  1. I went out on my own terms but not without having some fun first - time for the next chapter in the TLD saga
  2. On my current loper run I've still 5 maps left to survive for 100 days each on it, I don't think I'm gonna make it until the swipe.
  3. I'm very excited about the new system, can't wait to play it. But I am a bit anxious about the time when I have to say goodbye to all my fellow survivors in old saves, some go back to 2016. I understand the need to make a reset, it's just a bit sad. And this means I have to hurry up with my 100 days in every region challenge, not sure if I'll make it. Safehouse Customization: I hope this implies that Cabin Fever will be gone by then or at least that we don't get it when we stay inside our beautiful customized base? Not sure about the trader though, we've already way more stuff than we can carry even on interloper. But I'm open, I'm sure hinterland will find a meaningful way to implement them without spoiling the fun of fighting for your survival
  4. But they are an excellent food delivery system if you can climb up a ledge fast enough
  5. I finally got a workaround from a reddit user: throw a torch at the carcass, it bounces off and the carcass becomes clickable again. After I left the bear and came back, it wasn't clickable anymore, I've thrown another torch at it and now I have all it's meat (which was down to 6% condition).
  6. I've made a video of it, sadly it's reproducable everytime I load the game. After the loading screen it says for a split second "Black Bear Carcass - Frozen", then it vanishes and there's no mousepointer anymore. I've slowed down time 10x to make it more noticable. @Admin I've already filled a bug request a few weeks ago but I don't know how to attach this video to it. Can you forward it to the devs please?
  7. I tried both, spending a few hours indoors as well as resting by the fire for an hour, quit and reload. It worked once when I was in BR prison but never since. Sometimes I can click on the carcass suddenly again and sometimes I can't for days until it disappears. I feel like it has something to do with weather change for some strange reason, when I was cooking the bear steaks, wind picked up and then I couldn't click on it anymore. This also happened the last time on a deer carcass, wind picked up and I couldn't click on it. But when I entered CH and got the 3 deers near Jack Rabbit's I could completely harvest all 3 of them with warm-up pauses inside the fishing hut and the weather didn't change until I was done with all of them. Might be coincidence or not, I play on steam.
  8. this would be today *grabbing my popcorn
  9. No I don't play with mods. But this is becoming a game-breaking bug. I've just killed a bear in CH, managed to get off 2 pieces of meat and the hide and while the meat was cooking, I wanted to harvest some more meat - but I can't click on the carcass anymore. When I quit the game after resting by the carcass and load the save, for a split second there is the label "bear, frozen" and then it vanishes, can't click on it. I've opened a bug request a few weeks ago but I don't know if someone is working on that. I can't proceed with my playthrough when I can't harvest meat, please fix this issue @Admin & co, this is the first bug in 7 years playing that actually makes me quit TLD 😢
  10. In coastal it works, cooked and raw I can place the fish everywhere on the floor, I just tested it. Strange.
  11. I've spend a good week fishing at Pensiv Pond but I didn't notice that particular problem. But then, I usually just drop the fish from my inventory and when I'm done fishing, move it onto the stove, piece by piece. Have you ever tried leaving the hut and then place the fish somewhere inside? The barrier box around the fish is quite large, maybe too large for the fish to be placed somewhere with you inside the hut. But if that's the case, I'd suspect that this would be an issue in all fishing huts. And I was able to put down my sleeping bag inside the hut at Pensive Pond so I'm not sure exactly what is going on in your game. I'm no longer in PV but I'll try placing the fish somewhere in a fishing hut in CH.
  12. I made it, I'm out of PV 🥳 In the end I've spent more time there because as luck would have it, on day 96 a bear visited me by the farm. My bear coat was already down to 75% so naturally I had to get him. But darn does it take a long time to cure the hide, to speed up the process I had the glorious idea to get myself hypothermia so I can sleep for a full 12h - but the genius of mine didn't think about getting naked first, which I only noticed after I've did this 2-3 times. Long story short, in the end all my outer clothing was at or below 50%, bear coat down to 38 😕 On day 111 I could finally leave the farm, spent a night at the townhall and then finally, back home in Jackrabbit's. And to show me how much this place missed me, 3 deer were waiting down by the fishing hut for me. Note the passed tense, they are sleeping now forever and I can fix my deer pants and boots That's a bit the downside of this challenge, after spending so much time on a single map I don't feel like I ever want to get back there, certainly not to PV. I hope that by the time I've finished the challenge, the new payed content has been released.
  13. ehm, w00t??? I've spend hundreds of ingame days at the farmstead since PV got released across different playthroughs but I never noticed that fire barrel there - big lol. I think they added it in an update after the initial release and I never bothered to check that place again. Or... the longer I think about it, some dark memory burried deep inside my brain resurfaces of me using it before. Seems I simply forgot about it, dang. Thanks mate, this helps alot! Only 15 days left for me in this godforsaken place and I can finally go on vaccation in CH
  14. Lol no, I prefer to play solo but sharing stories and hearing how others are fairing is still nice
  15. First off, is your bowhunting skill at 5? It's much harder to kill charging wolves below that. Next, best way to deal with charging wolves is to not let them charge you. You can get quite close while crouching and at skill 5 most shots will kill it if you hit the head or the area above the front legs (side or front). You can also try to kill them from above ledges, luring them to you with stones or smell but you have to kill them when they are still at least ~10m away because since a few releases, they know that something is funny and run away once they notice they can't get to you. Now if you really have to kill a charging wolf: aim down about 30°, turn in the direction it's coming at you and when it is 5-6m away, release. It takes a bit of practice because you have to let go of the arrow just before the head gets into the imaginary line between arrowhead and ground but after a few tries it becomes second nature. It's also quite safe if you don't wait for it to get too close because even a body shot will at least scare it off bleeding, letting you to collect the meat later. Also, if it starts charging you and you don't want to take any chances, shoot an arrow somewhere close in front of it, this will usually scare it off too.
