  1. wolves bite, Black rock prisoners bite and I bite.
  2. You youngin's back in my day we had only had stalker. or at least the equivalent. I have try to do faithful cartographer in stalker, but every time I all most make it I get attacked by four or so wolves and die.
  3. I think it adds some intensity when you don’t know exactly how long your fire will last. The best parts of the long dark are the things you don’t know rather then what you do. Plus you don’t how long your fire will last in real life, just a idea.
  4. Probably not but I moved around a lot, so maybe.
  5. If you break down enough shoe laces you should get a climbing rope.
  6. Remember when hinterland was asking for cos players. Maybe it wasn't really for a television show, but was really to trick someone to believe that the long dark is reality.
  7. It would be even better in wintermute. Watch out for Manthis.
  8. and put it out in the snow. Make sure to go climb in the stove when your forging. If you want I can give you the lacerations.

If there is ever going to be a mythological creature in the long dark these would be it. They fit every thing in the setting, there humans driven by the cold and starvation to madness and cannibalism. Just imagine the horrific scenes of men driven mad by the way there world has been changed, I think this would make a great story element in fact I would wager that hinterland has plans to incorporate them or something similar in to wintermute. @Raphael van LieropI see your online (or was when I started writing) I am sure you have heard stories of these fallen men, living in Canada and all. tell Is my gambit a worthy one.
  10. Trying to climb through the Ravin ravine. was going down a hill when suddenly died. The game said I fell from a high place but i didn't fall at all.
  11. you would need to break down several tin cans to get the apparent value of "scrape metal". I like the idea there just isn't currently the ground work for breaking down multiple items at once.
  12. I am going to play it all day sitting out in the snow to get the full effect. Luckily it happens to come out on week I'm not on duty.
  13. The high up in difficulty you go the game requires you to get more creative to find supplies. There matches and cans of food in the small open top creates. there will never be any thing directly in the bigger closed creates. How ever there are supplies behind them at the summit, the Spence homestead, carter, the whale processing plant and the maintenance yard to name a few. 📦
  14. Probably not. At least I hope not, that would be a really out of place story ark, but hay you never know. She doesn't seem like it but it is possible that she is the one Jeremiah is trying to contact during episode two, but I doubt it since he knew that you are trying to get to pleasant valley and was about to leave on his own journey just before you leave for the dame. Also he talks about the person more of as a comrade then a lover.
  15. I think in the long game it better the more regions you have in general. Plus hushed river valley has the late game bonus of years worth of saplings even in interloper.
  16. Most of the factors in the original are factors that change with the difficulty setting. With the new aiming changes, my only big complaint is how close you can get to dear. You can practically touch them if your good enough.
  17. Let me be the first to welcome to the secret syndicate of international survivors. Also known as the ssis. The long dark is just our recruitment methods.
  18. If we are talking about the one by above the many falls vista I usually call him "that dame bear that keeps me from my supper." see haven't gone to hushed river valley (or HRV as the as all the kids are saying these days) except for single region challenges and I wall ways seem to die because that bear is in the way of my food.
  19. I hear by dub the wolf right at the start of drive to pleasant valley farmstead Ronald. I would like to name just because he once manged to get inside the porch area with the door closed. I had droped some meat right out side and was waiting for a wolf to come by so I could ambush them. Well he had followed me all the way and as soon as he got to the meat he stretched out through the window to struggle with me, after got him off he ended up on the roof somehow? I wish i would have got a video but I needed to treat my self and didn´t have any antiseptics so I had to go find some lichen. In other words it wasn´t on my mind at the time.
  20. fluffy died in side the dame as seen at the end of episode two. We need to find a name for the unnamed pond bear. The one that goes invisible. Like the unnamed bear.
  21. When they first re-costumed the rifle I thought it was a Browning Blk do to the fact that it looks almost identical and is a bear rifle, but quickly realized that it's front-lock. The Mauser 98 is similar in function, appearance, weight (the rifle weighing 4kg and the Mauser 3.8 unloaded) but it felt all-round longer. That is when I found this. Which clearly shows the Lee Enfield Mk 2. I would say he previous version was the mk one. I am not sure about the most recent one though.
  22. It is a nice trick, but after many years of playing games and never adjusting the gamma I am quit good at finding my way through dark rooms.
  23. I heading down to Sydney in a few months maybe i'll look you up.
  24. I would love a new forge in pleasant valley for the sake of my current save. I have been living at the mountaineering hut for the past hundred days and have gradually lost arrow heads to the wolves at crystal lake. My current plan is to go slowly through pleasant on my to the coast to stay there for as long as I can and I would rather take a little extra time in pleasant valley forging arrows then go all the way to desolation point. Having to go there would mess up my plan of going there after I have done as much fishing as possible at coastal highway. I want to avoid going to desolation point first so i don't have to carry around the heavy hunting supplies.
  25. If you are good enough with stones it is worth while in any game mode to pick one up just before going into a rabbit grove, kill one and keep going on journey. Just as long as you aren't worried about the scent attracting wildlife.
