  1. So I started a stalker run this past weekend in TWM. Yesterday after the 2.26 patch dropped I was finally able to go on a bear hunt. I jad stuck an arrow into a bear from hiding and tracked him until he quit running scared. I then proceeded to get him to follow me. My plan was to lead him close to the Mountaineers Hut (my base of operations in TWM) so he would hopefully die near it. As he came with his sensorys range of the hut and completely lost interest in following me. Instead he made a bee-line for the hut, walked up the front path, stole one of the 3 raw fish from the previous day's fishing trip, and ran away scared to die during the night. The fish were laying on the ground a few feet down the front path from the hut. The fish had been caught and left there the day before I hunted my bear. So is wildlife stealing meat and fish stored outside finally a thing? If so... I LOVE IT. If there is anyone that can confirm that they have experienced similar events? Or maybe do some testing??? (Looking at you @hozz1235)
  2. I would say a temperature drop while you were aleeping is what got you... And perfectly realistic. IRL I heat my home with a wood burning stove, very similar to the one in Trappers Homestead. I keep the main room with the stove in my house around 75° to 85° F during the winter. I have forgotten to stoke the fire a few times before going to bed in the past... And woke up the next morning to inside temperatures in the 10° to 25° F range and completely frozen pipes... Thats in a modern very well insulated house. If one was to go to sleep with temperatures just above freezing it wouldnt be very difficult for temos to drop WELL below 0° F through the night... Especially in a cave, old cabin, or summer camping shack.
  3. Cats can get down from trees just fine... It's only that people think they can't, and seem to think they need to help the "poor kitty." You leave a cat up a tree alone and it will come down just fine when it wants to... Usually after dark.
  4. The only suggestion inbthis thread that I might actually agree with would be cross country skis and/or Snow shoes... With a heavy preference to snow shoes personally.
  5. I'm goimg to guess when they get a stable hotfix that doesnt introduce yet more bugs... In my opinion, id rather wait for a better patch than keep getting more bugs to replace thise that a patch fixes.
  6. Wish you could knock them over with an arrow or bullet... Would be some fun target practice.
  7. They will run off... Once you have them in your bright light you have to charge them, keeping your light on them. After a second or 2 at petting distance they run away. Only way I made it through signal void.
  8. Hockey sticks and pucks... Would be great fun to try highsticking pucks into the resident wolves on Mystery Lake.
  9. Ive noticed that wolves ALWAYS soumd like they are right on my heels... Even when they are following from quite some distance behind me.
  10. They were only generated when the game put something in them
  11. Lost and found boxes are a mechanic that was used some years ago when HL was redoing some of the maps. When an item tha the player had interacted with needed to be moved due to a change made to a map (a house was redecorated, or changed by HL) those items were placed into a special box automatically by the game when the changes took place. This was done on all platforms I believe, so players wouldnt lose stuff on thier longer play throughs just because the game was updated. I never used this mechanic as I wasnt playing very heavily at that time.
  12. On console I use the radial ALOT amd findbit very easy to use... But with all the new items being added as of late (can you say bedrolls and cooking utensils???) it could use an update. Also I would eliminate the drop decoy frombthe radial so as to open up another menu slot for items.
  13. Lol, told ya. I'm in the process of establishing an outpost in Ash Canyon to map and look for more.
  14. Yes you are probably right... But I have heard of crazy stuff. Ex: a trucking company was sued after being involved in a wreck where a passenger vehicle lost control on slick roads crossed the median and hit the truck. One of the passengers died I believe and others severely injured. Trucking company and driver had not violated any rules/laws. The Trucking company lost to the tune of $90 MILLION!!!
  15. I understand that it can be somewhat frustrating... But alot of this seems blown out of proportion. And really its there to protect HL. In this day in age when many folks first response to being harmed by a product is to bring litigation against that products creator I don't blame HL for putting it there or making it non skippable. All it would take is 1 lawsuit and HL could no longer exist... I'm pretty sure none of us want that.
  16. Lol... I really have to chuckle at this one... Have things really gotten to the point that folks dont have enough patience to wait a couple handfuls of seconds for entertainment??? Just my 2 cents.
  17. I used to game on PC MANY years ago... But anymore I prefer to game on console. Definetally prefer Xbox over any of its competitors. I get the preference of discs... But aftet we started having children I very rapidly converted to digital. Only took 2 or 3 of my favorite game discs getting destroyed. Plus I like the easy of being able to move from one console to another and still be able to play MY game without having to carry the disc along. Alot of the games we have are owned by one person but 2 of us play simulatiously... So digital makes sense, at least on Xbox.
  18. Id imagine from HL perspective thus may be one of those "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." kind of things.
  19. Thats what I started on when TLD first came out to Xbox... Gave it to our daughter when we upgraded to the Series X... Then my mother-in-law bought us a Series S so we could all play minecraft together online.
  20. What console you play on? I and my mother-in-law both play on Xbox Series X and my wife plays on Xbox Series S.
  21. I would support being able to craft an upgrade to the technical pack that would add up to 2 additional slots. Maybe only craftable after sewing is at level 3 or higher.
  22. I was thinking that the technical backpack should add an additional 2 accessory slots for gear and cargo items (such as the satchel and rifle scabbard). It makes sense to me... Good hiking packs are designed to have other gear items attached to them. This would free up the 2 slots we currently have for clothing items. But one would only get these 2 extra slots after finding the technical pack.