  16. True, I find Birch Tea most valuable because contrary to how a blizzard experience usually goes, you actually gain condition while battling the storm instead of loosing. Coffe of course is gold for any speed-challenge
  17. Well, why you were bathing in the sun I endured blizzards and Timberwolves for over 100 days in Blackrock and I'm finished with that region now I've ended up going back and worth between Cutty's, the Bear Cave and the Prison, where I've got a bear spawn around day 70. After I've cleared all the wolves around the prison I moved to the cave at the frozen river lake/river below the the prison and spend some days there. All in all it was quite easy to survive the 100 days in BRM once I've put some fear into the Timberwolves, I found that most packs spawn in areas where you can drop down to a ledge where they can't reach you and then they are easy prey. But now I'm on day 29 in PV and that is a completely different story. I transitioned via TWM and was hoping for a bear spawn near burned ridge, but there was none for days. So I traversed to the farmhouse and there was a bear which I shot and conveniently died near his cave, Jackpot! Or so I thought - I harvested a single piece of meat and went back inside the farmhouse because a blizzard was forming, when I came back the next day, the whole bear carcass was gone, only the piece of meat was left 🤐 I was quite frustrated to run into this bug again. Before killing the bear I've also killed a deer near the farmhouse, harvested a piece of meat and the carcass was still there (but I couldn't click on it, another bug), I don't know why the bear vanished. A few RL days later I decided to continue and went to Pensive Pont, hoping to find another bear either near the climbing spot on the way there or near the transition cave to ML. But there was none, I've spend almost a week in that area but no bear, so I went back to the farmhouse and then to Draft Dodgers, hoping to get the bear which is patroling the area around the barn. And there it was! So I dropped down to a ledge, lured it to me and made an almost perfect head shot - unfortunately teddy learned to climb and he could reach me on the ledge on which I thought I was safe from him. I managed to get off another arrow before he began mauling me, thankfully I had still the bullet veste on and survived the attack with 30% condition left. When I was recovering I already heared the bear dying a few steps further, near Lonely Homestead. Still painfully rememebring the vanishing bear at the farmhouse, I immediately made a fire and began harvesting while cooking delicious bear steaks. What followed next was the second near death experience on that day. While I was cooking the 2nd batch of steaks, the weather turned from bright and sunny-ish straight into a blizzard from hell. So I ran to the bear cave only to discover that it is not a real (warm) cave and continued running to Draft Dodgers'. I missed the spot where I usually go up from the river and had to find my way along the cliffside untilI I could get into the woods where the cabin is. Which was not easy to find from that side with the blizzard still going on. My condition already dropped below 10% and I was veering from side to side while trying to find the cabin, eventually I found it but it seemed almost out of reach, my condition was dropping fast and I couldn't walk straight anymore. Eventually I managed to get inside with 2% condition left, that was a real close call. And that's were I am now, I've recovered some condition, harvested all of the bear meat but most is still uncooked because it's next to impossible to keep a fire going on for more than two hours without another blizzard or strong winds. Once I'm through with that I'll probably commute between Draft Dodgers and burned ridge cave until I'm out of bear. But if someone asked me if I'd prefer staying with the Timberwolves in BRM or with blizzards in PV, I'd choose BRM any day.
  18. Yes I've opened a bug report. It happened again on a partially harvested carcass. I killed a deer, harvested the meat only, went inside to warm up, came back to harvest hide and guts but I cannot interact with it anymore. I haven't experienced anything like that until about 2-3 weeks ago.
  19. Lately I had it happen to me several times that I cannot harvest a kill if I don't immediately start after killing the animal. It happened with several wolves in BRM prison and on two deers in PV. I killed it, went inside to warm up, came back to harvest but I can't click on it, there is no mousepointer when I hover over it. After a day or two I suddenly can click again on it, is this a known bug or some new "feature"?
  20. this might help - funny thing is, you responded in that thread as well
  21. I guess that one fell through quality testing without anyone noticing it. There used to be a polaroid spawn point and there is a gap on the other side from where you climb it, and when you look across that gap, there's a tree which some supposed should have been felt to create a bridge across the gap, linking the plateau to the terrain around it. Somehow the tree is still standing and thus one can only get ontop of that plateau by stone-caching. The polaroid spawn point has been moved to a different location though.
  22. lol if at all, I always thought of consoles as 2nd class. Back in the day we tweaked our config.sys and autoexec.bat to play commander keen, monkey island, zac mkcracken and indiana jones when my consoleros friends only could save the princess with mario in a sideways scroller or shoot at ducks
