  1. I feel the same way. I like to fully survey all of the maps and remove all of the black patches covering the maps. I have completed the Faithful Cartographer many times. The locations in BlackRock and TFTFT are not recorded in the journal. So far the Locations count in my journal is stuck at 344.
  2. When I read of these problems I wish the HTL has completed Episode 5 using the old format before starting on the DLC in the new format.
  3. Yesteray I had some weird problems with TLD. It had been working well for several hours then strange things started to happen. Unfortunately I had been running a variety of versions of TLD and also testing a few mods so I am not in a position to pinpoint the issues. After waiting for the new update I was getting bored hanging around Vacant Depot so I went back the ML to pick up a bear bedroll that needed repairing. I repaired it and returned to the Vacant Depot. I took it out to Junker's Paddock thinking it might be needed if I travel out from there. I dropped in on the floor and went out to cook some meat. When I returned the bear bedroll had disappeared. At the same time I found that if I drank water the amout of water that I was carrying did not reduce. It seemed I had a magic water bottle that never emptied. I also found that after I ate meat I retained a zero weight piece of meat in my backpack. Strange things also happened to cooked meat that I left lying on the snow outside the trailer. I can't remember exactly, but things like when I picked up a piece of meat it also stayed on the snow. I have visited Junkers several times recently without problems. I tried all sorts of things trying to find the bear bedroll but could not find it. As I said I had been trying different versions of TLD and a few mods that had not previously given trouble so I cannot fully describe the problem. I guess I'll just to wait for the update and continue from there minus a hard won bear bedroll.
  4. I'm waiting at the Vacant Depot in Transfer Pass. The ropeless rope-climb with an inaccessible top suggests that there will be expanasion in that area.
  5. Yes. I've encountered it. Many days later when I returned to the bottom of that rope climb I had forgotten about the rope being invisible, when I couldn't see a rope I had to take a very long unnecessary trek to get up to Foreman's Retreat.
  6. I am confused about all the different versions that are for sale. (I'm an old, old man, perhaps I'm losing my marbles). I want to recommend to a friend that he buys the standard TLD, surviaal only, with the TFTFT, survival only. As the TFTFT only has 12 months update licence what happens after 12 months? Will there continue to be updates for TFTFT.
  7. I have been hesitant to say it, but I have been a disappointed with the DLC. Do not jump on me for being bitchy and negative, few people have played TLD as much as I have and I have been very ready to say what a fantastic game it is. With the straight early access TLD I didn't particularly mind bugs. In fact, I often spent a great deal of time investigating the bugs that I came across and I often reported them in detail to support. Then I felt that wse were all, HTL and early access players were, all part of team working together to improve an excellent game. I do not have this feeling of cameraderie with the DLC. I have come across many bugs and inconsistencies that I find irritating. As the DLC is being sold for a much higher price for a 12 month licence I feel that we should not have so many unresolved issues. I would have preferred to have Episode 5 of the original TLD in the old format with the usual limitations and bugs, then the realease of the DLC with the new format, not as early access, with very few bugs with the new pricing structure. For all my complaints I am playing TFTFT and have completed around 600 days at Voyager level but there is a slight sour taste in my mouth.
  8. I have read several books about the opening up of Canada a hundred or two years ago, in those books it is mentioned that local people who worked with the expeditions expected to be fed 7lbs of meat per day and were unhappy when it was reduced to 5lbs. On Franklin expeditions they even resorted to eating each other.
  9. No, the noise is definitely not a doe.
  10. Every now and again, perhaps once an hour, I hear a puzzling sound. It starts off, for about 1 second, sounding like a person snoring, or a snarl from some animal. Then the sound disappears. There is no animal anywhere near to cause the sound. Does anyone else get the sound?
  11. I often have a similar problem trying to find the bed in a black dark room. A bed is a pretty large thing yet I could be stood close to it and struggle to click on it.
  12. Perhaps just larger territories for animals and greater randomisation woud be a much simpler solution.
  13. This happens a lot. If you wander around long enough they usually reappear.
  14. The moose was around the Hunting Lodge a couple of times recently in a straight Voyager game. He usually kept at the limit of the bow range. I was up that tree trunk. Then I came down to tempt him over. I raced back on to the tree trunk and after missing a few times when he was running around beneath me, I eventually put an arrow in his head.
  15. Yesterday I completed the Faithful Cartographer in the new DLC version of TLD. I have now lost count of the number of times I've completed the FC. It must be around ten times. I wish HTL was more consistent in its design of TLD. No count is made of locations visited in Blackrock, the Airfield or its connector routes. There are no locations to be surveyed in these regions either. I hope that these omissions are a temporary loss and that locations and survey counts will be included in an update.
  16. I have often wondered whether a bear could be killed with the revolver. You have solved my query, thanks. I have shot many deer with the revolver.
  17. I have had several visits to the hangar at the airfield in a Voyager game and did not have any of the problems you describe.
  18. It would be interesting to see what HTL does with science fiction. It is a subject that I normally avoid, but HTL has done such fantastic job with TLD their people are extremely competent in producing a very good game, so they might be able to develop a science fiction game that I'd greatly enjoy.
  19. Why get worked up about things like that. I've been waiting for Episode 5 for years. It'll come.
  20. Those two long runs are very impressive. I'd find it hard to believe normally but they guys have done such a good job recording their runs there is no doubt. I have just been doing a 80 day straight Voyager in Ver 2.03 to check out a few things and I haven't yet managed to get a shot a a single moose. It is also a very impressive bit of work by ZAK too. One thing that I very much like about TLD is that there are some extremely competent people who play the game, some of whom share their expertise. I suspect that many of these are people are IT professionals, but there are people who have a serious systematic approach to the problems. I often wonder what work they do outside of TLD. They would be great people to employ. Of course there are also attention-seekers to who post low quality messages.
  21. Previously the box of maatches was stuck to my bow, today it was stuck to the rifle.
  22. Helicopters also have storage boxes inside the passenger compartment.
  23. Blackrock is the region that I least like, probably because of the timberwolves. I have travelled around it thoroughly in at least a couple of games. Now I have no desire to return there.
