  1. same goes for the holes, mini caves like that one near final approach. They are underground (caves are usually on the same ground) and I hoped that they would provide protection but they don't. I think the cellar at the hangar is the only safe place.
  2. Also remember, as long as you didn't get an affliction after falling down the hole (sprain or something like that), you can just quit the game and continue from the last save point.
  3. I started in this region my Stalker run and have come back around day 140 to complete my exploration of it. There are some interesting new additions like "holes" and when I discovered the transit from the Cove to the Cabin I was excited like a little child. Also, placing a rope next to a hidden shortcut made me miss the path to the vista for (ingame) days. At this point I don't have much use for a workbench and because first a group of deer, then a bear and finally a moose happend to be around Final Approach, I am currently camping there. I've got the bear completely cooked and about a 3rd of the moose, it's quite challenging to balance firewood use out here because the copter does not always provide above freezing temps. Overall I like the concept of the map and love the new cottage design but there's one thing that really bothers me: the sound of the wind. This is not limited to FA but in this open field, wind is almost a constant and the sound is very loud, unbearable loud to the extend that the first time ever since I play the game I had to tune down the sound effects in the audio settings. Which has it's drawbacks too because it quitens animal sounds as well, I wished there would be a separate settings for environmental sounds (waterfalls are also extremly loud). So after spending 20 days out in the open here I don't see myself staying for much longer, insomnia is supposed to drive you crazy but that I actually find kinda fun, it's the constant wind sounds that drive me as a player crazy.
  4. My guess is cougar thermo underwear, hopefully not another coat. Not sure though how they are going to implement the game mechanics for it. It's a stealthy and silent killer, in the real world you most likely won't ever see it coming should it choose to attack. Will we have to check every tree and ledge in fear of an attack out of nowhere, will it make its presence known with sounds, will we get headgear with eyes painted on the back? Also, I am already in fight or flight mode whenever I hear a dog barking thanks to 8 years of TLD, are they now going to make me afraid of cat meowing? 😟
  5. I went from FA to AC, from AC to BRM, from BRM to HRV and then back to FA, took me only about 140 days, one big jolly roundtrip But now that I'm back in FA and have explored the whole map, I'm asking myself if I should go for another round. I have a bear and a moose cut into pieces and partially barbecued at final approach and once I've devoured it all I'll probably go looking for the remaining rifle variants or wait for the next DLC content.
  6. It's actually one of my favorite maps, especially on interloper, second only to AC - and now there is even more incentive to go there
  7. Thanks, in that case I don't have to revisit CH, I was in the garage and there was no rifle. Currently I'm completely mapping FA and once I'm done I'll go checkout DP and BI, the only places left which I didn't explore too deeply.
  8. Care to spoil? I recently left CH for FA, have explored about 2/3rds of the map and want to know if I checked where you found it, because I've also found Vaughn's in WR. But thanks for confirming, someone on reddit also confirmed that they've found 2 variants. I've found the lantern, bow and Vaughn's so far.
  9. Me neither, I only found Vaughn's in WR. Has anyone ever found two different rifle variants in one run?
  10. Yes that's what the patchnotes also said. Does anyone know if it is possible two find all 3 rifle variants in one playthrough?
  11. I think the randomness is a bit too random - I found both TWM polaroids inside the same cave, never had that happen before. Not complaining, just letting you know
  12. I don't have anything to forgive, it's a game and I am glad as a bunny that you are still putting out new stuff into survival mode. The launch bug was rather hilarious and a fix was provided by the community even faster than by the devs (copy the dll), so I was playing 15 minutes later. But Raph, why still no patchnotes?
  13. Yeah I don't understand this either. If it's about keeping up the mistery then people who like to play unspoilered simply wouldn't read them. It's not that because they are out there you have to read them. Can we have at least a word @Admin if and when the patchnotes will be released?
  14. And it's lighter, the most important part. Well aside from the fact that it proves once again that duct tape is awesome
  15. Ah okay, thanks. But it is not confirmed yet what has already been released? From this thread so far only Rifle, Lantern and Bow have been found - I have the first two, guess I'm heading to HRV now.
  16. I didn't either but then found two in the trailer in Transfer Pass. After being from FA to AC and now back in CH it's clear to me that they've spread out the loot over the maps. For example I found no wetstone and no sewing kit in FA but plenty of them on later maps. No storm lantern either but several in TWM and AC. But FA provided me with very good clothing which was absent on some of the later maps. If this should encourage people to explore the whole of great bear than it certainly works. And that's not even all of them, I stopped picking them up after AC because they start to add up in weight
  17. Yes I feel the same, even 45kg carry limit is too low
  18. They are in rather unusual but not unknown places, I can name drop two regions if you'd like to get spoilered: And full spoiler:
  19. I can't answer the question with certainty but I suspect you'd have to start over again. But why would you? HL hasn't given a timeline and if it takes longer than a week, which by the sound of it it will, your survivor will be so well equipped that the bunkers become obsolete. If you like the search, try finding the variants of all items. I only found the 2nd item yesterday on day 120 of my current Stalker run, they are at least as well hidden as the bunkers and definitely more useful in the long run than a clothing or food bunker you'd most likely would get.
  20. You guys should read up on how the parasites mechanic works: https://thelongdark.fandom.com/wiki/Intestinal_parasites The chance displayed during the first 24h only determines how likely you'll get it after 24h and with raw meat, you are 75% likely to get it. About food poisoning, check out this list on foods to avoid below 75% or below 20%: https://thelongdark.fandom.com/wiki/Food_poisoning
  21. The new rare find rifle is 1kg less in weight, what's not to like about that?
