  1. I'm guessing that 2nd "path" (which is much smaller and has no railway) may lead to the Mountain Pass region. Those 2 regions would seem awfully close together.

  4. Okay, we know from the Nov dev diary, ZC will be where Langston Mine is. This sign points towards Immutable Hesitation which is currently blocked by rubble. What do you think HL will do to give us access to this new area? They could either clear the roadway or the railroad track. My guess would be the RR track - the collapse doesn't seem as bad as the road.

  10. The calcium carbide type seems to have been really popular. I had trouble finding the "wick-kerosene" type. The picture above really looks like the CC type but the site said it was kerosene... If HL did introduce the CC type, they would also need to add the Calcium Carbide as an item.
  11. That's a great idea! Perhaps one like this, which would use our lamp oil. A little outdated but useful.

  13. Perhaps. I'm thinking of the gas as the same mechanic currently in BR Abandoned Mine, which is why we will need to find the respirator asap to explore. There may be pockets of fresh air that we need to sprint to between the gas clouds if we don't have the respirator. Re: toxic pools - sounds like that will be just really hard (condition loss) on our footwear. What if we have no shoes on? Player condition loss?
  14. Obtained Obtained by being bitten by a poisoned wolf in the ZC. 100% chance when bitten? I'm guessing not, sort of like torn clothes. Perhaps higher clothing protection rating will reduce the chance of poisoning? Although not specifically mentioned, could we also become poisoned by eating Poisoned Wolf Meat? Effects of Poisoning I'm guessing effects will be similar to Food Poisoning (Condition loss over time, perhaps without the fatigue) but the player CAN die from this. Cures Once poisoned, likely cures will be antibiotics and reishi tea. Perhaps some recovery time needed as well? Thoughts?
  15. The most likely scenario, I think, is the introduction of pine needle and/or spruce needle tea. Pine needle tea is how the Iroquois are credited with reversing scurvy in the crews of the early explorers to North America. They may also introduce bottles of vitamins. As you stated, sounds like there are plenty of options (even for long runs) to prevent scurvy. Another item may not be necessary.

I'm guessing: Any canned fruits Rosehips Potatoes, Carrots Sardines Energy Drink Other? The cure appears to be just consuming vitamin C. I'm guessing we will need to eat/drink something with VC then wait or rest a number of hours - similar to other afflictions What will be the in-game effects of the affliction? I'm guessing progressive health loss as well as reduced health recovery Fatigue Any other thoughts?
  18. It's my understanding (and aged recollection) that you can find the mound of snow any time, but you can't uncover it unless the aurora is active. I believe the radio just guides you there - could be wrong.
  19. It's great to see some fresh "buzz" going on here! It really is nice to sense everyone's excitement and anticipation for Part 4. Thank you for the dev update. My initial thoughts: I'm hoping the new gear/items will mostly be free-placed so us long-run players will have the same opportunities to find the items. As some others have expressed, I'm somewhat skeptical about the direction of the new zone. Call me old-fashioned, but my favorite are still the traditional TLD zones. I'm certainly going to give ZC it's fair shake, but I am seeing it as a BR (Blackrock) type of zone in which I loot it and don't return. Scurvy - just hope there is a renewable resource to deal with this. Time to go make some "breakout session" posts.
  20. I believe this is one of those settings, which due to randomness and the variability of weather, would be very difficult for us users to figure out.
