  1. yes. but it involves tons of climbing and urm....a tool. I dont want to give TOO much away
  2. Coffee is nice to have before climbing. Energy drinks for BIG climbs if you need the Energy boost (if you more than half tired). E Stims can be wasted if necessary, but should be for emergencies only.
  3. All ropes can be climbed with a full nights rest.
  4. I have never had the chance to hear this. Its nice.
  5. I enjoy that you grabbed my definition of cheat to make this statement. My statements after that definition are sort of on the same line as yours. Its single player, and there is a goal. How you get to that goal (without breaking the game) is totally up to you.
  6. Savescumming is an exploit, and therefore cheating. So, maybe @peteloud makes a solid point.
  7. Cheat: 1.: act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage, especially in a game or examination. 2.: avoid (something undesirable) by luck or skill. Sorry, I can't agree with your statement. If the badge says "Collect Maple Syrup & Ketchup Chips (multiple saves)" .. and you collect them, using 25 saves where you grabbed 1 maple syrup each time, you still followed the rules. The badge awarded "grinders". Did you grind for the badge?
  8. Also, thanks for posting these vids. Naked Embrace, LUL
  9. How did the bear run through the fire?! And you survived!!!!!! wow
  10. It's not an issue i think should be addressed. (opinion of course)
  11. The higher the ground you are on, the more open the viewing space, and you'll map a wider area. Find polaroids and it will reveal A LOT of the map. In regards to showing position, that is up to you, as the guy without a compass & no GPS system, to figure out. No hand holding; survive.
  12. I would totally buy a cairn to add a story. just saying Hinterland
  13. I switch each game. no particular reason. I like the female dialog better though.
  14. Since the syrup is completely random, and sometimes locations do not spawn ANY, I do not think a "long game" approach will get the job done. It took me 4 rounds to collect the syrup. And that was LOTS of SPRINTING & COFFEE, completely against my normal play style, but it helped me realize how much ground can be covered in a short period of time.
  15. Well, i must start by saying, That was WELL thought out. This is one of those tweaks to the game that could shake up the "OG' play style, and offer a more realistic approach to survival. Having just recently completed the "surviving off the land achievement" I can say I found it simple, given that all i need to do was travel, eat a few cat tails, be hungry for a while, and then regain condition while resting. I felt like I was cheating the system. I imagine one could not climb a rope from the ravine while carry 35kg of weight, also while having just spent 25 days starving. This is a good suggestion/addition, and one that I hope gets noticed.
  16. It was nice to do some exploring. I found a bunch of locations I've never even thought about walking to. Specifically some of the hatch locations. They were in very remote spots.
  17. I recently unlocked the achievement for Exploration Game (Visit every interior location in Mystery Lake & Coastal Highway // 1 play through) I spawned inside of Trapper's Homestead. Then I proceeded to enter EVERY interior, marking all location with paint. I finished all of ML & CH, and the achievement DID NOT unlock. Confused, I went back to mystery lake to double check all of the "prepper locations", nothing. So, frustrated, I decided to start again. I ran back to Trapper's Homestead. and entered, and then the achievement unlocked. I dont think this is 100% a bug, but if you start your game INSIDE of a location, it should count toward the achievement. Thoughts?
  18. maybe we'll run into each other at Mystery Lake. Welcome! If you cant find me, i left you a deer carcass at the Lake Overlook.
  19. i DO check every vehicle. i've pulled some decent loot out of the trunks. And i had a magic bullet during my time there as well. i'm glad to see everyone gets to experience that.
