Wow, some very close calls! Sounds like you had the right idea crawling up on a rock before shooting the bear. I try to position myself so that if he does charge, there is a ledge or very steep angle on the rock I can drop down to where he can't path to. This is my standard approach, always, when hunting bear.

True, but we will lose the warmth of a nearby stove and the walls of the fishing hut so I'm guessing we will have to be MUCH more cautious while fishing out on the open ice (this is assuming we still cannot make fires on the ice). I see it almost as, "I'm starving to death and if I don't eat something SOON, I will die. Sushi!!" I'm still going to try it, but for my serious fishing trips, I'll be sticking to the huts.

Let's wait to see what they offer before we draw any conclusions If they're anything like some of their other Grouse cousins, you could hit them with a rock! We don't have a shotgun (currently) so it will be interesting on how they will be hunted. This is a concern which I have brought up before also. Admin essentially said that the new regions (when they come) will provide an opportunity to get these items. In the last update, there were some new loose items laying about but I had to start a new game to find the hockey jersey for example. In my experience, most are found in containers and once they're looted, that's it. One drawback to having incremental updates vs one large one - if you really want to take advantage of ALL the loot the update offers, you need to start a new game. I'm with all the previous posts in the excitement and anticipation!!

I love sardines! Forked right out of the tin. Add a can to a salad. Although, I need to eat them when my wife isn't around due to the smell. I always carry a supply of them in our side-by-side for emergencies.

I like the idea of the "Aurora Alarm Clock" but not so much another item for energy. I feel like there are plenty as is, and any more/more powerful ones may upset game balance.

Until I hit level 5 Archery, I use rifle. Once I hit level 5 Archery, bow for everything but moose.

I also sincerely hope they don't let the "hiccups" and negative feedback dissuade them from releasing more DLC (whatever flavor that may take). Regarding "long release format", I'd be okay with maybe not too long! I'm so excited when new content comes out, I will usually take the day off work, and therefore, get through the content pretty quickly.

My conclusion is that the viewing difference between 4K and QHD on a 16-17" laptop monitor would be insignificant compared to the cost and other factors. Hey, it doesn't really matter. You enjoy the game the way you want. I sometimes wish I could "memory wipe" my knowledge of the maps! Just like when HL introduces a new region - such excitement!!
