  1. One I added to my Spotify playlist is called Holy Branches. It just seems to fit in so well with the game. It's by Radical Face: https://spotify.link/v4JIQLJvODb or YouTube link: https://youtu.be/kTwk0TsB5jM?si=_ZL_QbzsQx1NI5XM Probably take most songs from Radical Face. There is one called The Missing Road and another called Homesick.
  2. If I see the bear or know it's an area where they typically are I will crouch down with my rifle and slowly ease myself into a position to take a head shot. If I don't manage that but wound it, I'll start tracking it from a safe distance.
  3. Good ol' Simpsons and the 3 eyed fish. I wonder if it'll be an exposure thing. Like maybe that body of water is connected to the water supply, making it hazardous to drink. (Water from toilets or stored water). And even using the water purifying tablets do nothing. Probably wouldn't want to collect snow in that region either lol. If all of Great Bear had earthquakes there was definitely some chemical spills that were not contained. With the power down, they likely either abandoned the area or died trying. OMG, what if there are Timberwolves and they mutated. Because surely in one of the areas of the far territory there is Timberwolves!!!!!
  4. I was looking at this a bit closer and that green patch, I know some people thought it was grass or gas. But I think it's a pond or lake. And they dumped the chemicals from the mine production in there polluting it. I honestly think it is a toxic pond that has been frozen over. In which case, I do not wanna fall in.
  5. I was just saying I could not wait for the new Dev update. All of this is exciting. I can't wait for more in depth details on Part 4. I will admit I was hoping for sooner, but totally understand why. With 150+ bugs, that is massive. Better to fix the bugs first before adding another update with new content. This entire Dev update was awesome. Very excited for when we get more info.
  6. I agree with @ManicManiac. I've enjoyed everything that Tales has been so far, and I'm glad you @Raphael van Lierop are so transparent with your fan base. While I am looking forward to Part III it's definitely something I can wait on for when its ready. I know this hasn't gone as you expected, but these things take time and your team needs rest and to come back afterwards, refocused and reenergized. I know that your finished product will be amazing.
  7. BlackRock is a federal Penitentiary, not a local jail. It was placed there due to the fact that even in the summer, escaped convicts would have a difficult time actually escaping to civilization. The warden mentioned this in episode 4.
  8. You can reach the ones opposite you, and if you swivel a bit, you can reach the 2 beside you. I think if you look up there is 2 above your head.
  9. Oh one thing I meant to suggest. Hand and feet warmers. You can also get body warmers. Goes in boots, mitts for a one time use. I'm sure the people from great bear have a few lying around. Also is it just me, but 2 gas stations in all of great bear seems unrealistic. I am hoping for a gas station in on if the new areas
  10. Yeah free look would be very handy. I tried to enter to vehicle the opposite way thinking that would work. I almost wonder if there is any loot above where you sit.
  11. I don't use mods and this is more a wishlist to Hinterland then it is to people who make third party mods. I'd rather have well fed and the moose satchel and the technical backpack, but even with all of that you stash the 8L of water at a base or a rock cache. I personally only carry 3L of water.
  12. Sounds like a great idea. I'd also like to suggest oatmeal, or even the mac n cheese cups, soup cups, they would be perfectly paired with a teapot.
  13. This would be nice for FA, especially paired with a way to dig underground to escape the fog.
  14. Ah. Gotcha. And yeah, I was thinking the same. I wanted to see what was near the cliffs in the airfield but not run all the way out there to find nothing. Path info would be nice as well. Good ideas.
  15. I'm sure the team has an idea of what they plan to release for the next 12 months, but I thought it might be fine to discuss some wishlist items and speculate what it could add to the game and maybe offer some Suggestions to the dev team. As a person who lives in Canada, in what is considered "a remote area", a lot of people have gasoline generators. It would give another use for the jerry cans that we find throughout Great Bear, but also makes you consider when and how to use it. It could also introduce crude oil, which come from dead animal remains. However, on one hand, it takes special refinery equipment to turn the oil into gas and specific knowledge how to do it safely. On the other hand, if Mackenzie and Astrid can craft gun powder, bullets and use specialized equipment, they can handle turning crude oil into gas. The generator could also have a condition and needs repairing, otherwise a low condition generator could cause carbon monoxide poisoning. Besides a gasoline generator, they could introduce a solar generator and/or battery. Which could also lose condition as well. Finally, bone tools would be a nice addition. They obviously aren't as great as the tools we have now, but thinking long game, you'd always have access to bone tools from the animals you kill and it would save the better tools for when you really need them. Or even making some bone weapons, like bone arrowheads. Might be nice for Interloper considering resources are scarce.
  16. I wholeheartedly agree. I am going through my second play though and slowing it down. I want to experience it again. It was so well thought out and really had me intrigued the entire time. It's not gonna please everyone, but Kudos to Hinterland for a spectacular episode.
  17. I don't think Mackenzie would start shooting, he said that he can't be seen by them and needs to escape. Considering his objective at that time is to leave with the case and get to Jace, I doubt he is stopping for his gear, since he is looking for stealth and speed to get away. Also in Chapter 5, I doubt any of the gear he had would carry over. He threw himself in rushing water, the last thing he wants is his backpack weighing him down when he needs to keep the case as it is. For those reasons, I'd say that it's realistic enough that while YOU might go back for your gear, Mackenzie would not and that's how the story is played out. Also it is just a game after all, a little unrealism is a good thing. It's meant to be fun, not true to life.
  18. Exactly, I figure a normal run, I'd want a Top 5 must haves and it's completely doable to survive. I love challenges outside of the normal Interloper outerloper runs. I still find the items are just too plentiful after awhile haha. The vegetarian one sounds interesting. Each time I do a custom run I make it more and more impossible. That's where the fun is (for me). If I am fully warm from the clothing, got lots of food, I'm like welll time to start a new one. Then I just find a nice cliff and byeeeeeeee.
  19. I like the Mountaineer Hut. My retirement spot is TWM and AC after I explored everywhere else. Got that nice little Cabin in AC on the lake.
  20. I haven't worked up the nerve to play interloper. I do a custom that is close to it. But I doubt it would be feasible to try. On the other ones though. I tried it last night and going well so far. I was able to get one thing on my wishlist. Now I am at Trappers killing rabbits for a hatlol.
  21. It's called a challenge and it's for fun? But yes, treat it seriously like it's not just a game. Besides you don't need to grab every little thing, when you can fully loot caves, fishing huts and ruined buildings. But seems as though you missed the point. Ah well.
  22. This applies to enclosed buildings that increase warmth as a cool little challenge and general curiosity. What would be your 5 must haves and why. I would want metal for arrowheads and knife/hatchet Magnifying glass for a way to light fires on clear days Crowbar. Weapon and open up lockers Cloth. For repairing and such A pot. Cuz a can doesn't cut it.
