  1. My question is though, are the found crampons of any use anymore? I know they can be repared but I've traveled with my improvised crampons from BRR to the goldmine in AC and they are still 100%. There also seems to be no difference in the sure footing bonus that the improvised version provides, I hardly have any sprains and I could climb the rope in the Ravine Basin in one go while being 20% fatigued. [EDIT]: oh I just realized the found crampons are 250g lighter, better than nothing I guess.
  2. Jackpot, I just found my 2nd expedition parka, yey 🎉 Now I can ditch my Bearskin Coat and make room for 3.5kg more stuff to carry around with only 2C less warmth bonus, but with +29C it's still plenty enough. I found it in PV's radio control hut, which was the 3rd place I was checking out on that map. All other items I've found in FA, TP, BRR and ML. 5 maps and I have almost completed my set, so yeah, to answer the original question, I like the new loot table. Having said that, I feel a bit let down that crafted stuff is generally inferiour compared to found cloths. One might argue that the bearskin coat gives a bigger temp bonus but it is much heavier than the exp parka and when it comes to pants (ski pants give 2.5C at 1kg, deer skin 2C at 2kg) or boots (both give 2.5C but deersking boots are 0.5kg heavier) or head gear, there is no question what is better. The only exception are the mittens, I think rabbit mittens are still the best in the game(?).
  3. Well, this saved me from starting a new post, asking if the bunkers are missing It's not a big deal though, I have already a hard time keeping myself below 40kg on my current Stalker run and I desperately need the technical backpack to be able to carry 45kg up a rope while well fed. So in a sense, also because bunkers were never a thing on Interloper, I am glad I don't have to go searching for them. I'd been nice though if this would've been communicated properly.
  4. I said it before and I say it again, it's been long overdue they get compensated for all the work they've put in over the last decade. I play the game since Dec 2014 and have spend more than 1000h for 9.99€, only bitcoin has a better return of investment So yes I was more than happy to buy the DLC, hardly any other game has impacted my life in the way TLD has. *Love* is a strong word usually reserved for family and friends, maybe pets, but I truly love TLD 💖
  5. Now I hope you are kidding Seriously, as Mistral has pointed out, Insomnia is nothing serious, even funny in parts, not to mention that glimmer fog gives you electricity during the day without an aurora. You're missing out on 3 unique regions, with more "story" in them than any other region. My favorite story so to speak is a cave with a corpse next to a wolf carcass and some broken arrows lying near by. As someone who has previously died from a wolf attack due to a missed bow shot I can imagine exactly what happend. As to how to deal with the fog itself: There are clues, it's not one second sunny and the other complete fog. Predators are scarce and should you be caught in the fog, you can just outwait it and enjoy some additional mumblings and dialogs from your survivor afterwards.
  6. Yes you need to get to the Forsaken Airfield, then you can choose if you want to start a new run in the old or new territory.
  7. Hmm can't say I notice much difference on my Stalker run, the only rare items in my playthrough are hatchets, wetstones and sewing kits. I've only been to AF, TF, BRR, breezed through FM without picking up anything and have now been in ML to Trapper's, Lookout, Camp Office and looted about half of the fishing huts (one had a real, not improvised hatched, yey). I found two rifles, a pistol, 4 mag glasses, countless bows (they overdid it a bit with the bows I think), lots of ammo, several pots, prybars, hacksaws, 2 knives and much more, but only one storm lantern and one improvised- and one real hatched. Plenty of food though which had me going for 40 days, almost the only meat I ate was a moose for about 15 days and very decent clothing, including expedition parka, two cargo pants (which are being replaced with deer pants), fisherman and cowichan sweater, multiple climbing socks and work boots. As of this writing a bear hide is curring, I already have the moose satchel, made myself some crampons and the only thing missing is the technical backpack and real crampons. I wear the wolfcloak for now but it has truly become useless, weighing twice as much as the expedition parka for the same temperature bonus. All in all I'm having a blast and I'm not really missing anything crucial except for skill books, I haven't found too many of them yet (4 or 5).
  8. Partly because I knew where to go after exploring first in Pilgrim but I've also only been to the edge of the map. I went from the hangar to the two cliff houses and the cave, skipped final approach and then went to BRR because I couldn't find any firearms. I've completely mapped TF though, will this be DLC hub region? I thought AF will be the hub but there are many named deadends in TF which it seems will connect to another region in the future. I plan to come back to AF once I've been to AC, preferably after some more content drops.
  9. I probably haven't spend long enough time there, I left the place after 7 days or so but even with less than ideal cloths I rarely felt cold and didn't experience many blizzards, main obstacle was the fog.
  10. No AF is very easy to survive, probably the easiest of all maps. Think FM minus ice, wolves and bears plus fog. There are some wolves but they are very easy to go around to the extend that they barely matter.
  11. It's been a while since I was playing Stalker but I feel like I am getting fatigued much faster, especially from sprinting, than it used to be. Anyone experienced the same? In Interloper I deliberately sprinted all the time to get as drained as possible when bedtime comes but on my Stalker (and Pilrgrim) run after the update I am completely drained after 4-5 ingame hours of walking and some sprinting. Also, I haven't been there in a long time but have there always be so many blizzards in Broken Railroad? I am camping at the hunting lodge, waiting for some hides to cure and there is almost always a blizzard going on, worse than I ever experienced in PV. 8h blizzard, 2h calm, 8 blizzard again, 4h calm, every single day (around day 20ish).
  12. this is only for Wintermute, as far as I can remember there was never an option to save in Survival Mode and this is how God intended it.
  13. No glitch, IIRC this has always been the case with new regions. You only get to select it as a spawn point once you found it yourself ingame.
  14. I tend to agree with the OPs sentiment, I play this game since 2014 and I would've bought the DLC anyway without any teases or hypes, the announcement of a season pass alone would've been enough. But then they speak about cougars and recipes, housing and sled, new arrows and crampons, of course people expect at least some of it when the DLC releases. I thought the season pass will be mainly used to add more regions but I didn't expect that barely any of the new gameplay elements will be there on launch day. So yes we have things to look forward too but why hype your playerbase only to let them down and hype them for the next update? I think this could've been handled better.
  15. I first went to the Airfield from BRR on Pilgrim, just to see what to expect. After some exploring I decided to begin a Stalker run and start in the Airfield to see how it is "for real". My impressions from Pilgrim carried over, almost no wildlife, lot's of walking and a decent amount of loot. I found quite good clothing in the Hangar area and plenty of food, I can stay vegetarian for days until I have to kill my first animal. Weather is okayish as for now (day 5) but a bit too foggy for my liking, which gets especially tiresome when trying to map the area. From a challenge viewpoint this seems to be the easiest area to start a new run simply because there is almost no risk of running into a wolf or bear. And if you go straight for the hangar first, you'll leave at least with a signal pistol and good enough clothing to explore further. Long-term it was probably a mistake to start in the Airfield but it's new and shiny so I couldn't resist. It would make more sense though to start in the old world, get to AC for the good stuff and only at the end venture into the Airfield, preferably when HTL has added more regions because right now it's a hub area without a connection to anything. And I still want the technical backpack so eventually I will have to go to AC, but there's probably no palce in TLD further away from AC than the Airfield - and then I have to make the trip back for the new regions. Not sure yet if I really want to go on with this run or just start a new one.
  16. Question, will there be a detailed Changelog released as with past updates?
  17. Has the trader already be included in this first installment of the DLC?
  18. Why oh why is Canada not in Europe - yet another hour...
  19. As always with a new map I'll first start a Pilgrim run just to get familiar with the terrain, then Stalker and maybe a year later or so Interloper.
