don't think you're actually supposed  to! Lol😁
