I agree completely, the only issue I have is that with a bow I need to be close enough that, once hit, the bear will immediately (and with confounding speed) charge at me and maul without (seemingly) any possibility to avoid it...
Otherwise, for the stats: 548 days / 57 bears / 14 moose.
I hear you, it's the same for me. I had a REALLY hard time with Wintermute ep2 for that reason.
I tried to bear / moose hunt with a bow at some point but would ALWAYS get mauled / trampled after the first arrow. Not sure how it's done outside of being in an unattainable spot that would also be at close enough range, which can only be a tiny fraction of the opportunities you get...
That's what I was thinking, but I've never got attacked by a wolf in pilgrim, no matter what I do.
(Strangely, I managed to play for a year without getting attacked by a bear, no matter what I did, and it changed recently, with me getting mauled a bunch...)
Do you guys think it is possible to finish this challenge without going to CH through the Ravine at all (or similarly, anything using the CH/Ravine connection)?
Died once trying to cross the ravine bridge and never went back since. That said, I don't recall anything like this in the mine... I managed to complete the tale, is it possible I missed it?
1100 hours in and...
Never show an arrow (will change soon)
Never threw a stone
Never even touched the ballistic vest
Never made a stone cache
Never explored the "aurora mine" in CH (same reason as listed above)
And yeah, never played anything but Pilgrim.
Mixed feelings as well as far as I'm concerned. More questions than answers every time; I felt a bit like I did when I was watching Lost, which can't be a good thing.... but then again it was fun to explore and find the stuff. I DID prefer Signal Void in that the sequence of events and the progress were clear and linear. Here I found myself doing things in an awkward order, having to go back places I thought I was done with, etc.
Since I died in the mine a couple of times, I had to redo SV in order to get back and resume BE. That was a major source of frustration, and I really think something should be done in order to avoid that.... like only having to pick up the radio receptor if you already have badges from the previous tales, or something like that.
