stratvox
I have to say I'm really enjoying the vintage filter... being old enough to remember the old electrohome console colour tvs that were super common in Ontario from the seventies it really hits it. This first one is from the very beginning of my run, before I figured out how to turn on the filters. Good place to start. A couple of days in. It was very dangerous around the gas station with wolves and bears interacting, pushing the wolves off into weird places. Finally made it to Jackrabbit the long way around; from the shore to Misanthrope's to the cottages to Townsite, along the top hitting the lookout, the two houses above the fishing village, and down into the village, then along the chain of islands to Jackrabbits. A blizzard kicked up shortly after this shot. I find the plaid shirt really pops with the filter on. The little red fringe on the horizon where the contrast is high next to the sun is just <chef's kiss> it's so perfect for those old TVs. piddy3825
1 hour ago, dahemac said: Hey little guy. Whatcha doin down here? Looks like fresh rabbit is for dinner!! The rabbit must be cut into serving pieces. Soak the pieces into cold water for about ten minutes. Pour a little fish oil in a large pot and place it on medium heat. Remove the rabbit from the water and put it into the pan without draining it. . Cook the rabbit on medium flame, reduce the water and brown each piece of rabbit, turning from time to time. Add a bit of water to finish the cooking if needed. When golden brown, pour in a little maple syrup. The rabbit is ready. Serve with crunchy ketchup crisps. 1

I have so much moose and bear, and rabbits are so few in calories by weight, that I only take them for pelts in snares. It is so not-worth-it to cook the rabbit that I have been leaving the meat out for scaredy wolf at the Cannery.

ajb1978
So I arrived at Timberwolf Mountain on my quest for syrup and chips, and needed to get some baseline supplies in order. To that end, I sniped a bear clear across the lake from the doorway of the Mountaineer's Hut. He came charging, so I shut the door and hunkered down to wait him out. I could hear him running around outside, and when I turned to my right, there was this bear's head inches from my own, clipping through the wall. So...I shot him directly in the face, point blank. That shot killed him, but his head was still accessible from within the hut. I lit a fire, and was able to leisurely carve the bear up from the warmth and safety of the hut, cooking at the same time.

atomic
Wolf to the left, bear to the right... tough decision for a regular pilgrim player in Winter's Embrace... I can't believe I'm still outside, -60°C, almost no vision at all... I know at the end of this power cable there is a shelter.
