  1. Lol, told ya. I'm in the process of establishing an outpost in Ash Canyon to map and look for more.
  2. Yes you are probably right... But I have heard of crazy stuff. Ex: a trucking company was sued after being involved in a wreck where a passenger vehicle lost control on slick roads crossed the median and hit the truck. One of the passengers died I believe and others severely injured. Trucking company and driver had not violated any rules/laws. The Trucking company lost to the tune of $90 MILLION!!!
  3. I understand that it can be somewhat frustrating... But alot of this seems blown out of proportion. And really its there to protect HL. In this day in age when many folks first response to being harmed by a product is to bring litigation against that products creator I don't blame HL for putting it there or making it non skippable. All it would take is 1 lawsuit and HL could no longer exist... I'm pretty sure none of us want that.
  4. Lol... I really have to chuckle at this one... Have things really gotten to the point that folks dont have enough patience to wait a couple handfuls of seconds for entertainment??? Just my 2 cents.
  5. I used to game on PC MANY years ago... But anymore I prefer to game on console. Definetally prefer Xbox over any of its competitors. I get the preference of discs... But aftet we started having children I very rapidly converted to digital. Only took 2 or 3 of my favorite game discs getting destroyed. Plus I like the easy of being able to move from one console to another and still be able to play MY game without having to carry the disc along. Alot of the games we have are owned by one person but 2 of us play simulatiously... So digital makes sense, at least on Xbox.
  6. Id imagine from HL perspective thus may be one of those "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." kind of things.
  7. Thats what I started on when TLD first came out to Xbox... Gave it to our daughter when we upgraded to the Series X... Then my mother-in-law bought us a Series S so we could all play minecraft together online.
  8. What console you play on? I and my mother-in-law both play on Xbox Series X and my wife plays on Xbox Series S.
  9. I would support being able to craft an upgrade to the technical pack that would add up to 2 additional slots. Maybe only craftable after sewing is at level 3 or higher.
  10. I was thinking that the technical backpack should add an additional 2 accessory slots for gear and cargo items (such as the satchel and rifle scabbard). It makes sense to me... Good hiking packs are designed to have other gear items attached to them. This would free up the 2 slots we currently have for clothing items. But one would only get these 2 extra slots after finding the technical pack.

  13. So I'm really enjoying the new fishing mechanics, I'm finding that it really opens up the number of possible base locations. I'm currently camped out in the lake cave on Monolith Lake in HRV. I run a 2 tip-up string of fishing holes, hunt ptarmigan and rabbits with FHAs. It also has the moose spawn on the lake. Ive camped out here in the past, but I findbit more enjoyable now as I dont have to search so far from the cave to find enough food to survive long term. As fate would have it, the ability to fish here likely saved my life... I arrived to the cave just after dark and inadvertently disturbed the moose and got my ass stomped. So its been a saving grace to be able to get food literally on my door step. This has officially become my longest lasting run since I started playing TLD when it released on Xbox. I'm currently at about 120 days on vanilla Stalker. Ive also completed SV for the first time on this run. Anyone else found some new places to set up camp long term that the new fishing mechanic makes more survivable than previously?
  14. How about a few very simple recipes that are 100% renewable... My idea... Salt is a natural mineral. Make rock salt naturally spawn in caves and mines similar to coal but in far less quantities, and maybe only in a couple caves or mines. Use rock salt, water and ptarmigan to create broth. Then this broth can be used to create a very basic meat soup... By combining broth and meat. Doesnt need to give a big buff aside from the warming benefit when eaten hot. This would add rabbit soup, venison soup, moose soup, and potentially bear and/or wolf soup. Could even optionally add diced cattails to the meat soup to round out the recipe, but this would then make it non renewable. Edit: instead of diced cattails one could add in prepared birch bark... Walla!!! 100% renewable, and possibly give a very minor buff of condition restore.
  15. I was thinking that the time needed to pluck all the down should be about 1 hour by hand and double that with a knife. Cause really thats what you are doing is plucking the down... Not peeling the whole skin.
  16. I have been using FHA with survival bow and basic (level 1) archery skill and have been able to pick off the entire flock one at a time if I'm careful not to get too close.
  17. I like both of these suggestions for hatchet variants. I think they would both fit very well within the balance of the game.
  18. It may not actually freeze faster... But I can tell you this: As a person that deals with frozen piped in my home nearly every winter, I can attest with full sincerity that it is ALWAYS the hot water pipe that freezes first. Both hot and cold water lines in my home are identical and in size amd material. And where both lines got to the same sink or shower, they are about 4 inches apart and only a few inches different in length. But the hot water pipe is always the one that freezes first. Hot water line will be frozen enough to completely stop flow, cold water flow however is barely reduced at all. So there is something that does cause this phenomenon to occur where hot water freezes faster... But why or how is completely a mystery to me.
  19. So my question is... Once you kill a pack of T-wolves are they dead FOREVER??? As in they never respawn again? Or do they respawn again at a later time like rugular wolves?
  20. The greatest accomplishments throughout history have been the works of meer average men. You always say that you are indebted to us players. However, I truly feel us players are indebted to you and your team.
  21. My speculation... The never ending winter that will mute life as we know it.
  22. Why do you think to-go coffee cups say "Caution: Hot" on them??? Because some lady went through the McDonald's drive up and got a cup of coffee, which she then somehow spilled on herself while driving. She than sued the pants off of McDonald's and won! This was all in the 90s if I remember correctly... But I do remember how everyone thought it was ridiculous that she sued... And even more ridiculous that she won.
  23. Anyone noticed an improvement in the aiming?
